Thank you Dust, I will try your suggestion, as I said before I use kisslicer to produce my gcode and so I can enter the swith on code in the prefix gcode and the switch off in the post fix I can't believe it could be so easy. I will try tommorow . many thanks.by papakel - General
Hi all, can anyone please throw some light on how to contol the sanguinololu expansion pins with gcode. Let me expand a little, I am using an computor power supply to power my printer and I would like to use a gcode command to break the connection of the green and black power supply wires to turn off the power supply on completion of a job, i.e. a post scipt in kisslicer for all jobs. I had exactly the same problem and tried all the same things you suggested without success, then I stumbled on a post suggesting driver overheating, which I originally dismissed, as I didnt think that the heatsink felt that hot, but as everything else had failed to solve the problem I fitted a 3inch fan blowing directly on to the face of the sanguinololu board and BINGO problem solved.by papakel - Printing
Hi all, I find all the above coments verry interesting and amongst them the point of overheating steppr drivers, I have now fitted a 3inch fan directed at the face of my sanguinololu board and with no other changes my printed objects are 100% better in all ways, thanks againby papakel - Printing
Hi all I find all the above post very interesting as I have been using sanguinololu for about 2 years now without any problems on four home made printers and found it great. I have now got a bee in my bonnet about adding a second extruder to my printer, and after a lot of searching I stumbled accross an eagle design for a sanguinololu add on known as "Slum 1.0.1" this is a reasonable simple to coby papakel - Devon RepRap User Group
Hi all, I started off some time ago when I retired, (Time to spare and enjoy) with the 3d printing bug and started with the sanguinololu 1.3a driving a homemade everbot type printer built from scrap odments of MDF and draw runners and I found it doing all it said it could and as I progressed with my hobby I built a second home design printer again very happy with the sanguinololu and then I buby papakel - General
Hi, I watched a youtube clip the other night where a chap had added two additional stepper drivers to his sanguinololu by partly using another sanguinololu board which seemed to be connected to the E axis and a power supply and was printing on a prusa with three extruders, guess what, I did not save a link or fully grasp what he said but only later concidered copying his idea. Hi all, Please can someone help, my homemade printer was printing, as I considered near perfect, printing out most of the Prusa i3 parts .stl files until I ran out of fillament. I aquired a new roll of 3mm ABS fillament, loaded it into the machine and have printed nothing worth saveing since, I have cleaned out the extruder nozel checked the PTFE feeder tube cleaned the extruder drive wheel adjusby papakel - Reprappers
Hi Guys, Thank for all your replies they are most appreciated, I am sorry for my first typing mistake I wrote 100k thermister when I should have writen 100K, however once again thanks to all and I seem to have stumbled accross the solution as the printer is working fine now, I think my main problem was in not waiting for the PID autotune to finnish completely and as a result I entered the first sby papakel - Printing
Hi all, I have a similar problem, I built a prusa i3 reworked from scraps from my garage I used sanguinololu controler and built the complete hotend from scraps of aluminium and used 2No 6.8 ohm wire wound resisters for the heating element and a1000 ohm thermister setting marlin configuration.h to thermister type 1. I have got everything working fine with the exception that the hotend is failingby papakel - Printing
Hi all I have my home built printer in the garage and although I dont mind leaving it running during a long print, I would very much like to be able to use the M80/81 code at the start and end of my gcode to make or break the black and green wire connection on the ATX power supply to power down the printer. The green wire has to make connection to a black negative wire to energise the 12 voltby papakel - Sanguino(lolu)
Hi all, thanks to jbernardis for his valuable input. I found the answer after downloading a 3d printer simulator and running the gcode (produced with Kislicer), it became obvious that the missing teeth were due to missing gcode, so after spending time wading through the finer settings of slic3r I created yet another set of gcode and bingo the whole set of gears complete with a full set of teethby papakel - Printing
Hi all, I am having problems printing gears for a universal paste extruder downloaded from thingiverse. The body printed perfectly but the gears do print but all have missing teeth. Looking at the STL file with Netfab the pictures look perfect with all teeth clearly visible. I have tried slicing the STL with Kislicer and with slic3r and I cannot get the teeth to print without gaps of up to six orby papakel - Printing
Hi all, I am a relative new boy to printing, I made my printer from odds and sods based on pictures of the everbot printer, I have had reasonable success printing a variation of objects both home drawn using Viacad and downloaded from thingiverse, I use kislicer to produce my gcode its free and I find it easer to setup than slice3r, but my last project, a universal paste extruder downloaded fromby papakel - Slic3r

Hi all, I have a home built printer roughly based on the Everbot machine complete with Sanguinololu 1.3a board with ramps and Marlin software and as it is located outside in the garage I would like to be able to control the ATX power supply switch on and off with a Gcode command at the beginning and end of a print job. Hi all, thanks for all your suggestions all of which are valued but I think I have stumbled across the problem, I have installed a small fan to cool the circuit board and stepper drivers this is also powered by the power supply so I wrapped the fan flex three times around a ferrite ring and the printer has completed two jobs in succession without a fault. Hi all, On closer investigation when my print stops and when I have Gcode debug running the stop always happens after the exicusion line has been sent to the printer and computor is waiting for the received OK echo, and no matter what I try to do, i.e pause print, resume, reset or enter code manually all that happens is a constant string of "sending M105" until the program stops responding alby papakel - Ormerod
