actually I will be running it from an adapter in this case, however I want to experiment with power consumption and conservation strategies in the long run. as for measuring the interval, how would I do that? that is something I never have done. terramirby terramir - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
how many clock cycles will this code take because I got buttons to monitor and well most of the time is used watching the buttons and I'm running this at 8mhz and seriously considering clocking it down to 1mhz or less. if I can figure out how to find a custom bootloader. terramirby terramir - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
Nophead's python script that I hacked to get the format I needed i.e. kelvin*10 (so I can convert to float with one decimal point later in the firmware), The script worked fine with 5V but now I discovered that my hardware i.e. old cell charger is outputting 5.2V this gives me temps that are off, well thought no problem but turns out that both 5.0V and 5.2V spit out the same numbers on the tablesby terramir - Firmware - experimental, borrowed, and future
let's say I want to add an encoder, a i2c lcd and an sd card reader. but let's say if you don't have an encoder handy, why can't we use three buttons one pulls pin X1 high (UP), the second button pulls X2 high(down), and the third button pulls both X1 and X2 high,(select)(If you wanted to be even cheaper pushing both up and down would be select) therefore only using 2 pins and able to select theby terramir - Firmware - mainstream and related support
This hot end is good as long as you don't need spare parts problem is the changes and the threads are a bit off spec. And it is hard to get a hold of these people left 3 messages on e-bay about this hot end no reply in the last few days terramirby terramir - For Sale
ok if I make a model of the buda can you help me add it to the rest ? terramirby terramir - Mendel90
yeah saw that but won't fit the bearings I use :s Oh well print carriage measure all around openscad it freehand, or find a way to fix the code, but that would mean rewriting quite a few things I'll dive into that tomorrow terramirby terramir - Mendel90
I'd like to add a budaschnozzle to the cheapo well a generic one from china threre kinda cheap but still pretty decent with printing. please advise if that definition already exists or how I would add it. terramirby terramir - Mendel90
aaah kicad, I use gEDA myself I'll download kicad to get the dimensions thanks for the info terramirby terramir - Mendel90
ehhh the files for the pcb don't work for some reason eagle throws the start tag expected error in 7.10 of eagle, and I can't open the schematic files either in eagle nor gEDA need some help what did you use to make the files nophead? terramirby terramir - Mendel90
QuoteAlzibiff Take a look at the Thursday, September 5, 2013 blog post by NumberSix here: Alan thanks for the hint, with the link from nophead's post I should be able to design and etch a pcb that uses pins instead of the connector and avoid the wire salad. but thanks for the idea.by terramir - Mendel90
what does 6 pounds plus postage translate to in us$ for the connection kit? well according to google that 6 GBP is $9 and 89 cents but would the total be ? I know this could go in a real small package probably under 50 grams if you are stingy with packaging. from the eurozone it's like cheap under 50 grams but I dunno from the GB I'll make due on some of the printers like the cheapo, but on oneby terramir - Mendel90
I cannot find the connector at a reasonable price on e-bay nor can I find the pcb files to etch it myself, Now I thought of a work around using a vga connector, from an old video card and a old vga connector, but I would need a schematic to see the dimensions terramirby terramir - Mendel90
question the spool holder there is a screw hole only on the male side, so the question is bond the female side to the male side with acetone or not terramirby terramir - Mendel90
Actually I solved this problem the catch is aliases don't necessarily work, in MacOS however this will: export PATH=$PATH:/Applications/Inkscape.app/Contents/Resources/bin and the same just for openscad (because that's what was missing for me) export PATH=$PATH:/Applications/OpenSCAD.app/Contents/MacOS terramirby terramir - General
I'm not making much progress I'm afraid because I cannot get the python scripts to work in either macosx or windowz But I posted about this in another thread here!!! terramirby terramir - Mendel90

need some help with some values again because I'm measuring m3, m4, m8 nuts I have an well I cannot assume the corresponding values, because I can't match measured values very well for example my m3 regular nut is 5.49 between flats and 6.19 between points but the second value is 6.4, but my nyloc m3 nuts may be different M2_nut = [2, 4.9, 1.6, 2.4, M2_washer, M2_nut_trap_depth]; M2p5by terramir - Mendel90
well having some problems with python will try today on my dual boot lappy with windowz. #2 in sheets scad the first definition is MD I assume for MDF, I'd like to change that to PB for particle board however I dunno where that definition lives #3 PB5/8 is actually 16mm thick almost down to the 1/100 of a mm, goes to show you at least in pressed wood products metric has crawled inself into existeby terramir - Mendel90
got three questions right now, #1 where does MDF12 live as a definition I can find it the sturdy.scad as a variable but I dunno where it is defined. #2 I defined the "bearing" as OL516 which is actually a sleeve type, but what would I have to change in the rest of the file in order to reflect it in the rendering. or will just adding OL516 = [19, 11.11, 7.93]; suffice // // Mendel90 // // GNUby terramir - Mendel90
well gonna fix the files today I wonder do I upload a pull request on git hub to add the 5/16 rods? well not all is lost as of now I have not printed too much so I should be able to fiddle with the configuration file for the z-height and the thickness of the boards and the bushings and see what I can get away with.most of the holes I did pre drill were done with like a 1.5mm drill bit cause that'by terramir - Mendel90
Yeah well I'm using almost 8mm instead of 10, which would be the sturdy so the parts I printed out mostly are for the acrylic version, but I also taped the drill templates to either top or bottom because my machine will be a little bit taller, I have not made a print bed yet because I figured I would end up with some drill issues which I would want to measure, have not decided what material I wilby terramir - Mendel90
if you look at the pictures attached you'll see some interesting choices, #1cheap particle board a little ticker than 12 mm but that only matters with the spool holder I'll have to hack those holders. #2 5/16 drill rod and oillite bushings are smooth as heck should last a bit and well here's where the problem starts I hacked the scad file for the bearing holder and well, here's the problem somehby terramir - Mendel90
Hi, I am kinda perplexed here I want to reprogram my 644p and well I got some 1284p laying around and in the future I might want to put those in service. Here are the things I need to know for marlin you usually need a 2.7v brownout fuse, so what fuses need to be set for a 644p and for a 1284p Also besides the acceleration settings and the steps per mm and my fan pin what else is needed for marby terramir - Next Wave Electronics Working Group

the MCP2200 does not work with macosx. Microchip states this and therte are threads on how to get it to work with linux. as for windows there are some issues with the 64 bit version of windows 7 but there are workarounds for this. terramirby terramir - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
In repetier and marlin as well as sprinter you need to give the M80 command to turn on the power supply, if your using ATX as your PSU. M81 to turn it off BTW. Also for those of you with the 1284 without the (P) - pu trust me I have tried all kinds of way to program that thing even a dedicated programmer based on the arduino design, it keeps failing so I gave up on this chip. there is somethingby terramir - Next Wave Electronics Working Group
