Hallo,

Uh, well, you´re completely right !
I´m sorry, within this picture it looks awsome (I misinterpreted the one before...)! There´s not much room left for size improvement.
Well done !

Yeah ! Go ahead ! :-)
Best things of human being was/is done, when cost and/or effort plays no matter !!
KR,
Mike
PS: What about designing the Lander slightly "asymmetric", I mean shifting the arm shoulder to the left or right side of the backside mount. I know you already designed much of the parts already, but then you can fold the arm to one side and transport gets easier....

Scuba tanks difference pressure is rated 300 bar.
High pressure industrial radial fan around 0.1 bar.
Good luck. ;-)

Correct, something like that !
It´s just a Feeling, but you might possibly increase the wall thickness of the square frame a Little bit and decrease that of the "X". Fan inlet port into the arm is big enough (Input area roughly equals Output area ?)?
Just have a look how lightweight mills and airplane Frames are built...perhaps there are other structures/designs which fit your design pilosophy e

Interesting idea....but, well, I doubt that it will be efficient in this way.
You should think about maximizing the channels cross section (enhance Diameter/length ratio).
Less channels with larger cross section is much better because flow resistance goes up with pow(radius,4) and those small fans don´t have a high pressure difference!
Hollow square arm with four triangular flow channels ("x in a

Of course, math is different. But should be somehow adoptable.
I just wanted to tell you because you said you´re trying to adopt the morgan Firmware...Perhaps I´m doing something fundamentally wrong, but all before you start, check if you can move Motors with the original Firmware...might be there´s a bug in it....

Hi,
that´s a very cool design, something I also was thinking about some time ago ! ;-)
First question: How do you pre-tension the fishing line and what diameter do you want to use? I think Spectra is made of Dyneema, so depending on line diameter the systems stiffness can be adjusted.
Second question: Already tried to run the Morgan-software as-is and move some motors with it? I had no success

Well, no success for today...
I compiled the Teacup-SCARA-Branch (Teacup.SCARA) for the Morgan-setup, uploaded it to an Arduino Mega 2560 with Ramps 1.4 shield, connected it with Pronterface 2014.08.01 and......nothing moves. Steppers are under current and hum, but do not respond. Approx. 20seconds after Pronterface connection, hum disappears and steppers seem to be without current.
When using

Directly after connection with pronterface I can here the motors hum, about 20 seconds later they turn off..without doing anything.
During these 20s no movements possible.

Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
M114 gives back the following:
ok X:20.000,Y:0.000,Z:0.000,E:0.000,F:400
Feedback changes coordinates with each movement command, but motors not moving.
I checked the Enable pins during movement command using a Voltmeter.... stays HIGH all time...

Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Hi,
I´m sorry, but I have another problem when trying to run Teacup for SCARA... so its the version directly downloaded from github.
I use:
Arduino Mega 2560 + Ramps 1.4 with A4988 drivers, running at 12 V, 1A.
Pronterface 2014.08.01
LOOKAHEAD is defined in config.h and it compiles without error.
I can connect to the board, but I cannot get the steppers moving. They do not do anything, not even

Never heard about chillipeppr before....
Last minutes I had a short view on it.
Seems that it´s an browser based controlling software, correct? I cannot see any real benefit, perhaps I´m too blind to see. OK, seems to have a pulsed laser output, but not much details about it directly accessible.
For my laser control I think I will use an arduino with pwm output and an enable input which connects

Teacup

cozmicray, actually I don´t know exactly what Problems Wally suffers in Detail.
But the Morgan-Setup works well with a more or less comparable kinematic calculation, which has to be adapted, of course.
EvilMonkey also has built a beautiful machine running another Firmware (ttsalo), so I´m not doing something new here.
I will try to run the ttsalo-software and/or the modified Teacup-Firmware on an
