Yes, the machine is fully functional. I'll send the config and all the accessories I have printed for it as well (z-stabilizer, fan brackets, etc.).
FedEx insured shipping is $30 to Houston.
Thanks,
Jeff

I have 2 machines, so I decided to sell one to make room for a CNC. It is a gently used Prusa Mendel, with a mix of iteration 1 and 2 parts, the x-axis has been updated to i2, but most of the rest is gen1.
The machine is fully assembled, calibrated and working. The price is $650 + shipping (paypal only).
Please contact via pm or thread for shipping for the carrier of your choice (insured UPS o

I just wanted to say that I am another satisfied customer. The parts were high quality and I received them on my doorstep 3 days after I ordered them.
Thanks!

I would think the main constraint with this design would be fitting it to a Mendel. However, for a CNC conversion that is a non-issue.
I'm currently using resistors as heaters. In my opinion they are far easier to replace and use as heater elements vs nichrome and seem to work just as well. I'm using a very well heatsinked single 5W 5.8ohm resistors, and it is still working after 20+ hours of u

I'm not sure of an exact solution but this person had a similar problem:
Some possible solutions listed were to burn a new bootloader or replace the ATmega168 chip. You could also try a different USB-TTL cable. I'm still using Arduino IDE 0017, I had some problems with 0018 a long time ago. Arduino IDE 0017 works well for me.
Try checking all the pins with a multimeter to make sure you don't h

I'll link the mouser parts I ordered, though this was over a year ago most should still be valid or give you and idea.

Would it be possible/practical to edit the green theme to use a variable width instead fixed width? On widescreen monitors this would help out the reading area quite a bit. At 1900x1280 that leaves more than half the screen blank space.
I would probably be easy, just remove the max-width form the css or change it to something like none or 95%

If you have nichrome in air without wrapping it around the barrel, it will usually burn out. The barrel (should) sink heat away from the wire and keep it from melting, and you probably won't see any color change.
The main problem I've had is disconnects or shorts. When wrapped around the barrel, make sure you don't have any shorts to the barrel or to the nichrome, it won't work properly if you

For the v2.2 Extruder Controller you hook the thermistor directly to the board. Be sure you have the correct look-up table for the thermistor that you have.
Here are a few and a link to a python script to generate one if you know the model and can find a datasheet for your thermistor.

These values go in the extruder controller firmware in something like temp

I noticed you are including "A signed letter confirming this lineage will be included with the parts."
Do you have a actual lineage (parent-child) document template you could put on the wiki? Then anyone could include it with their parts/kits. Eventually, the results could be quite interesting.

Check the very bottom of this page:
There is an xls/ods document that you can punch your numbers into to get the steps/mm for the firmware.

Let's suppose that I want to replicate a lot of mendels to sell them or to give them to friends, does it make sense to buy a hobbyist lathe?
Another thing to consider, is most of the parts (smooth/threaded rod, nuts, bolts, washers, etc.) are usually cheaper if you are buying in bulk. This way you can make several kits at once for less than making them all individually.

The power supply will not start until the firmware is loaded onto the motherboard.
You should be able to program it with only using the USB-TTL cable, no ATX required. On thing to try is to hit the reset button as soon as the Arduino software is done compiling the firmware, right before it tries to load it to the board. Be sure you have the sanguino libraries and the correct port selected in t

One resource you may wish to explore is a circuit simulator. You can place components and link them up and simulate their operation, e.g. you could place all the opto-endstop components, apply voltage, simulate triggering the stop etc. LEDs will light up, you can place voltmeters and graph voltage, current meters for current, etc.
Here is one that I used in college:

Currently the site is not very global-friendly, but I would like to change this.
I hope to add custom tax/shipping features where each seller can set individual shipping and tax rates to each country/state. It is still code in progress, but I will keep this updated.
If you have suggestions, such as table rate shipping, please post them and I'll compile a list. My goal for RepRap Stores is to be

Another thing you may wish to consider is the Makerbot MK4 extruder is driven by a gear motor, where most Mendel extruders are driven by a stepper. In my experience it is easier to get the stepper extruders working with the RepRap Host/Firmware and gear motor extruders with the Makerbot Firmware/ReplicatorG/Skeinforge.
Also, you can make a pinch-wheel extruder out of whatever stiff material you

I'm pretty sure it was a link to the Mk II Extruder, but I would recommend making something from here Category:Extruders or the Thermoplast Extruder 2.0. I made the 2.0 out of a block of oak (mdf didn't work very well) and used it to extruder all the Mendel parts with my McWire.
Sebastien, is there a reason that ThermoplastExtruder_2_0 and Mendel_extruder are not on the Category:Extruders page?

I've been wanting to design a stepper controller with microstepping, but stepper drivers seem to be difficult to obtain. Here are some options I've been looking at. Does anyone have any suggestions of other drivers?
Makerbot/Gen3 uses the Allegro A3982 which is available from electronics suppliers (mouser/digikey/etc), but it only supports full and half stepping.

Also, as a full vendor account wouldn't make sense for some people (e.g. you are selling a one-off printed kit) I've added a tiered structure. I tried to keep it simple.

I'm working on adding Google Checkout support, the code is a little wonky to get it done as everything in the cms I am using is geared for paypal. Hopefully I will have it set up in the near future.
Sebastien,
I've added a line to the "Become a Vendor" requesting that all part designs be made available on the wiki, and once I create a "Terms" page I'll add it there too.

You can try heating the nut with a torch (while using pliers and gloves to hold it). I used about 8 seconds of direct heat with a pencil torch, then pressed the nuts into the slots while hot, just don't get the nut too hot or it will melt right through your part. If it is zinc plated, the right temp seems to be when you first notice a slight darkening/discoloration of the coating.
