This is strange, but I can't find lens with AR coating in sale. Using lenses is better because energy isn't lost (almost) compared to a collimator?by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
Sorry, Victor, but I never got around to buy that laser (M1F4S22-808.3-50C-SS2.1 - 50 watts of power). I find another M1F2S22-976.2-130C-IS34.2 (wavelength 975,7 nm). Is 3.1nm line width obtained when using a collimator with this laser diode? How do you think? The power supply scheme is no different than what you provided. But I attached it to this post. QuoteVDX "not at full power" - do you mean faulty diodes? Yes, you understood me correctly.by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
Viktor, I also have question about focusing of laser . As I can see, you used self-made focal lens. What lens did you use? Is it better to use system "laser diode - fiber - focal lens" (not to mount laser diode on bridge of CNC machine, mount only focal lens)? Did you ever take laser diodes and they worked not at full power?by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
QuoteMKSA On the proposed schematic, The Mosfets are mounted to short circuit the power supply ! It was late and I mistaked. I attached correct scheme to this post. Quotedc42 How much do these diode lasers cost? Laser cost is 290$ US. QuoteMKSA For sure you will get powerful sparks of light but not from the laser diode ! Can you recommend scheme for control laser diode? QuoteVDX ... you still have no current regulation!! What can you say about this power supply with adjustable current?by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
I think to connect laser diode according this scheme. Using two parallel mosfets IRLB3034PbF:by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
What about NEL-400-5 with voltage adjustable range 4.5-5.5V?by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
I found a well power supply company Mean Well RSP-320-2.5 (they have normal documentation at least): It is 2.5V, adjustable between 2.35-2.85V. Voltage tolerance ± 2% and ripple 0.1V. Should this error of 2% be taken into account? After all, this error will not affect the ripple? To get into the range of 1.61V (emission voltage) and forward voltage of 1.73V, I think to lower voltage through Schby Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
I found model of laser and documentation on it. This is M1F4S22-808.3-50C-SS2.1. Voltage of emission starts at 1,61V, forward voltage is 1,73V. Current is 58,3A at 50W. Which power supply is suitable for this laser?by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
QuoteVDX ... search for some related threads here - Viktor, I found your posts about laser for sintering powder there And there about plastic welding. After that I found laserdiode like in your post - Jenoptik 20W And this one - Rofin 50W What can you say about these lasers?by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
Thank you for answer! Can I see review of your tests with fiber-lasers or laserdiodes? What company/brand of laserdiode (808nm to 975 nm) did you use?by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics
Hello everybody! I'm interesting about lasers for selective laser sintering of metal powder. I read that fiber lasers are good for this purpose. First of all I found second-hand fiber lasers on Ebay and that was nLIGHT's laser (this is not advert!): How much power and length of wave should be laser for sintering of metal powder?by Nathan_T - General New Machines Topics

I don't need for making laser engraving machine on surface. What can you say about this laser: There is information about laser, what I found (in pdf file). Does it suit for 3d engraving?by Nathan_T - General
Sorry, maybe it's silly question. Why I can't use this laser: If I know focal distance between focal plane and lens, I can make surface from dots. I understand that it will be too slow without XY-galvoscanners.by Nathan_T - General
Did you accept the message as spam because there is a link to the seller? I just wanted to ask the community and gave this link as an example So, I should use this YAG laser (for example):by Nathan_T - General
