I believe most photosynthesis is about 1% efficient. Remember that's just at first stage carbon fixation. Much of the energy captured must then be used to run the cellular machinery. Anyone looking to create something along these lines would be well served to check out the 3D Warehouse for user-contributed Sketchup models. Everything on it (to my knowledge) is free for the taking. It would be cool to get a fraction of the people designing for Sketchup working on models for the RepRap to build.by rodzite - General
