Ok I'll start by admitting that I havn't done anything to my Marlin fw since I built my printer 3-4 years ago but I recently updated my hotend and thus needed to change the thermistor settings! Homing X and Y works just fine and I've set up the offset so G1 X0 Y0 brings it right to the corner of the bed but when I press Home Z it ends up here: Running a M114 gives me X:9.00 Y:95.00 Z:3.10 at thby Naesstrom - Firmware - Marlin
QuoteFA-MAS QuoteNaesstrom Negative Y is towards the back where the endstop is, Negative X is towards the right and Negative Z is down, endstops are marked with white circles. That's going to give you mirrored print. With the physical location of your endstops Y placement is fine, it's a min endstop, should be connected to the min endstop pins on your ramps Z placement is fine, it's a min endstby Naesstrom - General Mendel Topics
Im just finishing up my reprappro mendel build and I'm having some problems... When I'm not printing I can move the Z-axis just fine but when I'm printing it's not moving at all. so far I've narrowed it down to that it doesn't move when it uses relative coordinates, if it is then I can issue a G1 Z10 for example and all it does is move down to the endstop again. if I switch to Absolute mode it woby Naesstrom - General Mendel Topics
Quotestephenrc Retraction needs to be used to get rid of the strings & residue, Thanks for the advice, I'll better get started on calibrating the retraction then!by Naesstrom - Printing
So I'm getting some really ugly prints lately on my reprappro mono mendel. Here are some photos from today's print that I had to abort So basically I'm getting a lot of ugly residue hanging out all over my print, seems to be getting worse around sharp angles but also on some straight edges. I thought it was over extruding but I've calibrated that part by measuring wall thickness and it ends upby Naesstrom - Printing
QuoteDust The mega/ramps has a very very weak power supply (chips says 1amp, but people tell me you can only reliably get a lot less before it over heats) rpi needs ie far more than the mega can provide. Hm, guess I'll better get a voltage regulator from 12 to 5V then, good ting they are cheap btw, here's the case if anyone else is interested:by Naesstrom - General
Listening in since I think it sounds interesting, I'm just done with my new enclosure that holds Ramps, Mega and Pi with a cooling fan in the same box. Was thinking of powering the Pi with one of the servo connections on the ramps to the GPIO... Could any of you explain how to hookup this as the OP asked?by Naesstrom - General
Hi everyone I just made a model of a enclosure for ramps, mega, rpi and a lcd (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1395084) but now I realized that I had designed it for the wrong type of LCD controller. The model is made from the one with the rotary knob in the middle but it seems that most people have a version from reprapdiscount with only one button and the rotatry knob to the right. Does anyoby Naesstrom - Controllers
Hi! I recently purchased a half built reprappro tricolor mendel from a group on facebook and I'm missing all the small screws, m2,5, m3 etc and I can't find a bill of materials for the tricolor one, does anyone know where to find a list of what screws I need to get? or even better someplace online where I can buy a kit with just the screws Second question, it didn't come with a controller andby Naesstrom - General Mendel Topics
Oh really... I must have missunderstond the difference between NPN and PNP! I have a NPN sensor to but I never tried to use it since I thought that I had ordered the wrong type I'll try and connect that one tomorrow then!by Naesstrom - Sanguino(lolu)
Hi everyone I'm having some problems getting my capacitive sensor working with my Melzi 2.0 and I was hoping to get some feedback from you. I bought a LJC18A3-B-Z/BY PNP NO Capacitive sensor from Ebay and since it's a PNP it switches over the negative side: So I found a nice guide over at reddit that explained that I should connect it as follows: brown: +12v blue: z-stop pin closer to bed temby Naesstrom - Sanguino(lolu)
Quotebgkdavis Does the Melzi have a PID controller for the hot end, could be that it just needs tuning, if you reduce the I term a little then you should see that it takes a little longer to get to temp, but should be more stable. I think it does, or atleast it's built into the firmware so running a "M303 C8 S175" will apparently tune the PID and give the correct values to enter into the firmwarby Naesstrom - General Mendel Topics
I have the same mono mendel from RRP and I can't remember that the temp was fluctuating like that. The cooling fan on the backside shouldn't be on all the time either, check your settings in the slicer software about cooling. I'n waiting for a new heater for my hotend so I can't check how much my temp varies right now but I'll check once I get it!by Naesstrom - General Mendel Topics
Hi everyone! I have a mono mendel from RepRapPro that I want to update with a auto bedlevel but that also means I have to update my Marlin firmware and I've run into some problems. I downloaded the latest Marlin and configured it to work with my thermistors etc and it compiles just fine, but when I try to upload it I get: Binary sketch size: 78 552 bytes (of a 129 024 byte maximum) avrdude: stkby Naesstrom - General Mendel Topics
QuoteGaou I am interesting too for this as i can't level my bed for 3 days now. But when i first saw it i was wondering if it can work with the board and if so how difficult would that be as i know my sensor has 4 cables and this one has 3. Is it bad to print it on pla ? Not sure at all about the cables Gaou, it should just replace the Z endstop and that has 2 cables, just a switch to tell it wby Naesstrom - General Mendel Topics
I got tired of trying to get my printbed level on my Mono mendel from ReprapPro so I started watching some guides on how to enable autoleveling. It seems that the best way is to use a capacitive sensor since it will work on everything and not just metal. They are also pretty cheap on Ebay so it's a win win! You can see the X and Y offset in the image below and that should make the setup a lotby Naesstrom - General Mendel Topics
