I can only speak on using a 3mm Genuine E3d but my jamming issues went away when I followed the following: Always keep the heatsink fan on when cooling the hotend down past 70deg C. This is VERY important, I think this is what happens (and Tom Salanderer pretty much confirmed this in one of his videos): On the 3mm version (i've not had this issue with the 1.75 version) the fan on the heatsink kby Guchion - General

Hello All, I'm currently part way through a Richrap 3dr build i've edited for 8mm rod and gt2 belt, but honestly its a bit small and i'm having a devil of a time finding a auto bed detection method that just works. I mistakenly bought a nice Alu headbed, but at 220mm its too big for this design but I think its the right size for the printer I want to build. I've also got some nice 200mm arms, whby Guchion - Delta Machines
It was a bad stepper, I didn't have a LCD plugged in. Funny its been fine for the last year, ahh well.by Guchion - RAMPS Electronics
Hello, Hope someone can help. Just blown the regulator in two Megas, now, after the first one, I swapped out the ramps board completely except for the fans on 12v aux and the steppers. I'm guessing I have a short in one of these, but not sure which stepper or the fans, can someone help me to find out which? I have a decent multimeter but no idea what to look for. I guess I could just unplug theby Guchion - RAMPS Electronics
Whats the surface under the Blue tape? Personally I only use blue tape when I'm printing without a heated bed since PLA tends to stick pretty well to Glass, and with the larger prints some hairspray does wonders. If you are using glass, get some Hairspray, not moose stuff, proper high fix hairspray. I'm not sure 100% but if it has Vinyl in it that tends to be the best stuff to use. Clean that gby Guchion - Prusa i3 and variants
Normally speaking the setting set by the software for temperatures override the firmware, this is certainly the case with Cura and printrun and Marlin firmware, i doubt it is different for repetier if that is actually what is on the board. When it stops heating, does the printer still respond or does it hard lock the printer? Do you have a fan blowing on the print head? Like the wiki mentions soby Guchion - Prusa i3 and variants
Ahh, you have a Melzi 1/2 hybrid, often sold as a v3 Have you looked the the can't connect bit on the wiki? Melzi entry on the wiki Copied here for reference: QuoteCan't connect to the Melzi (FTDI driver problem) There has been an issue where a FTDI driver update, pushed out through Microsoft update, disables Melzi controllers that have a non-genuine FTDI chip. This chip is used for USB commuby Guchion - Prusa i3 and variants
I take it your Z end stop is triggering at the correct position yes? Is that your whole Configuation.h? it looks too short. Unless its a really old version i've not seen before!by Guchion - Prusa i3 and variants
Could be, I take it theirs no obvious damage to the board? Take it out an inspect the components and check for any dry solder joints. If theres damage you might be able to repair it, if not it would be worth picking up a replacement board or a cheap RAMPs (depending on how standard your printer is) to replace it with.by Guchion - Prusa i3 and variants
Can you try swapping the stepper motor out with a different one (borrow a x/y axis one for instance) just to rule out a bad motor? Also are you using a geared extruder or a direct drive, can you post a picture?by Guchion - Prusa i3 and variants
Not done Servo myself, but I've some experience with the auto bed leveling, can you post your configuration file? Also when you say latest do you mean stable 1.02 or RC3?by Guchion - Prusa i3 and variants

Do you know what Firmware and controller board it has? A link to the product could help, or pictures of the controllerby Guchion - Prusa i3 and variants
Lets take a step back first. You say you couldn't install the driver? What Controller are you using, a RAMPS or somthing else. I suspect you may simply need the Serial driver installed If its a cheap chinese Ramps+Mega kit you may need a CH340(g) USB to Serial interface driver. if not install the Arduino driver since you'll probably want that later anyway. Assuming your printer has some verby Guchion - Prusa i3 and variants
I user 20 for the sensor and auto tuned my PID, works fine! although low temps seem to be off a touch. Older versions of Marlin do not have 20, you might need to update.by Guchion - General Mendel Topics
It seems to me these days that its easier and quicker just to get a bag of bit off ebay than build a bootstrap. To build a bootstrap you'll need something to replace the plastic parts with, and pretty much theres not a whole lot of the final printer your not going to end up needing for the bootstrap. I guess the question is, what is the minimum viable printer? Lets look at the most basic designby Guchion - General
Thanks for the advice guys, will definitely fit a fan. I've had to do a partial re-build after a clog and melt indecent so its out of commission for now But at least its given me the excuse to re-build with some improvements!by Guchion - Printing

Hello This is my first post, and I'm having some problems, particularly with overhangs and what looks like build up of excess material. and some wierd holes in the top layer of the roof. I've added a few pics of some test prints. Its a fairly generic i3 Prusa with a e3d v6 0.4mm hotend. Tempratures were bed at 60c and end at 190c throughout. Its my first printer and it was kit built, any questioby Guchion - Printing
