QuotePulsemedia autoleveling than adding a stepper to each corne yea clicked to that, am putting down too a DOH moment been following thisby jinx - Reprappers
how would you go about adding four motors to adjust the heat bed hight, would we really want the extra weight on it. I don't see a need for such a feature on a prusa mendel and the only time you would is when the mechanical endstop start to ware and then I just swap it outby jinx - Reprappers
hi, I suspect a lot off the quality over function issue is down to time for these small start up firm when it come to printing the parts but those parts are of such poor quality defy believe any business would produce such parts then expect others too buy them especially for a $600.00 kit. The Prusa mendel i2 ain't known for its speed but it does produce good prints when I print the i2 mby jinx - General
hi, QuoteCould you let us know where you bought the kit? not my kit and am not sure where cevinius got it from am guessing he is sleeping at the mo. he's an Aussie, he's becoming a reprap member so am sure he can tell us later. judging by tht pic there is infill. over all the parts appear printed on a poorly calibrated printer I built three prusa mendel printed parts for five, I expect aby jinx - General
HI, Theirs a new prusa mendel kit supplier doing its round on on the web seen on DX/ebay but the plastic part leave a lot to be desired, thought we share some pictures of the parts.the unboxing at almost $600 I expected a lot better and wondering if anyone else had a similar experience of the parts.by jinx - General
hi, with the merlin still being a relative new hotend you may well one of the first to use it , I have no experience with the mk8 direct drive but am thinking " #define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {79.512,79.614,2566.88,760} the last value on that line will need reducing. maybe adding the a post in the general section may offer better resultsby jinx - General Mendel Topics
HI, after reading again and rereading " takes a few reads to sink in ". I fully appreciate the moderator move to calm the recent thread, and as I recall some of the other thread that were heading down a similar road,, If my off the cuff comment of " censorship " has offended any of the moderators I apologise. wasn't my plan to accuse any of the moderators of censorship " please excuse my pooby jinx - General
hi,,QuoteFeel free to open a new one well i did but it doesn't make much sense to me chopping a thread in half to diffuse a few heated replies, that then disrupts the flow of the thread what happens when one half is lost in the forum abyss. QuoteThis way everybody has to step back for a moment, usually this also means they re-think about what's the real topic. that makes a lot sense, butby jinx - General
is it possible the belts are a bit tight or the pulley's lose.by jinx - General Mendel Topics
HI, "who decides to close a thread" is a group, a single admin/moderator. seen a few thread disappear or closed because an individual doesn't like the way a discussion is heading,,well isn't that just censorship of the worst kind. We all grown adults all with different views on a "tomato" . Do we really need to be told how too say it!!. or type in fear off "I may offend someone" and have my thby jinx - General
"I have tried everything its gets jammed ALL THE TIME". am wondering when you sliced a object what retraction setting you used. if using slic3r it in the extruder setting. doesn't take a lot to plug a all metal hotend.by jinx - General
its something that's needs to be put back in, makes a quality filament change impossible when using multi colour in a print.by jinx - General
am using pronteface all i do to find the center is home the printer, manually move the nozzle till its over the thermistor in the center of the heatbed ,enter M114 (marlin F/ware) and "bob's yr uncle " the value off the axis is returnedby jinx - Reprappers
I just come across this . Am using the latest pronterface paused a print but there no "RESUME" button, has anyone else come across this? has it moved? jinxby jinx - General
Quotedsnijders it simply does not work. what you mean, find tht hard believe ,at the very least you can push filament though it by handby jinx - General
hi, Quoteluigi Since the E3D is pretty large wich reduces the build volume quiet a bad to be frankly honest. not know which printer you using, get the E3D and install a bowden feed and gain more than you lose " frankly" that's assuming you not already moved too the bowden setup.by jinx - Reprappers
Hi, So you spent the time, money and energy into building your printer , now you gonna stick a nasty Chinese clone that will be badly finished, melt before your eye's,great combo they sell it for less without the boltby jinx - General
hi, take it it only happens when crossing the print??, if that the case then find the setting in slicer where you lift the Z axis by .5 while traveling across the print..by jinx - Reprappers
hi, for 20 euro " without link" it could be a china clone in which case buy two. Don't be cheap on the hotend its a/the most important part, my choice would combo J head. save a little more and grab the E3D hotend. then you be able to print with any filament, have fun jinxby jinx - General Mendel Topics
hi, Quotehave you got any examples of print quality?, this is one of the reasons i've partially abandond the all metal idea for use with pla Am using the the E3D with PLA brilliant result this hotend will restore your faith in all metal, got a couple of vids of the blue mask, not great but the results are. colour changing is also much more controllable compared to J head mkV, due in part thby jinx - Reprappers
hi check out prusa mendel i2, lots of support online, parts can be easy to source and a pleasant build to a novice. and not knowing where you are in the world makes it tricky to recommend suppliers partsby jinx - Reprappers
hi, fk me google works driver even a data sheet. could be worth a look settingby jinx - Reprappers
hi, you read this about software setup I like marlin over sprinter " for no other reason I not used sprinter ><"by jinx - Reprappers
Hi, Amazon filament can be a hit and miss when it comes quality, faberdashery as pricey as is, is still the best for assured quality , if possible get both a filament from Amazon and fab. to compare.by jinx - General
Hi, The J head mkv and the Greg's reloaded match made in haven , I don't see why you need the Ali plate in yr setup. Can't you insert the j head into the extruder doing away with the plate.by jinx - General Mendel Topics
I have good result using cheap baby wet wipes. Just wipe glass lay the tape leave for a couple of min lay the next.by jinx - General
hi, QuoteWith that method of simply changing the filament do you end up with noticeable joints from where you have raised and lowered the print head ? no so far been seamless transition, just push in the filament in until you see a little fila come out the nozzle, tighten the idler an lower, I do try to make changes while doing the infill, QuoteThe is no disadvantage using the Greg's relby jinx - General
Leave it alone, one spool there got out golden brown has what appears to be metal particles, massive lumps where the filament appears joined together, Cheap shit in my view.by jinx - General
