I had problems in the beginning with a wobbly usb connector on the Arduino, after I taped it to secure it the problems were gone.

that's my experience too, nophead. I first used a rather thick soulution, but it gave me more warp etc. Now I use a very sparse solution, it get's objects to stick better, less warping, less cleaning up. Thin layers of abs juice also make it easier to (re)whipe the entire build bed. /tom

My guess is that the filament gets too soft in the upper part of the hotend. Either try to print at a slightly lower temperature (if that's possible) or add a cooling fan aimed at the upper part of the hotend.

sound has fixed the stringing issue (there was not retract activated when travelling between the objects) it's in the latest github version, so it will make it's way into the precompiled version sooner or later

Sublime, I've downloaded your zip too, and the Netfabb desktop application shows degenerated faces all around. Are you sure the zip contains the right file? /tom

I think this is more a Norton problem than a slic3r problem.... I quit using Norton stuff about 10 years ago, exactly for this reason, apparently nothing has changed

no, really, I didn't! The only thing I did was hack Greg's openscad file a bit because I want the idler to use m4 instead of m3......

I had no problems printing Greg's, the first bridge layer was not perfect, but good enough for the next layer to rest on. Partly caused by me not tuning the bridge settings Greg's with slic3r

hmm, ordered on monday morning, stuff arrived 3 days later. I've never had but good experiences with mendel-parts. And I can assure you that Camiel, who owns the shop, is not a jerk.

you should check if you have the right thermistor table in your firmware. You can also check the resistance of the thermistor (unplugged from RAMPS). If it is a 100k thermistor, it should read 100ohm at room temperature. The motor getting hot without moving and humping directs to too much current. Try adjusting the pot on the pololu driver board.

Hi Arcol's hot end doesn't fit directly to the original Wades. The Wades however that's included in the prusa build files has been modified for direct fit to Arcol's hot end.

I don't feel happy about the license either, I agree. But it doesn't bother me. I don't think the license clauses can be held easely against me, whatever part of Arcol's I use or reproduce, for the same reasons you mention. You can't license a brick of aluminium with holes in it, unless it's a unique design. Same for a ptfe tube etc etc. Sebastien's concern about printing rp parts with and be not

I don't think makergears hot end is open source either, but that doesn't make Rick a scam. I respect the rights people have to protect the time & money they invest in developing new and/or improved things.

Hi, don't know what's bothering you, but I think Arcol is just protecting his investment a little. Arcol is a very nice guy who can be found often on the reprap irc channel. I'm 100% sure he's no scammer, in fact I ordered his hotend last week and expect it to arrive next week.
