Problem solved. This seems a very poor forum when a topic gets no response in several days, thanks guys.by terryd - General Mendel Topics
Hi, I intend to install an inductive sensor on my Home built Prisa i3 for bed 'levelling'. I have an LJ18A3-8-Z/BX 8mm sensor which is an npn type. I saw Tom's guide to bed tramming on YouTube with an inductive sensor and built a Voltage divider according to his instructions to reduce the signal Voltage to less than 12V. He shows the switch operating when near metal and visa versa Mine seemby terryd - General Mendel Topics
Hi all, thanks for your advice which I tried, Dancer - when I checked, the threads were clean and dry, I use PTFE dry lubrication on my rods and threads. McCarman - when I checked the gcode the Z offset for the first layer was 0.35 with 200% extrusion, and the rest set at 0.3 mm. In subsequent tests the first layer was good but then the print just carried on at the same level, the Z screws wby terryd - Printing
I just found out how to add an image to my posts so here is are a couple of pictures of the failed print. There is a step in the print a little way up but that was caused by me nudging the printer. As you can see the Z axis seemed to fail about halfway up the print. As I said the Z axis behaves impeccably when moved and homed when using Pronterface. Thanks for looking Terryby terryd - Printing
Hi, I posted this in an older Thread but was advised to start a new thread and include G codes and photographs of failed prints so here goes: I have a diy Prusa i3 made with the box frame, which I built about 3 years ago. I used it successfully but stopped using it after about a year and have just come back to it again. I updated Marlin, Pronterface and Slic3r and serviced the machine. I had aby terryd - Printing
Hi, Although this is an old thread perhaps someone can help me with a similar problem. I have a diy Prusa i3 made with the box frame, which I built about 3 years ago. I stopped using it after about a year and have just come back to use it again. Apart from resetting Marlin (I use marlin with Pronterface and slic3r recent versions) I have had a few problems of the basic kind, such as levellingby terryd - Printing
QuoteTraumflug QuoteLioLine I don't understand what I should do after I opened the serial monitor ? Press and release the Reset button. This should send the word "start" over the serial line. If there's just some garbage or simply nothing, try other baud rates. One can simply try all of them: 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200, 250000. Sorry to appear ignorant but does this mean the reset button on thby terryd - RAMPS Electronics
Hi There, First posting here so go easy guys, I'm just collecting parts for a Prusa, the suggested stepper for the print head is a minimum of 40 Ncm but there are no recommendations for the other motors. What would be the minimum for the drive motors please? I am trying to build on a budget, as it is just for interest, but don't want to waste money on motors that are too small, equally I don'tby terryd - General Mendel Topics
