I have an older mendel than I upgraded to to a ramps. I rearaged where things sit so that there is more room at the top. However, now when I try to build some thing more than 232 layer high it work great up to 220 and then stop rising in the Z direction after that. I can i sit there and move the belt after each layer is made and it works out ok. What I am looling for is where in skeinforge/prby Erbanmap - General Mendel Topics
Ok, Thanks. How many turns should I turn right or left? I have X Z and E running well and the get a little warm. Maybe 34C. However the Y is getting to be about 70C when it turns. If I "dial back" the pot the stepping just buzzes and won't turn. If I raise it up to the point were it operated correctly it gets hot. Is there something in the firmware that I can set. I am using pronterfaceby Erbanmap - Reprappers
Oh my. I have a simple question that doen't require a lot of theary and discriptions for current measurement and voltages. On the A4988 if I turn the potentiometer in a counter clock wise direction will that cool off the stepper motors some? Seems like counter clock wise is less. The data sheet and discription take up pages and page of EE speak but the simple things like turn right more curreby Erbanmap - Reprappers
Well I whined to soon. I now have Rep G talking to my RAMPS. I have X, Y and Z working. I have the X endstop working. I did fry one of the step controlers so I have to wait till I get a new one. I was using the techzone thermal wire and thier AD module to get temp readings. So it looks like the RAMPS understands thermoresister instead. The good news is I have one. So tonight I will be workinby Erbanmap - RAMPS Electronics
Yup that helped at least further along. I was able to connect to the Ramps. I uploadeded the Marlin firmware. All good. I tried to connect with Replicator G 23. Sort of wierd character showed up but in the end failled to connect. I tried to load firmware from Rep G. That worked. Then failled to connect. and LEDs come on showing red. They blink once when I try to connect then stay on red.by Erbanmap - RAMPS Electronics
I had a working mendel based on the defunked techzone electronics. In the course of getting it to work I changed out the techzone end opti end stops for Makerbot optis. I recently tried to start using Replicator G with my mendel. It would not connect. So I thought I needed to upgrade my electonics. I got an assembled RAMPS 1.4 from Utilmachine. I took the old part off and started to wireby Erbanmap - RAMPS Electronics
I am in the mt vernon area. However, good news I am printing parts. The wooded extruder block that is part of the techzone hot end has worked out so well for me making abs part so I got a piece of peek and tried that instead of wood as the thermal barrier. The peek melted a little bit and the tip fell out. So I got a piece of brass and drilled and tapped it to accept the brass tip. I stillby Erbanmap - Baltimore/Wash. DC (and environs) RUG
Hay. I have the TechZone Main and Extruder boards. I have no idea what SDA/SCL D9/D10 are. Techzone= 0 docs. Could you please show me a picture of what you are talking about. I thing I would like to go with the idea of Seperate stepper controller for the Extrdr stepper but I don't have a handle on the pinouts or what they do. ( newby here) I am having no luck getting anything more than blinby Erbanmap - Firmware - mainstream and related support
What ground are you talking about. I have just started to work on the extruder and I have not got anything to work. Please post a picture of how you have it connected. Thanks BIllby Erbanmap - General Mendel Topics
I am having extruder problems as well. Do I only have to load firmware to the extruder conroler or to both the main and etrder? At the moment I have all three axis moving. But when I load the onewire firmware things aren't so good. When I start the reprap software sometimes all three axis start to go home without any command to do so. I can't get the stepper extruder stepper to mover at allby Erbanmap - General Mendel Topics
I have a techzone LC mendel. It came with a plastic extruder ( wades I think ) I didn't have the springs to put pressure on the filament. Silly me I thought the by buying a kit I would get assembly instructions. Ha! The wiki and is all I can find and I am thankful to get it. But it leaves a lot out. I don't understand how anyone puts these together unless they already have one nearby to loby Erbanmap - General Mendel Topics
I have bought a LC Mendal from techzone. Silly me I thought that buying a kit would include instructions. Now I have have a bench full of part and hardly a clue as to how to put them together. I have been using the wiki and have the X axis ( I think) I am having trouble with the Y axis. I wish there was a step by step set of instructions. I haven't even started on the electronics yet.
