I am rewiring my Prusa I3 Rework and was looking at the number of wires needed for the hot end assembly. My setup has the following wires going to the carriage: stepper - 4 wires 24v 40W heater - +24V, GND E3Dv6 fan - +24V, GND part cooling fan - +24V, GND thermistor - 2 wires BLTouch - SERVO SIGNAL, SERVO +5V, SERVO GND, I was thinking at the very least I could combine the ground wires of theby jhelmstetter - RAMPS Electronics
Thank you! Yes it is a nasty cheap board. And yes every stepping jumper is shorted under every driver chip. What a lovely feature! Seeing how the RAMPS board doesn't like me setting my z axis at 3000+ steps per mm, it looks like I need to pull the headers and cut the shorts out. At least now I know I'm not an idiot, just a little hard-headed about the cheap hardware.by jhelmstetter - RAMPS Electronics
I have recently changed my Z axis a #10-24 lead screw. This is a 24 Turns Per Inch screw which is 1.058mm [(1/24)*25.4] and have calculated my steps per mm for the Z axis and ended up with 188.98 with full steps [(200 steps per rev * 1 step) / 1.058mm]. This gives me a resolution of .005mm per step. So I powered down the RAMPS board, removed it from the USB connection and removed the Z axis driveby jhelmstetter - RAMPS Electronics
Is it just the back light that is not working? Can you see that there is text displayed on the LCD but it is just not back lit? If so, have you tried adjusting the contrast on the rear of the LCD board? The voltages may be different between the two boards which may be why you would have to adjust it.by jhelmstetter - RAMPS Electronics
Hi everyone, I am building a 3D printer and need to have the attached parts printed. I have already nested them but also have the individual STLs available as well. Can anyone assist? Please let me know the cost. Thnaks!by jhelmstetter - Job Shop: I need stuff made!
I am looking at the all aluminum design that zelogik first posted. I am trying to get a clear understanding of the belt drive assemblies. I included my understanding of these assemblies below. 1) Does this look drawing look correct? 2) I understand the pulley P1 should be a GT2 20T with a 5mm bore, correct? 3) Are the bolts that go through the spacers marked in blue also used to connect to theby jhelmstetter - CoreXY Machines
So I am researching as much as I can because I would like to build a 3D printer and the Mendel90 had my eye right now. A number of people have told me to start with a popular design and go from there. I agree that would be the easiest but I would like to spend money once on what I would like instead of being less satisfied. With that in mind, I would like to scale the printer to a 12x - 12y - ?z.by jhelmstetter - Mendel90
