Photo of completed printer attached.... All parts were purchased 6 years ago, steppers are Nema17, 1.8deg. Marlin is uploaded on Megatronics v2.0. With a lack of electronics background I am find it hard to find any information at my level, how to configure, connect etc... I don't expect anyone to go into too much detail as I am happy to learn but can't seem to find a starting point. Thanks fby wamaker - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Whoops I was a bit vague, must be due to my birth date... Yes it is based on a Prusa i3 but I used 80/20 aluminium extrusions for all the framework so I thought this was an appropriate site to ask questions. All parts for this project was purchased 6 years ago, so hardware, software and firmware would all be candidates for up grade. My first priority would be just to get it going, but I am sureby wamaker - Extruded Aluminum Frames
I have finally completed the build of a 80/20 framed Prusa i3 with an upgraded build platform 300 x 300 x 300. I used a Megatronics v2.0 board, 12v and 24v power supplies. I would like to point out this has been my first sojourn into 3d printing with very little background electronics knowledge. Looking for suggestions for improving the original design specs. at this stage I plan to keep the Meby wamaker - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Hi, I would like to use a 24v heater bed with Megatronics V2.0 Megatronics V2.0 . The board only allows 12v input, how can I do this. Andrewby wamaker - General New Machines Topics
I am building a Prisa i3, Repetier will this offset calibration be available for other types of 3D printers too??? Great work.by wamaker - Repetier
Hi my ceramic hotend and geared steppers arrived today . Are there any drawings parts to hold the hotend and your geared stepper motor? I am guessing that this Aluminum Groove Mount Plate for Hot End fits . but I can't seem to find the whole set up. Thanks. Andrewby wamaker - For Sale
Thanks for clearing that up. Any recommendations as to power supplies??by wamaker - Reprappers
Not being an electronics expert and having read the datasheet I am a little confused with the following. 1. If you run a 24V heater bed can you run 12V steppers? 2. Do I connect 12V to 12V1 and 24V to 12V2 to run a 24V heater? 3. I am looking at using a siliconve heater bed, the 12V Draws Up to 20 Amps and the 24V Draws Up to 10 Amp, is the board capable of handling this? Thanksby wamaker - Reprappers
What hotend are you using???by wamaker - Printing
Where can I find the details for the compact extruder??? Thanksby wamaker - Printing
Just picked up a 18 year old Epson dot matrix printer, it has DC motors in it :-(. Andrewby wamaker - General New Machines Topics
I have pulled apart a few printers but they have all had DC motors (2 wires). There are certainly plenty out there for FREE. I have just come across a company locally that recycles old IT gear for resale into 3rd world countries and they have a lot of redundant stuff they just throw out. I will be collecting some samples of these to pull apart. I will post some pictures. Andrewby wamaker - General New Machines Topics
Hi, Just found this thread and I am fascinated with the concept of recycling printer/scanner parts for reprap/cnc. The only question I have at this stage is how old should the printer/scanners be to be of any use? Or just collect them, pull them apart and see what is usefull???? wamakerby wamaker - General New Machines Topics
