Cool, very good to hear that. Thanks a lot.by RobotMenace - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
I know a piece such as this couldn't be printed, but no single feature is the problem. Apart from alignment problems would there be anything stopping me from "cutting" the design up into two parts, printing part one, rotating it, and printing part two directly on top? Would the ABS bond or would I have to pre heat the top of part one to help that along? EDIT: D'oh, wrong place. I'm sorry but Iby RobotMenace - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
There's already projects out there using the same idea to run laser projectors, is a really cool example. The best way to get this working would be a Linux set up with a realtime kernel and some Jack goodness me thinks but you would run into a lot of problems too. Though this could be a good idea on an EMC2 set up to easily get the temp readings from the extruder, that's got me thinking a bitby RobotMenace - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
Thanks for the tips criswilson01, I'll sure give it a try once I've got more parts together.by RobotMenace - Mechanics
The RepStrap/light cnc mill I'm making is going to use leadscrews, could this nub idea be used in that with enough accuracy and strength? Just asking 'cause while the trapezoidal thread is cheap enough the nuts are a bit pricey.by RobotMenace - Mechanics
Bear, wouldn't sealing and painting the plywood parts help negate this problem a bit? It might work just well enough to make the the fibreglass composite route a bit OTT, especially as I'd be guessing it wouldn't be as exposed to the elements as your back doorby RobotMenace - General New Machines Topics
First of all I'd like to apologise if I've put this in the wrong section. Well I've got my axes designed and tested and now I'm ready to start scaling up and buying in supplies, the only real missing link now been the extruder cold end. Now the major goal is to make the smallest practical RespStrap possible so a Bowden extruder is probably a must. But I can't work out if Adrian's or Wade's extruby RobotMenace - General Mendel Topics
