Hi Zach
I am still not getting the dir pin changing when I move the slider to the left. Does on single step so my connections should be OK. Also I am pretty sure the dir signal pulses briefly when I move the slider left but does not stay high.
The comms errors seem to show when things go totally wrong. Moving the slider a small amount and comm are OK so I will ignore comms error until the dir i

RepRap Host
Hi Zach
Single Arduino
I will post the log later (just shut down for the day here in UK).
I Set the delay to 5 microseconds but I am now not sure it is needed. However if your drives will stand it OK it might be useful for some drives that need a longer signal. Did you know some drives need the direction pin set a couple of microseconds before you output step pulses otherwise they lose a step

Thanks Zach
I put in the delay. It took me a while to realise you have to delete the object file to force an arduino library recompile. It might be worth adding that to the document file where you show:-
1. Lookup the values for your thermistor.
2. In your Arduino library, edit ThermoplasticExtruder/ThermoplasticExtruder.cpp and replace the table with the table from the page above.

RepRap Host
Hi
The Arduino has an Atmel Micro and has built in hardware and software to enable you to programme it from the PC using USB. Works a treat.
Farnell have a connector part number 148086. Check the picture to make sure that is the one you are after.

Hi
I have the reprap host running under Windows.
I am using single Arduino electronics as it provides step a direction signals to my commercial drives.
I have the heater, extruder and thermistor all wired and working.
I am now wiring the drives.
I have the 1st drive hooked up, single step plus and minus buttons seem to work OK.
I am not sure what is supposed to happen when you move the Set

RepRap Host
Hi
Tried this on a laptop never used with reprap before.
Installation seemed to go ok but when I ran the bat file I got the following result.
Sorry I have no idea what it means but I hope it helps.
C:\Program Files\Reprap02>reprap-host
C:\Program Files\Reprap02>java -Xmx384M -jar Reprap.jar
Exception in thread "RepRap" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/vecmath/Tuple

Thanks Zach
Just to confirm, the Arduino will connect to exactly the same host software as the PowerComms PCB V1.2.1 and Universal controller PCB V1.2.1.?

Hi
On the Arduino Alternative Electronics Web page at the very end it shows:-
"Once you have the host software installed, open the software and pull up the Preferences menu. Change the preferences stated to the values below:"
Unless I am missing something there appears to be no further information.
Does the Arduino connect to the standard host software that communicates to the earlier electro

Hi
If Zach has increased the hole size slightly terminals will probably fit any way. I files the corners off Phoenix terminals pins (the pins are square) and can get them in a V2 board if I used a fair amount of force

Hi
I am completely new to this but have built a comms board and 1 universal controller.
I had a problem but it was only because the build documentation seemed ambiguous.
My problem was the reference to connectors being the wrong way round. It was not clear to me that this only referred to the mark one board. I see this confused some one else as well.
I would suggest a few edits in the wiki st

Hi
I am interested in modifying the PIC
When I first looked at the software instructions (Using Windows - Sorry Guys) it had a lot of information about installing Eclipse. I followed the instructions and managed to get all the files into my workspace. My first attempt at compiling the Reprap host failed. I then discovered Dan P's instructions on installing the ready to run host and that worked

Hi
Universal Controller PCB V1.2.1
I am at the 3rd stage of the build instructions - excercise test. The LED does not flash. I get TX and RX signals in the command window so I assume the PIC is programmed OK.
TX 0->2: c
RX 54 52 30 0 2 bd
TX 0->2: 4
RX 54 52 30 0 2 bd
RX 54 51 33 0 2 4 3e 2 61
etc.
Have I missed something? The instructions state fit P3 but no mention of fitting a jumpe

Hi
In the instructions it states:-
GR and TG 2-pin connectors. TG: tab facing inside. GR: tab facing outside
I assume GR & TG refer to Tx & Rx
Does this apply to PCB V1.2.1?
Or has this board been corrected and tabs should be as silk screen?

Hi
I have built the board.
I have tested with loop back and Hyperterminal on Com1 and get echo OK
I have loaded the RepRap software into Windows thanks to DanP's posts.
Reprap software appears to load OK
I select Tools - Stepper Exerciser and get error message:-
There was an error opening /dev/ttys0
etc.
The underlying dos command window shows:-
C:\reprap-host-0.8.1>java -Xmx384M -ja

Hi Zach
Parts list for PowerComms attached with Farnell UK Numbers
They are not verified in that I did not order every item as I had some parts in stock. However I think they are all OK. Be warned some Farnell items have minimum quantities but if you order a lower quantity they automatically up the quantity.
The 4700uf cap I did buy and it is not a perfect fit but OK with a little pin bending.
