Similar problem, which I imagine may be associated with the fact that I ran a print with the heat at 240 with PLA at the start of a print job. The extruder worked fine and I immediately lowered the temp in Pronterface to a standard 200 and "successfully" printed with no problems (successful only in the respect that the plastic extruded and did not burn up - the calibration cube I had intended toby junkelsplitsy - General Mendel Topics

Oh boy were you right on about that one. Stupid stupid me. Picked up a couple of boxes of DIP shunts from RatShack (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103807) and that certainly rectified the problem. Naturally, as I am a complete noob, I have a new set of problems. 1) Temperature settings I reconfigured my Marlin code to the best of my ability and have even been ableby junkelsplitsy - General Mendel Topics

My kit-built Mendel Mono from RepRapPro recently went on the fritz, so I attempted to rectify the problem by swapping out the suspect Melzi board with a RAMPS 1.4 Board / ArduinoMEGA / LCD combo purchased up from SainSmart.com. It is not going well. Is my Melzi controller board fried? - 13 years ago
Can anyone point me to any resources I could use to diagnose whether my Melzi controller board is fried? I posted previously (http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?151,240161) with some ongoing problems and all signs seem to be pointing to my controller board being done for. Unplugged everything and tried backing off on the trimpots, but that didn't seem to fix anything on restart. I have noticed a new strange behavior though, not sure if it was happening before or not. Sometimes in Pronterface when I send a command like X+10 the Y axis moves! That is not right! Then repeat the command and the X axis will move.
