I knocked up a bezier surface in a .obj file, and Slic3r (1.6.1) didn't understand it. Is anyone in the know on this forum with Slic3r development? Or are .obj files dead in the water?by aegidius - Slic3r
I was really thinking about separation of the PCB from the aluminium, since they would have quite different coefficients of expansion. Anyways, I solved the problem by buying a couple of silicone heat pads instead (they work off the mains, so saving me the cost of a power supply). Since they are soft, the question of differential expansion won't arise, and they come with their own adhesive. I'llby aegidius - Developers
I know it can read .obj files (Wavefront .obj) already - just wondering at what level of support. I'm writing an app which deals in bezier surfaces mainly, so would like to know if Slic3r can accept them directly or if I have to flatten them.by aegidius - Slic3r
Can Slic3r read obj files with bezier or other curved surfaces? If so, which version of the obj format does it support?by aegidius - Slic3r
For those factory-made Mk3 Alu heatbeds, where the heater PCB is on one side and the 3mm aluminium on the other: how is the aluminium plate bonded to the PCB for best heat transfer? Double-sided tape? Epoxy? How does it cope with differential expansion?by aegidius - Developers
Has anyone any ideas if this is possible? A printer with two Z motors is normally driven in parallel from one driver, but I'd like to home each side independently to allow automatic bed levelling, using the spare extruder driver. But there's no input for the second Z-min endstop, unless the Z-max input can be coopted..by aegidius - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
It might be waiting for the home position to be reached. Are all your endstops connected? can you home the printer manually?by aegidius - General
