Bingo, I found it with Google's help of course!!!! There is an option #define DELTA_HOME_TO_SAFE_ZONE, which causes the effector to move down to an un-restricted movement area after homing. I commented that out and now it just homes to the endstops and stays at the top. That was puzzling!!by n9jcv - Delta Machines
I should also add, that after homing I can go all the way to top or bottom with these commands; g0 z0 all way to the bed g0 z140 all the way to the top so I am puzzled why the homing stop midway to the bedby n9jcv - Delta Machines
I am working on a Delta Bot. It is 140mm high. When I go to pronterface and home, xyz all go up and bump the endstops, then the effector moves down, but not all the way to the bed. I measure the move down at about 62mm. I can not seem to figure out why it stops short of the bed. M119 after homing shows this; SENDING:M119 Reporting endstop status x_min: open x_max: open y_min: open y_max: openby n9jcv - Delta Machines
That would be EXACTLY what I want, but it says it is not available for Marlin. I thought I had already checked the list, but it is possible I missed something. Any other ideas?by n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
The G28 homes xyz all together for Deltas. All three move to the top, sequentially and bump the endstops, then they all move to 0,0,0 Correct? So, is there a command that will cause the xyz to go to the max endstop, and just stop there, rather than homing afterwards? Thanksby n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
There is a huge thread about this, some have various versions of 1.1.x working One guy DerAnder has a 2.0 version working and it sounds like 2.0 will support thru Hangprinter like architecture multiple axis Github 4th axis Marlin Using the info in that thread I was able to get it working (kind of dirty like) in 1.1.8 where my E0 is a 4th axis and I can home it.by n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
I do not believe your above changes should/would cause it to reboot. As a test, comment out the 4 lines above by adding // in front of them. Then try to home a single axis in pronterface. x, y and z should home perfectly 100% of the time in pronterface. If they do not and as you say you did not change anything else, then your problem is not Marlin, but hardware related. Can you post number/by n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
couple of things to try, Just thru pronterface, home x, y and z separately then home all see if that works, My feeling is your voltages are dropping and that is why it is re-booting when more current is needed. Besides modifying the config file have you modified Marlin in any other way? What version of Marlin are you running?by n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
Not exactly sure how I solved this, making so many changes and testing, but I now have it working; Gcode looks like this; G21 ;METRIC G90 ;ABSOLUTE POS M82 ;M82 EXTRUDER ABSOLUTE G1 E-200 F100 ;HOME E SWITCH WOULD BE HIT M400 ;WAIT FOR PLANNER MOVES M121 ;DISABLE ENDSTOPS TO MOVE AWAY G92 E0 ;SET POSITION TO ZERO G1 E2 F500 M400 ;WAIT FOR PLANNER MOVES M120 ;ENABLE ENDSTOPSby n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin

I am having a bit of difficulty with something new I am working on. I am trying to add some new functionality for a robot and I am sure there are things I do not understand about Marlin. I have literally been up every night this week til early morning trying to get this to work and just need a bit of assistance please. Thank you Dust, actually for me at 1.1.8 it is in enum.h but with your help I found it, I will give this a try enum EndstopEnum { X_MIN, Y_MIN, Z_MIN, Z_MIN_PROBE, X_MAX, Y_MAX, Z_MAX, X2_MIN, X2_MAX, Y2_MIN, Y2_MAX, Z2_MIN, Z2_MAX, E_MIN, E_MAXby n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
I am trying to make a change to 1.1.8 to add an E endstop, it will be a 4th axis. Anyway, I have the program endstops.cpp is where I am having a compile issue and I can't seem to figure it out, because I am new to C++. here is the relevant code void Endstops::report_state() { if (endstop_hit_bits) { #if ENABLED(ULTRA_LCD) char chrX = ' ', chrY = ' ', chrZ = ' ', chrP = ' ';by n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
Dust, thanks for the suggestion. I read that and it was a bit more involved than I expected. I am new to github and marlin work. I thought they would let you fork any release, but appears you can only fork branches. And each release does not have a branch. But Github supports the repository that holds the code for all the releases. Does not make sense to me. Why they just don't support forby n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
I for the life of me can not figure out how to make a fork of Marlin 1.1.8. I am new to Github. When I go there it appears only to let you select 1.0x, 1.1.x, Marlin-RTOS, bugfix-1.0x and bugfix-2.0x. Those are the only branches listed. If I use google to find release 1.1.8 there is a download zip, but if I click fork from the release, it gives me 1.1.9 UGGGG So is it possible to make aby n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
Did you have the halting issue and did the BF fix that for you? If so I may give that a try tonight. Thanks for your inputby n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
I have a MKS Gen L board, 1 stepper motor and 1 endstop switch. I am making some changes to Marlin and testing with the board, stepper and endstop only. No Printer. I am using Cura 15.04, 0 infill, vase mode solid bottom.by n9jcv - Printing
I seem to always have this issue on vases. One vase at the top, the other at the bottom. I do believe I have the extruder calibrated properly. But why just parts of the vases, in different areas have the roughness?by n9jcv - Printing
First answer was what I was needing. Thanks allby n9jcv - Delta Machines
I don't have that printer and since no one else has replied, I will chime in. The acrylic triangles will not provide enough support and you will have stability issues. Part of the reason it is so cheap. If it is your 1st printer I would not recommend it.by n9jcv - Delta Machines
I used to have a delta and sold it, so I do not know a way to find an answer to this question, short of buying another and I would like to not buy any more. Here is the question say you are at a point 50mm above the bed. Now you want to go straight/perpendicular to the bed - down. Can you simply subtract 20 from Z and move 20mm closer to the bed? I am trying to find out if I can move strby n9jcv - Delta Machines
I am not sure if there is somewhere else to ask, I looked at Github, but their community did not seem to have a specific forum for Marlin. I would like to take a fork of Marlin, to use as a base and make modifications to alter this software for a robot of sorts. When I complete my work I would make it all available on GitHub under the same license terms as Marlin currently has. I do not expectby n9jcv - Firmware - Marlin
Hello, I am just experimenting and trying to add a new M code and a new sensor. I would like to be able to do various items in my new M code based on whether or not my sensor is triggered. My experience has been mostly printing in PLA, as I was never a big fan of ABS fumes. I have printed tens of rolls of PLA, always with good results. I use PLA from Microcenter, the Inland brand. I am sharing information about a deal on hardware for those in the U.S. I have ordered from Trimcraft Aviation RC in the past. I have no financial interest in the company, just a happy customer and I have negotiated a special deal for the RepRap community.
