FREAKING GLORIOUS!!! tinitinz, You hit the nail square on the head! THANKS YOU!!! I lowered acceleration to 1000 from 3000 and BOOM! PERFECT PRINTING!!! YOU ROCK!!!by zanahade - General Mendel Topics
Thanks for the correction Cameron. So yea, on second thought, I believe Cameron is right, check your power supply.by zanahade - General Mendel Topics
Do you have your thermistor connected? Not sure what firmware you are using, but I know that in Marlin, if you do not have the thermistor connected for the extruder, the software will prevent the extruder motor from running... hope that helps.by zanahade - General Mendel Topics
Daniel, 1 ohm over the entire board? That seems VERY low. Make sure you do not have a solder bridge between the pads that the boards wires are soldered to... then check the rest of the board for any thing that would short the circuit paths... -Zanby zanahade - General Mendel Topics
I have an issue with my printer laying down the layers and after what appears to be the 2nd or 3rd layer, the layers start to drift, a little at first, then more and more until the deviation is about 1 to 1/2" (25.4 to 38.1mm). (this image should have been: thing:27354) Now I notice that when it is running, I can hear the printer nozzle colliding with the print, in what seems to be areas whereby zanahade - General Mendel Topics

Should I just switch to a jhead?by zanahade - General Mendel Topics
OK' finally a step forward. I raised the bed temp to 65c and the plastic sticks! At least as long as the extruder is extruding... It dose a good chunk of the first layer, and that's all she wrote! I have to back the pla out a bit then run it forward again and sometimes that does it... I am really starting to think there is something special I need to do with this hot end, but not sure what it isby zanahade - General Mendel Topics
OK, I have checked my bed temp, tried to print on glue stick, checked the hot end to bed offset .2mm, hot end temp... but it seems like the hotend doesn't maintain enough pressure to extrude consistently. On top of that, the PLA does not stick to the bed when it does extrude. It starts out not extruding at all, then you get 3 or 4 laps of GOOD solid extrusion... but then... I think you are looking at a IDE/Marlin version mismatch... I will try to get you more info...by zanahade - Reprappers
This fan is for the extruder thermal barrier, not for cooling the print. It keeps the heat from creeping up the hot end and melting the pla which causes jams. The fan I am talking about was plugged into the power supply but I put a lm317 board between the two and all is well.by zanahade - General Mendel Topics
You can usually find them on Amazon as well.by zanahade - General Mendel Topics
Hello, My printer is: Mendel Max 1.5+ Trinity Labs Y Axis Upgrade Trinity Labs X Axis Upgrade Trinity Labs .4mm Metal Magma Hot end with a speed controlled fan mounted on the heat sink. Bed is: G10 bolted to the uni-guide carriage thing:38288 screwed to the corners. 200W kapton Heater stuck to the bottom of the aluminum heat spreader under borosillicate glass. Ok it took a combination of autotune with the lm317 board to get it done. Now I just have some issues finding the Goldielocks temp for my PLA... but that's for another post.by zanahade - General Mendel Topics
Ok, It is timing out when I run autotune. Looks like the fan is blowing to hard. I will order a lm317 control board. I can get one on amazon prime I'll post back once I have something new to report.by zanahade - General Mendel Topics
Fantastic! I'll give the autotuning a try before I go ordering that board. Thanks! I'll post on my results.by zanahade - General Mendel Topics
Hello all, I have a Mendel Max 1.5+ and I just finished upgrading the heck out of it. one of the upgrades was the metal magma hot end by Trinity Labs. The bad news is that with the fan on, cooling the top half, the bottom half (hot end) never seems to get hot enough for even PLA. With out the fan, the PLA in the top half expands and goes all sticky... then jamming ensues... you know this songby zanahade - General Mendel Topics
Thanks Mitch, I have a supplier squared away. Thanks again.by zanahade - Job Shop: I need stuff made!
Hi Mitch, you wouldn't happen to have those with X ends included would ya?by zanahade - Job Shop: I need stuff made!
Hi I live in Portland OR and Was hoping that I could contract someone to print me a set of parts for MendelMax 1.5 and a Greg's Wade Extruder in ABS if possible, I am a little flexible on color. Please let me know and what kind of $ you will require. Thanks! -Zanby zanahade - Job Shop: I need stuff made!
That is correct, DeuxVis. My co worker has repsnapper and uses it for both Gcode generation as well as hosting the printer. I'll try slicing it up with Slic3r and then bring the code to repsnapper and see where I end up. Thanks for the tip!by zanahade - Reprappers
My goodness indeed! I think I will be excusing my self from this particular project thanks for the heads up! Until I get the money together to construct my own reprap... -Zanby zanahade - Reprappers
Hi, Thank you both for responding. redreprap: I have looked at the gcode, though I am not sure what I am looking at. I will continue to look into that. akhlut: I have uploaded several pics to my GDrive: again any help would be greatly appreciated. -Zanby zanahade - Reprappers
One of my co workers brought in what appears to be a reprap of some sort last year, but couldn't figure out how to get it working. When I came on board with the company, I offered to help. Now I am a newb but I have been interested in building my own reprap for some time, so this looked like a good opportunity to get my feet wet. Now, I have X, Y, and Z moving, also the extruder is extruding. Myby zanahade - Reprappers
