And one more example, more than ten small parts on the plate, different ones. See before (no jitter at all) and after (new jitter with 2.0).
Optically I see less retractions and these are really much nearer to the corners. And this nice gcode viewer estimates total printing time 2:55 before and 2:33 after.
BTW do you know what is a difference between red-dot retraction and blue-dot retraction ?

I've tried this with MXL generated pulley. Doesn't look good with round base - I suppose it works just for sharp corners
Blue one was before - jitter plugin not active, the pulley had 16 teeth.
Black is with new plugin, jitter set to 2.0, this time pulley had 20 teeth. Looks fancy on layers with the hole - these are treated as corners, therefore the starting point is here as radus explained.

OK, I see.
Back to original topic - I don't use these settings anymore... In my objects there were too many solid layers during the print which slowed my printings quite a lot. My goal was to have just a seperate setting for top surfaces and I wasn't happy with the modification.

any info what the changes are? I'd love to see some photos as well :-)
In the code I've seen you do quite a lot of math out there, give us some more info what it does.
and last but not least - what jitter parameters do you suggest now with your plugin ?

radus, what is intersection? From the second picture it looks for me the same as bridge (it covers the hole under it).... What is the difference, could you please explain?
BTW - what is the software you use to analyze this gcode and give us the screenshots ?

I have 12mm rods everywhere on XYZ (450mm, next printer 500mm); I found 8mm too weak in my first Prusa printer...

Hi,
the side near the gantry, with one bearing looks like this, when generated for 12mm ball bearings:
A while ago I pushed my extruder "a bit" to clean it, and... the connection broke:
Is there any reason to have a gap there? Why not to fill it, the same way it is one the other side with 2 bearing holders? It will be much stronger.

I have M8 already, but I'd like to switch to trapezoidal one - 10x2 as 8mm trapezoidal spindles are very hard to get...

Hi,
I tried to generate x-ends for 12mm smooths rod and 10mm threaded rod. However, x-ends do not scale this way, so there is no place to put walls around M10 nut holder in x-ends. Also, it goes out too much and influences LM12UU holders.
Nophead, any plans to update the scripts to make it possible ?

DeuxVis - do you refer to my post or radus' ? If mine, let me explain. I recommend setting perimeter ratio as 1, because perimeters are already slowed down by another settings ("regular" perimeter ratio settings). Slowing it down even more at detected "as solid" layers would probably be visible when you look at finished object - these layers will have perimeters printed at other speed then the re

Hi guys!
I thought so... so I decided to change it and modify the Skeinforge plugins Here goes the first version, seems to be okay, but didn't test it yet too much, just browsed the generated g-codes.
The change in Fill plugin is to mark layers as solid in temporary penultimate gcode file - by introducing special isSolid tag.
The change in Speed plugin detects the solid layer and modifies the

Hi,
is there any way to set the speed for solid layers? There is a setting for base layers, but I cannot find it for solid layers...

as far as I remember loops are the inner object loops (eg like a torus has circle inside), not extra shells... I remember I tried it some time ago and that's how it was printed. But it was some time ago, I'm not 100% sure.

Hi guys!
This plugin is awesome Tried it yesterday with 0.2mm layer. I really really enjoy the sound of motors slowing down before moving to another island It's also great to turn CLIP off AND, one more thing you didn't mention - we can lower retraction distance! There's much lower pressure, so no need to rectract so much. I used 1mm previously, now tried 0.6mm with success, will try to lower

didn't have time to try it yet... jbernardis, could you please provide the STL (or thingi link) of your model, to try the same as you tried ?

I'll try it, however my clip settings are ok, I have nice looking circles. I'll try dwindle without clip and see how it works.

jbernardis, looks nice - any progress in avoiding this holes? maybe adjusting Clip plugin settings might help?

Yes, it was discussed. There's a modified skirt plugin to support brim (similar to Slic3r's brim)

ah, nice, I temporairly solved it with just adding 4mm to this variable: bearing_height = min(69, 2.8 * bearing_length);
Howevery checked your solution as well - works even better

Hi,
Nophead, I've defined LM12UU to be 30mm long - LM12UU = [30, 21, 12]; . However there seems to be a bug in your scripts...
This setting generates proper linear bearings holder for y bearings and x carriage - 30.4mm long, see in netfabb:
However, holders for Z axis (both x-idler and x-motor) are too short, they are 28.5mm... I had to totally cut off the delimiter between the bearings to f

Hi :-)
In my configuration and slicing with Skenforge I've discovered some bug. The bridge above the nut starts too low, so there's a gap just above the nut. This is a visualisation of this layer made under YARRH. Obviously it can't be printed properly
The solution is to make one more solid layer just above the nut, so the bridge will have no gaps.
Slicing with 0.3mm layer height, the same h

Well, a bit offtopic, but how do you calibrate it? I calibrate my extruder by extruding a few cm and checking how much filament was in fact extruded.
Is it all "just" experimenting and checking the printed object?

glad to inspire you to publish your idea I also see new SFACT is published as well!
Beside much less settings in your frontend I see you use different flow and feed rate - is it a must for PLA? I never had different values for these settings, always the same.

Hi guys,
I've created a simple Skeinforge GUI app to the settings I use the most. Be warned - it's not meant to replace Skeinforge nor Cura. It's just a life-simplifying tool
Released on https://github.com/acc-/SkeinGUI
Sources included and Linux/Windows binaries as well.
The main screen looks like this:
Hope you like it

Hi,
I've used 3 wires for both +12v and gnd, each of them AWG 28. I used 26-way ribbon cable, so I still have two free lines (one maybe for the cooler, and one extra). I heated the nozzle and the cables were not warm at all.
However if I did it again, I would use 4 wires. This is because Sanguinololu has 2 pins for both +12v and gnd, so I had to split one wire of 3. Now my connection to Sanguino

Ha! Got it. Looked again on the model and now I see that bar clamps mounting differ for left and right rods. I mounted mine all the same way with tightening screw to the right of the clamp. In the model I see now that screws for the right smooth rod are placed to the left - in the y-motor direction. Plus asymmetry - that explains everything and changes the width between smooth rods
Maybe in the

Nophead,
I was wondering why is there a misalignment between y-carriage bearing mounts and frame base y bar clamps. Attached SVG's I just took from github of sturdy and marked X positions of bearing mounts and y bar clamps. I added x positions to display for left-most drill point of left and right bearing mount and bar clamp to check the distance between them (which equals the distance between s

Hi,
while calibrating my printer with Slic3r first using this calibration object - 0.5mm-thin-wall, I had a single loop at every layer. Now I'm switching to Skeinforge, using latest version 50, and every layer has two perimeter loops... Layer height 0.4mm, P/W ratio is 1.8, so double wall will be far too wide.
I've been playing more with SF50 settings, turned almost all the plugins and what I d
