De electronica alleen kun je in 2 avonden in elkaar solderen als je doorwerkt. Ik heb er een paar weken over gedaan, maar dat kwam door het wachten op onderdelen, verkeerde onderdelen bestellen, weer wachten. Beter gezegd: solderen kun je in een week, de meeste tijd bij het bouwen van een reprap gaat in het uitzoeken hoe het in elkaar moet, welke spullen je nodig hebt, bestellen en wachten. So I ordered a thick sheet from mendel-parts (and it got delivered in time ) and some resistors (2.2 ohms with aluminium heat sink) from RS. I have a PC power supply with 12 volts. I put some cooling paste between the resistor and the heated bed. When I put 12v on one resistor it gets very hot quickly. It did blew it. When I put 12V on two resistors they get warm, but not much. After two weeks of tweaking, I seem to have achieved much better results. I was having multiple problems at ones, making it a running target. Most importantly, the Y-axis has been a pain. The pulley would come lose after a few prints. Some glue fixed that. Also my lack of knowledge of skeinforge made it difficult. Makkelijk solderen van gen3 hangt af van je eigen kunnen Ik vond het te doen : het werkt, maar je moet er wel je tijd voor nemen en het leuk vinden. Voor een techniek in ontwikkeling, zoals de reprap is modulariteit voor mij een must have. Als je gewoon een 3d printer wil gewoon kan printen en er verder zelf niet aan wilt sleutelen in gen6 het beste. Ik dacht dat gen6 ook niet on linux werkt, mby brupje - Dutch User Group - Archive
I spend the whole evening calibrating skeinforge. At first I was cursing it, but now I am kinda loving it. I do think I made some progress. Although the results are far from perfect. I have a mendel with gen3 electronics, a geared adrian's extruder, default firmware,PLA and the reprap host software. After a few iterations, my printing quality seems to get a bit better. But I still have some problems. Picture 1 & 2 show the output I had previously. They have a lot of lumps. Mostly cause by the reprap pausing to long at one spot, spitting out a blob of PLA before printingby brupje - Reprappers

In the SN75176A of the extruder board. It's a small chip with 8 pin's, used for communication between the extruder an mainboard. There is also a SN75176A on the mainboard. What I did is pressing gently with a screwdriver on the different pins. By pressing on pin 2 I found the contact was loose. So you might want to try that on both the extruder and the mainboard.by brupje - General Mendel Topics

I have gen3 electronics I tried it with sda/sdl connected, no difference. Although I don't understand why I need I2C for an extruder. The grounding is something I will try.
