you able to remove the filament ? is it possible you turned the printer off while the hotend still hot, heatcreep took hold! ,you know if you cant remove the filament. check the idler on extruder still gripping the filament. you change any slicer setting? is the hobbed bolt stripping filament you hear some form of clicking from the extruder.by jinx - Reprappers
assemble QuoteAh! So when you all went to the site did you think it was saying what would be shipped to you was a kit that included the 3d printed parts? this did "and send you only what you need, we first need to work together to figure out exactly what parts we need and where the best place to buy them is" I was left with the impression I get everything needed for a complete build. maybe somewby jinx - General
take this example TANK first ten backs the project helps fund supplies for the next 10 products or so then prepares a build manual which is then what! sold on by you/site, have you the creators consent to sell something to which they applied a License with a NonCommercial aspect of the License. just wondering how that works.by jinx - General
its not so shocking confusing a jhead with a e3d! if you new.. but making a vid about it. just shocking and posting on G+ only one thing for it fun aside "Educate DONT CRUSH!!.by jinx - General
OOOO you gonna get a different answer every time!! I started of with and still use Pronterface for pc/ printer interface its handy for calibration tuning, then Slic3r to convert models into Gcode... those are the only two you need to get printing, another slicer is Cura another interface Repetier host all good fun and aint that hard to learn with plenty of support out there for each of themby jinx - General
any one got the tech drawing and dimension of the V6 and V5, just checked the v4&5 they dont fit a clone titan. nor does a Jhead mkvb. but a $5 clone v6 does so it aint the end of the world the top groove reported as 3.7 mm for v5/v6 yet the v5 here measuring closer to 4mm, the grove on the titan clone closer to 3.8mm and the v6 clone top grove come in as 3.60 why they fit!! now my dodby jinx - General
this looks like some funky fun to have, but you lacking details for others to follow. you mention INKS so you swapped the extruder for a pen? you make a pen holder. how you convert an image into Gcode ?by jinx - General Mendel Topics
my guess is they re branded someone else's over stock, or their in disgust with us cheap ass brits not wanting to pay moreby jinx - General
yea the V2 was too tempting pass over ,just need a brit supply of virgin pellets to feed it now. Got an Ebay supply of PLA from lithuania of all places, 5 kg for £24 +postageby jinx - General
further into the rabbit hole!!.. if I can master PLA it bring down the cost of a 1 kg £7.80 there about. "wallet can live with that".by jinx - General
good stuff happy printingby jinx - Reprappers
if you followed Dust advice and it still doesn't work you need to swap the leads so ext 1 of the LCD goes into ext2 of the adaptor and ext2 into ext 1....but you also need to rotate the headers 180 and cut slits into the adaptor headers to accommodate grooves. double check you selected the right controller in firmware. you can do this to the LCD controller or the adaptorby jinx - Reprappers
is it possible a grub screw come loose in the coupling?by jinx - Reprappers
for PLA mk3 aluminium flipped over at 55C and a smudging of gluestick its a bond made in heaven!. downside is you have to wash/scrape off the old glue once a week as it dries out to leave a lumpy chalky white substance which left untreated make a ugly first layer. the other downside theirs no guarantee the bed comes flat! ever y one i have came warped!. but what ever you got now try a littby jinx - Reprappers
depends on driver I think which is required USB or external. i do this power up take a reading, then turn off and adjust. just keep a steady hand while taking the reading. all to easy to short the pins and kill a driver.by jinx - General
have a read of the link Dust provided though I personally I dont believe there a "proper current" it always need tweaking for individuals machine but it gets you close. just remember to power down/off before making adjustment to the driversby jinx - General
QuoteMaria I didn't understand what you are saying use google translate!!! fun aside... I think you need to be a little more specific who you replying too. they are discussing these > images which I cant relate too, I had better results from both those hotend with PLA.by jinx - General
NO ONE should confuse/compare a clone with the genuine article , "I have two mkV and they are worlds apart from there grubby clone counterpart ". if you gonna just use PLA the J head a good choice no need for extra wiring of a fan, smaller than a V6 you can print as low 178C. a jinxy fact: the Jhead has to be one of the smallest hotends on the market think the Deltaprintr Mini Hotend the onlyby jinx - General
this hotend configurable between 1.75 and 3.00 by swapping the liner, just I dont see it mentioned and its a bonus feature for us brits with 1.75 drying upby jinx - General
dont know about letting the bed cool, I used a soft PLA and allowing the bed to cool made it even harder to get off.by jinx - General
Quotedc42 order a few PCBs from a Chinese prototype PCB manufacturer, use one or two yourself and sell or give the rest to others. Soldering SMD components is not difficult with solder paste and a hot plate I dont know why I overlooked that DIY for PCBs, though soldering smd yea its possible but I fear it drive people away with frustration with complexity frustration even with a toaster ovenby jinx - General
Is opensource still relevant to reprap and reprappers like it used to be, theirs folk here that will openly share projects and builds and do so without flinching about terms and licences, where others can build along with and build upon far beyond what the creator imagined. once an idea takes hold. But today's reprap full of well engineered products and choices, though its seems rather haby jinx - General
Just seeing what options gonna be out there. makerbase git hub direct users too the smoothieware!. thought it a bit of bargain to get an insight to smoothieware for under £40, while waiting for the SB v2 but after reading the first twenty pages this i dont wanna get involved with that wrangling, I rather avoid using smoothieware. if am gonna spend £££ on a new board expect that latest cortex M4.by jinx - General
Will there ever be a marlin 32bit that will run on Mks Sbase 1.3. its seems a good board close to what a ramps offer, and at £37 its right up there in the budget range.by jinx - General
Quoteo_lampe I also consider " going all the way" and building/modding a CoreXY printer. you seen the hypercube on the thingiverse, its a nice design and well documented I cannablised an mendel i2 +£60 am happy with it been a great introduction, to corexy. The x axis supposed to be10 mm tubing but I just used 8 mm bar there few option in the remix section. the orginal a little short on Z at 160by jinx - Reprappers
till the carriage falls of the end!! all those little balls bouncing around the floor. least you have the magnetic attraction to pick them up!!by jinx - General
you homing axis first? what the endstop reporting "M119 in the serial window"by jinx - General
he probably split his Z wheres this fifth I dont see it? I see he used a ribbon for each axis coupled with the endstops. why we care anyway its a 1.2 board aint we discussing 1.3/4by jinx - General
@dragonfire aint that RAMPS 1.2 then came the 1.3 with 5 drivers then the 1.4 mass produced SMD version either way its a pitty there no 1.5 for the 32 bit age with quality components, think in some ways a DIY 1.3 RAMPS be a better option for the re-arm " user choice over componentsby jinx - General
