I posted in his Replicator to for sale thread that it was a scam and got reported for it.
Glad to see the truth came out.

I just print a skirt. Easy to implement. Only down side is that is shrinks your build area by a tiny amount.

The printrbot simple used to (not sure if they still do) use spectra for their drives. They used what looked like a dremel sanding bit for the drive pulley. Not sure if it caused any fraying or anything like that, but seems like a decent solution for grip.

Just picked up 2 rolls of toner plastics and 1 roll of inland (chinese boxed and sealed) from microcenter. Hoping the Inland gives good results cause it was regularly priced at $14.99.

I think my thermistor got messed up when I was cleaning the hotend. Took it out and re-seated it and now it's back to normal.

What do you mean "new endstops"? So long as you coordinate your endstops with the direction your motors are moving, you should be good.

The small gear was printed with a large gear (wades gear set).
I've got a fan that is constantly blowing in the hot end. Everything is set up the same.
I have a j head I am going to try to switch to and see if that helps.

Printing
So I had to clean out my hot end this past weekend because it was constantly jamming. I put everything back in the right spot and everything but now my prints are coming out terrible.
Here's a picture:
Left is what the quality was like before, right is after I reinstalled the hot end.
I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas?
It a Ubis hot end on a Printrbot JR v1.

You should be able to add a "post print" code where it homes the z axis.

So I have done a number of print jobs and sold a few things on the forum (as I am sure many others have). I have also nearly been scammed, and I know others actually have been scammed from deals that originate via a thread on in the B/S/T (buy/sell/trade) sections. I realize that the forum operators are not liable for anything what so ever.
That said, why not have a "User Feedback" forum?

How do they compare to the Astrosyn dampeners?
PS. Nice parts.

Mechanics
For sourcing, I typically use Robotdigg. They have almost all parts all in one place. You could probably find all the parts you need for cheaper from a bunch of different places on Alibaba/Aliexpress, but ordering basically everything from one place makes life a lot easier.
For the printer, cheapest of those is the i2. Strongest, Mendelmax, and the i3 is very popular.
I would also suggest loo

Have you tried printing PLA without heat?
Right now I'm printing on purple glue sticks and an unheated bed and I rarely have problems with warping and sticking. If I do, it's a simple reapplication of glue.

Plus you need reliable safety measures in place should something like a fire occur when you're not there.

I'd say go with RAMPS. Especially if you just want to print. There is lots of support which is really nice.

Idk if you're planning non it but you should ad triangular beams at the corners and possible a beam in the middle to stiff it up.

Anything all metal should be able to handle pretty much any material.
Apart from that, it seems everything in anecdotal. The original J-head it typically suggested for it proven track record in reliability and consistency. If you do go with a j-head, make sure it is an original from hotends.com. A lot of the clones are crappy and jam frequently.

I would say either the E3D v6, original J-Head, or the Ubis (printrbot hotend). I've been using my Ubis for close to a year and not had any major problems.

Awesome design! I might convert my large format printer to this layout just to save on space and make wire management/maintenance easier.
If the crossover becomes a problem, you can always run the belts at 2 different heights. That's what I've got going right now and it's working great.

If you have all the parts and have tested it out yourself then your results should be sufficient to post something publicly.
More than likely there are people in the community that have a good deal if knowledge on what you want to do but will either not see this thread or won't join your project privately.
That's the beauty of open source. You can get a lot of input relatively quickly and easi

I've personally never used them but from what I have heard they are plenty stable enough.
A typical wheel slider should have enough tension to pull the wheels towards each other and the wheel should be cut well enough that there is very little slop when they are in the extrusion slots.

You want 1.6 million? Holy shit!!
I didn't read the campaign, but have you done any development thus far apart from think about it?
Typically a successful campaign asks only for the money to cover production. IE. They have used thir own funds to get to the production phase and have a final prototype that is working and ready to go.
From what I can tell just from reading this thread you don't

The reason I went with 1.75mm filament is because its becoming the standard. With a proper drive mechanism its reliable, light and has more options as of today.
I think I may just buy a all metal j-head that has brass removable nozzles and a few nozzles/drill bits as well varying from .6mm to .8mm or even 1mm. That should make it easy to replace the nozzles and speed up my prin

That's pretty much it.
You may need to switch around the endstop or motor directions, but thats pretty easy. Oh and of course set the steps/mm (which should be the same for each motor).
