sumpod.com has a dual extruder machine - has done for some time now, though I've yet to hear much feedback about it.by Njones - General
I think the biggest issue with reprap is speed,.. I'd like to see multiple extruders, but all fixed in the same head unit with only a few mm of movement on each head. The idea would be to have 2 or 3 layers printing at a time,.. the 2nd & 3rd heads following a few mm behind the 1st & immediately laying down the next layer. It would of course mean major hardware, software and firmware chaby Njones - General
I get a lot of stuff from these guys,.. not sure if they stock the PEEK you need, but worth a look:by Njones - General
I saw a youtube vid of printing chocolate, so beeswax might be possibe.... I'd be concerned that its too fluid when melted though & you might just end up with a puddle! If you're going for wax there are many other wax's that are cheaper and have a higher viscosity when melted which would make them more suitable for printing,.. perhaps combining a wax with a granular filling/thickening agentby Njones - General
I ca't wait,.. it looks like its going to be a real quality piece of kit!by Njones - General
So,.. what will it cost me roughly???by Njones - General
I have to say that the photo's look VERY impressive,.. but that makes me think your printer might be very costly,... Can I be cheeky and ask if you've set a retail price yet?by Njones - General
Here's a cheeky suggestion,... I'm a website designer without a 3D printer - You make 3D printers & don't have a website,.... fancy a swap? info@avondhu-internet.com if you are interested Chelsea - QU-BD Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- >by Njones - General
Can't wait to see it! PS. If you fancy sending a sample unit to Ireland for independent testing & review, I'm sure I could clear space in my busy schedule to accomodate you.by Njones - General
If you don't have time to respond to e-mails, CLOSE THE SHOP TILL YOU CATCH UP!!! I do hope that orders placed today are NOT funding materials & parts to fulfil last months orders,... but to be honest, that's the only reason I can imagine why the shop remains open despite such a huge backlog & so many complaints. This is only idle speculation, I've no reason beyond my own imaginings toby Njones - General
Time for mr Hardiman to go over again & give him another arse kicking???by Njones - General
Mine would be: 1: A system of automatically interchangeable hotends/nozzles/tools etc so you can use a big nozzle for quick messy infill, switch to a tiny nozzle for slower but pretty exterior surfaces. Perhaps the option to automatically switch PLA colours for each tool simply for aesthetics. 2: Making reprap printing as simple as normal inkjet/laser 2D printing. Plug in your USB cable, load upby Njones - General
I'd love to see that work out James,.. reliable & long term customer service would almost be a unique selling point for reprap in europe!by Njones - General
It sucks that Camiel can't employ someone to handle PR, make sure orders are shipped on time etc while he concentrates on the inventive & techy bits. He has great knowledge & vision from what ppl say about him, but unfortunately no business sense.by Njones - General
I see the sumpod website is down again,.. what's the story here? Has Richard solved his production issues, or did only a small number of sumpods get shipped?by Njones - General
So,.. time has elapsed, James is back in the Uk,... how has ppls experience with Mendel parts changed (or not)??by Njones - General
Fantastic! Can't wait to see it all put together.by Njones - General
Well said Dave,... my thoughts exactly. Dave Durant Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Good grief. > > If you stopped responding ONLY to people that you > consider trolls, you might regain some > credibility..by Njones - General
I started this thread because I was genuinely impressed with the sumpod design (and price),.. but I'm not the kind of person to hand over money when the product hasn't been tested out in the wild. All along I've thought that Richard was genuine, and have been annoyed at some of the negative posts,... but my faith is wavering. @ Richard: Please show some transparency to those of us who are genuby Njones - General
Shipping was supposed to start this week right? Anyone got one yet?by Njones - General
Richard, could you not close the forum but leave the rest of the website in place,.. especially the "News" section. A few photo's and video's of work in progress would only take an hour or 2 and would save all the hassle you're getting here,.. so make it a priority!by Njones - General
I really hope it works out & I can't wait to see the photo's & videos of the working pods. Until I see results though, my money is staying in my pocket!by Njones - General
I do hope this all works out in the end,.. but I can't understand why there would be such a big delay. I know Richard seems to have some strange idea about shipping the entire first round in one go,.. but if I were him I'd be shipping individual machines as they were completed. I suspect that he did not have the essential working prototype machine before campaigns began, and thought he had allby Njones - General
Good reply Camiel,.. my faith is restored.by Njones - General
Your hard work is appreciated James!by Njones - General

That is a worrying development. If he has time to read paypal e-mails & respond, but doesn't respond to customer e-mails the something is seriously wrong. While the actual printer doesn't make me excited,.. the concept of making the software simple enough for a 10 year old is exciting. Reprap is brilliant,.. but there is a steep learning curve & you really do need some previous skills to get into it. If it could be simplified to this extent it would almost certainly aid in bringing 3d printing to the masses that much sooner.by Njones - General
