If i can't buy it, it's uselessby leprud - General
I got rather small motors, less then 40 gramms. No current control, always at max, so using PWM for "power control" The only good thing about BL motors is tiny step, i guess, even with 8 bit PWMby leprud - Look what I made!
Howdy. Don't know why and what for, but i made brushless gimbal motors to act as steppers Used open-source BGC (martinez design, i guess, widely available) with L6234, simple coding, and whoila! Tick-tock on full speed with 250 steps with 150 steps and acting as driver for standard marlin/ramps Now i'm thinking of how can i use them: torque is real low, motors get really hot, they are notby leprud - Look what I made!
Well, have question to think about, still thinking of ready-made chains.. Actually, i want everything to be made with simple tools and off-the-shelf materials/items, preferrable automotive.. Have some ideas, will try them! Thanks for support!by leprud - Look what I made!
QuoteApsu Not a bad start! I'm sure you see what I see, which is the Z tower wobbling, just like it did in my build. If you brace that up it should improve the behavior quite a bit. Looking decent! Oh yes! It shakes like it always wanted to make a "harlem shake" I hope more brackets will help me, as now only one bracket is supporting Z tower. Also, need to rethink of joints, maybe loosening it wby leprud - Look what I made!
So, quickly put the belts on and gave it a test run. Well, could be better..by leprud - Look what I made!
Quotenicholas.seward I had a similar problem with LISA Simpson. I ended up making a zero clearance extension to one side. Video linked below. That said...screws will wobble and arm angle changes will effect your position on the screw making the kinematics problematic. I considered using screws for a Tripteron a few times but the recouping of the kinematics always turned me off along with myby leprud - Look what I made!
QuoteApsu Very cool!! I worry a little about your joint stiffness, but it looks you're using self-aligning bearings in those effector housings, and bushings or thrust washers in the other joints. That could definitely work if the bolt holes are accurate enough and bolts clamped down. As you discovered, designing and building your own joints in a way that they rotate smoothly but retain their oriby leprud - Look what I made!
Hello! I'm also trying to buid tripteron. At first i wanted it to be without any linear slides, only trapezoidal screws, but failed to mount arm on nuts, that it won't move, so i had a "leaning" sideways arm, as nuts "tickle" on screw. Of course used two nuts, different rubbers, screws, elongations, etc. Nothing helped.. So i ordered linear slides and this is what i've done today. No plastic,by leprud - Look what I made!
Found some other options So called "Photo ball head", available at LHS, not sure about prices and materials Also, you have McMaster-Carr with steel 3/4" balls.. And finally, take a look at Stud Mount Ball Transfer , like theseby leprud - Delta Machines
Maybe i didn't understand correctly, but there are threaded balls, i.e. used in piercing Lots of sizes available Also, there are lots of "inner thread balls"by leprud - Delta Machines
