I wonder if someone could suggest a fix to my problem. I run XP 64, usually happily, and follow the git releases of Slicer. Up until yesterday I had CitrusPerl 5.14 installed. I updated my Slic3r.pl and tried to load it and it wouldn't go. Tried a reboot(that helped in the past)...no go. Today I removed CitrusPerl and installed the new CitrusPerl 5.16. Updated Slicer once more and tried toby wallester - Slic3r
Bingo. That's got it. "Restoring factory defaults" refreshed the values to the new ones uploaded. Odd that I didn't have to do this before. Musta changed some other setting somewhere. Thanks again.by wallester - Sanguino(lolu)
Ahhh. This sounds promising. Soon as I get back I'll have a closer look. I think I'm getting it now. I think I do remember something about EEPROM in Marlin. I didn't realize there were two places to store values. Marlin says to keep the EEPROM settings on if possible. I'll try the M502 first. Many thanks in anticipation of success.by wallester - Sanguino(lolu)
Thanks for the reply, Nophead. I'm not sure if I understand completely. I'm uploading the config files from Marlin to the board. I thought this includes all the values (steps per unit, parameters, preferences) selected in Marlin. And I thought that when I looked at the EEPROM settings in the config tab of Repetier, the values reflected what exists in the EEPROM of the board. These are the vby wallester - Sanguino(lolu)
Hello All. I've been variously happy using a Sanguinololu V1.3 board, uploading Marlin with Arduino 23, for several months. But over the last few weeks I've run into a problem with the program uploading successfully but when I open Repetier and check the firmware eeprom settings, I find that they haven't changed at all. I have probably tried every possible combination of "reset button"/ "uploaby wallester - Sanguino(lolu)

I may be in the right place after all(at least in part). I tried running the model thru Netfabb some more and sliced in Repetier using the internal and external slicers. For the external slicer I have Slic3r 070. In both, the slicing went fine. Just for the sake of interest I tried loading each of the gcode files into Pronterface because I have had problems with other parts doing this. The Iby wallester - Slic3r
nb99, thanks for the heads up and sorry for incorrectly posting. I will move this to Printing, if necessary, after this note. I want to try a few more tests to check connections. To answer your questions: Repetier shows the whole whole part and the slicing works without any errors. As it prints, the gcode is running by on the window and it stops completely when the printer freezes(although Iby wallester - Slic3r
I may be posting in the wrong place. If so, please redirect me. I am running Slic3r, Marlin, and Repetier. All incredible pieces of work. Trouble is, I get about 80% of the way thru one print and it stops right in the middle of some part of the model. This is without my touching anything or changing any parameters in Repetier. I did this twice and the stopping occurs at the same place. Couby wallester - Slic3r
Just a supporting point, an extruder carriage could be mounted on each radius allowing each one full coverage of the table. Continuous path lines could be written with one expression for each change in direction instead of two(ie. length in relative direction, speed vs x,y, speed).by wallester - General
Very interesting idea, Aardvark, although what Nudel suggests has me intriged. I was just asking another couple of people about the very same idea. This would reduce the amount of movement in the printed part. But the software and firmware issue is bothering me. Not knowing sqwat about programming, I am curious how existing programs could be applied to exactly the design you are talking aboutby wallester - General

I'm still in CAD mode so I'd just go back to the original drawing program and do it there.by wallester - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Ahh. Obviously way off track here. Got it now. I'm off to get the right Marlin. Thanks all.by wallester - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Thanks for the tips. I tried the reset. That didn't do anything. I'll have to check the 32 bit java. I'm running a Sanguinololu so I downloaded the Gen6 version. The Gen6 version of Marlin only gives one motherboard selection.by wallester - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Has anyone been able to run Marlin successfully on Win XP 64bit? Mine won't upload to the machine.by wallester - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future

My RSS still isn't updating.by wallester - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
If you have a fixed date I'm interested. Is there something wrong with the RSS thing in here? I have been set up on it since this RUG got started and it hasn't updated since Oct. 21. I'm a little more flexible on day and time. Weekend is best for me though. Wallyby wallester - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG

Any of the days listed work good for me. Only the time may be an issue. Is there one set?by wallester - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Interested. Don't know nothin about this stuff but I want a Mendel. Still ordering parts. Have time. Should go quickly. Is this everything I need for electronics?by wallester - Controllers
