My Mendel is now fully operational with Generation 6 electronics and heated bed. Bought all parts from Mendel-parts and printed parts are in blue PLA. Using Skeinforge to generate toolpath and Repsnapper to print. Based in Bradford West Yorkshire. Can be seen printing before purchase. £1000 ono send PM if interestedby kitsamus - For Sale
BRNRD Thank you for your suggestions, Z height is set at 0.2mm and bed is level. I am using 3M blue painters tape and have roughed the bed. I'm using Generatrion 6 electronics from Mendel Parts and printing with PLA, using repsnapper software. I am unsure how to adjust the feedrate, how should I do this? Thank youby kitsamus - Reprappers
Hi Milly The tip of the nozzle should be 0.1mm above print bed when setting the Z height, this is from what I have read on here and experienced with a BFB3000 machine. However I am trying to calibrate my Mendel and not having much luck. Hope this works out for youby kitsamus - Reprappers
HELP! I'm having real troubles with my Mendel. When I print the filament comes out, does not stick to the blue tape, curles back on itself and sticks to the nozzle. From there it continues to extrude and curl up around the nozzle. When I tried reducing the Z height the nozzle atches and lifts the tape. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I would really like to make prints with my meby kitsamus - Reprappers
Tried printing last night with blue tape on the bed and Z height set at 0.1 with paper used as a feeler gage. Started printing ok, then it lifted the tape from the bed so I stopped it. My bed must not be completely level, I will spend more time on this tonight. Thank you all for your adviceby kitsamus - Reprappers
Thank you for all the replies. RHMorrison- Yes I am using blue painters masking tape on the bed, seems to prefer to stick to itself and the nozzle though Jim Blag - I am using the block stlye hote end and nozzle from Camiel, I will try a higher temperature and see if that makes a difference New Perfection - I am using Blue Translucent PLA onto the aluminium bed from Camiel Ageing Hippy - No lby kitsamus - Reprappers
I have now finished my Mendel build and installed the latest firmware for Five D with Gen 6 electronics from Camiel and everything seems to be working as it should. Just a ew problems that I hope someone can help me with. I am extruding PLA at 185C and I thought it would flow downwards but it tries to push to the side at an angle 45deg from the vertical. Set my Z height about 0.1mm from the prinby kitsamus - Reprappers
Sorry, forgot to add the link Kapton Flexible Heater I thought they might make a good heated bedby kitsamus - General Mendel Topics
Thank you Rkoeppl Turns out that I had not been concentrating and had wired the thermistor to the heater pins and the resistor to the thermistor pins, doh!by kitsamus - General
Just found these while searching for something else, was thinking they would make a good heated bed solution. Has anyone had any experience with them? Thanksby kitsamus - General Mendel Topics
I also have generation 6 electronics and am having issues with my heater. When I connect with repsnapper my heater will not heat and the thermistor temperature reads 799b or therabouts. If I connect with my heater unplugged the heater light on the board glows bright green, if I connect with the heater connected the light is dim to the point of barely on. There is 5v at the pins. Any advise onby kitsamus - General
I would be happy to help, I am a product design student and have access to Solid Works. I would be able to turn your sketches into Solid Models and also manufacture prototypes on either my Mendel or router. Please contact me if you wish to discuss this further.by kitsamus - Hello. I need a something designed. For money.
Just finished building my Mendel yesterday with Generation 6 electronics and all parts sourced from Mendel Parts. After connecting to my pc running Windows XP SP3, it found new hardware and installed it, I was unable to control it via RepRap Source. I will try Repsnapper tonight, was worrying that I may have a faulty board. Thanks for adviceby kitsamus - General
Ah just noticed my mistake, thank you. X axis is now right way up, just waiting for the rest of my parts to arrive.by kitsamus - Reprappers
I am in the process of building my first mendel. Still awaiting the thick and thin sheets and extruder hot end from mendel-parts.com. I can't wait to get this finished and run my first print.by kitsamus - Reprappers
Hi Roundsparrow I am based in the UK, not sure where you are based. I am a user of both Solid Edge and Solid Works, I may be able to help create the .stl files for you if you can supply me with sketches of your requirements. The board you mentioned is larger than the Mini Itx boards which measure 170mm x 170mm, this may be a better choice for a small form factor PCby kitsamus - Reprappers
