On another note, Throwing my answer in.... If were talking about all of the little prints, Obviously every one is different. I find opening the .GCODE file slicer makes in ReplicatorG and scrolling to the bottom gives you its required filament. So i usually know how much a print is going to take. Great for when i'm near the end of a colour! Tomby Kingdomfire - General Mendel Topics
Hey all, Just finished building a Prusa Mendel I2. I sourced and purchased all of the parts my self from tool station, screw fix, ebay and this forum (printed parts) and I am up and running. I am using an arduino MEGA 2560 with a RAMPS board and pololu drivers. A Arcol.hu v4 hot end and a Greg's Wade's extruder. Im using Faberdashery Filament which seems great quality at a reasonable price.by Kingdomfire - General Mendel Topics
Hi RichDude, As a noob myself, I cannot guarantee the accuracy of my answer but ill give it my best! I havent experienced blobbing or this kind of issue as of yet, i did however get slanted prints. This was due to a few issues. Firstly my RAMPS board was over heating. BIG fan, problem solved. Next was my printing temp. I had it set too high and it was causing strange things. I presume you've fby Kingdomfire - General Mendel Topics
Hey guys, Any advice on fitting my hotend to the Greg's extruder? It appears to be designed to slot straight in and be held with a couple of bolts? The ally plate it shipped with will not fit in the X carriage so i'm guessing it must just slot in but thought id check! Thanks Tomby Kingdomfire - General
Cool! Thanks Tom, :-) I will continue with my build and then go back to the Wiki pages and edit as I think it requires. Tomby Kingdomfire - General
Hi all, Just ordered all the parts to my Prusa i2, followed the wiki BOM (I2 BOM) and it states 6 lengths of 405mm smooth rod. Also the threaded rod lengths seem incorrect? Just come to the build page and noticed the lengths have been changed. (Prusa I2 Build) Didn't know who to tell so it could be adjusted so thought i'd post on here? Also didn't want anyone else to get caught out by it. Thanby Kingdomfire - General
That's great, ill look out for that! Thanks for warning me!by Kingdomfire - General
That's cool. My shipping for all items is included in that end price as I purchased as much per vendor as I could. That smoothie ware sounds cool!by Kingdomfire - General

Cheers Guys, Ive just sent my order request to Laszlo just waiting to hear back from him now Thanks for your comments, looking forward to printing with the v4 now! Tomby Kingdomfire - General
Good ideas floating around guys. With regards to pick and place Patrick over at buildyourcnc.com has already put a lot of time and effort into this area. If you take a look atBuildyourcnc you'll see it all there. His gantry moves over a stationary bed and even takes the parts from the reels. He uses a skillet to reflow solder. Worth having a look at his stuff as you can buy parts/plans/kits oby Kingdomfire - General
That's great to hear, thanks guys! Will go to Arcol's shop and get in touch with Laszlo. Thanks again Tomby Kingdomfire - General

Hi All, Looking to purchase my first hot end and after reading some reviews have decided to splash out on an 'Arcol's hot end v4'. Problem is being new to the 3d printing scene I was wondering if anyone has already purchased a v4 and have any advice / a review for me / the community? Edit; Should of added the web address of the hot end... Arcol's Hot end V4 If the general consensus is to geby Kingdomfire - General
I'm in the same boat at the moment, I live in the UK and kits over here run in at around £499 ($805)(€618)for a basic set. I've been doing my homework for the last few weeks and noticed that a lot of eBay traders (also members on here) will happily combine shipping and knock a little off their top line if you ask nicely. Currently my build list is running in at around £300 and I don't think thaby Kingdomfire - General
Hi All, Sorry if this is the wrong place. I am purchasing all of my parts to make my first machine. I am going for a Prusa Mendel i2 LM8UU and am having trouble finding someone to print in north Wales / Chester area. Can anyone help locally or in the rest of the UK? Happy to pay or provide materials etc as needed, just really want to get on with my build now and it's this that's holding me upby Kingdomfire - Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale
