also PLA Red 3mm is back in stock nowby brupje - For Sale

I decided to design a spool system for my mendel. I had some y-bar-clamps laying around so, I just needed to have something to hold a bearing. It turned out quite sturdy, also I like the idea to be able to easily swap a spool and allow for different sizes of spools. See thingiverse for molre detailsby brupje - Reprappers

I am a software developer, so pretty technical I guess. But I didn't had much experience with electronics or building robots when I started. It was a long road, but mostly due to me wanting it to take it step by step. I don't think it is really hard to build a reprap, it will take a lot of time an aptience though.by brupje - Reprappers

hard to tell without the schematics. But on the 'normal' stepstick it would be the left pad and upper right. If your multimeter supports measuring resistance, you might want to use that to determine how far the trimpot is open.by brupje - Controllers

I have multiple working RAMPS setups, but with another opto end stop. You will have to solder another row of pins. Please check the wiring first. I think the RAMPS has different pin setup than the original end stops, so connecting them might cause them to blow up.by brupje - RAMPS Electronics
ah cool, you are much further than I am. When do you expect to be able to release the files?by brupje - RAMPS Electronics
I have blown a few wirewound resistors, but no flying metal. I think because they are made for high power, they die in a controlled way. The smell is probably the most dangerous, it's pretty bad.by brupje - Developers

Some PSU's have multiple 12V lines, and the max current is calculated as the sum of all lines. So you might be overloading one line. Although if you tried multiple PSU's that is unlikely. I have pretty expensive PSU, with two 12V lines. Each for one segment of the heated bed.by brupje - General
I think this is a great initiative. I like the less is more concept :p I wouldn't allow kids to play unsupervised with stuff that can get 200C in the first place.by brupje - General
