Hi I actually bought some faberdashery from the uk, and I sent it to a friend of mine in the eu to ship it to me. Apparently he needs to identify the PLA filament with a proper shipping code. Does anyone have any idea what this is? I kinda need the information before the end of today. Thanks in advanced.by kenshinjeff - General
Well, they say that a 1.5MM extruder would need twice the strength of a 3MM extruder to push the filament out. If you think about it, it kinda makes sense. But my recommendation to you would be: try to work with whatever you have, then try to work down to see if you can reach the resolution required. With regards to the nozzle, I'm sure there are cnc machines who can mill the parts out of a bby kenshinjeff - Singapore RUG
I have the same problem actually, my pla comes without a spool and I have no idea where to mount a printed spool, and which printed spool would actually fit nicely on the mendel90. I would like to be able to use something like this though.by kenshinjeff - Mendel90
The yoda looks horrible IRL to be honest lol. Still have alootttt of things to learn man. 18 hours is split into 3-4 days lah lol. I hear airwolf support is really good. And to be honest, assembling by yourself is still a good choice in my opinion.by kenshinjeff - Singapore RUG
Wah tok kong man! What kind of wires did you use to wire the heatbed? I dunno what to look for locally, go to hardware shop and ask for what type of wire?by kenshinjeff - Singapore RUG
Hi may I know how you got parts for this? This is in aluminium?by kenshinjeff - Singapore RUG
Bought a mendel90 pre-soldered from nophead, took me about 18 hours in total to fix, another 2 hours to calibrate. Now I can do it in 15 mins but lol, I hate calibration. Not much prints to show off though. Assembling another i2 now, waiting for the hobbed bolt, I can't seem to get my machining guys to replicate it without a decent m3 tap. Just curious, which airwolf model did you get? Andby kenshinjeff - Singapore RUG
Thanks for the reply. What does everyone here use anyway? Or do you all buy assembled nozzles?by kenshinjeff - Singapore RUG
If you want, you can just call everyone on greenbook and see which is the nearest to you. You want to look for: M8 x 1.25 stainless steel studs or M8 x 1.25 steel rod Standard length is 1.2m if you want to cut yourself. For a prusa i2 you would need 6 x 1M rods to cut as per the wiki. It doesn't need to be super accurate, +- 1MM is fine. 8MM steel linear shafts/rods (G6 tolerance) Stanby kenshinjeff - Singapore RUG
So I bought a hotend from here I need to add "Silicon heat compound" to the power resistor for optimal heat transfer. That part is easy, but what in the world is this "Silicon heat compound" called in Singapore and where can I get such a thing which can transfer 230+ deg celcius?by kenshinjeff - Singapore RUG
Has anyone tried to double the x and y axis to create larger prints with a reprap? I'm interested to know how I should go about doing it. I have thought of the following and it would be cool if someone else could correct me where I'm wrong. Requirements: Double x and y axis. - Theoratically I would not print more than 150mm for z size so that shoud make it easier (?) to design. - Increase prby kenshinjeff - General
I would join you if I were in the states. Just a quick question if I may, why water jet cut instead of laser cut?by kenshinjeff - General Mendel Topics
Hi guys, I got my printed parts and electronics from online. I realise that I need a print bed to support the heated bed, linear bearing and belt clamps and I have found the pdf for drilling the holes. 1. Are there any cad drawings available online I can download and pass to a cutting guy to do it for me? 2. What kind of material and thickness should this be? 3. Since the holes have to be aby kenshinjeff - General Mendel Topics
I'll be getting a few hundred meters of PLA to play with my 3d printer kit that'll arrive next month. I usually import products from France in a container every few months, so what I'll be doing is to ship filament from UK to FRA and from there it'll come by ship to my factory in Singapore. My next shipment is probably a month from today, and it'll take another 4-5 weeks to arrive to Singaporby kenshinjeff - Singapore RUG
@anode505: Yeah, that was one of my first shortlisted kits too, I'll see if I can get any locally. @akenvim: That looks really good. I was thinking of using laser cut structures after I get used to my first reprap tho. Does anyone have any experience with Makergear, Makerfarm, Reprappro or Printrbot?by kenshinjeff - General
I've been wanting to get into 3D printing for a few weeks already, and I'm looking at kits. My objective is to learn how a reprap works, be able to calibrate and easily upgrade the electronics/parts for better prints. (My idea of upgrading is to perhaps make a more stable base, replace rods, replace belts, add enclosures, change nozzles and stuff). Ideally the kit ought to be within the 600 -by kenshinjeff - General
