The biggest thing I've printed is the "Virginia Cavaliers" logo in the video. I'm itching to print more, but I'm away at college and the printer is back in my garage at home.by ed328 - Look what I made!
I decided a few years ago to try to scale up the regular 8" prusa i3 to 24" as a side project. After a 4 years I finally got it to a point where it functions. I made a short video showcasing the build, and I wanted to share it. So here it is:by ed328 - Look what I made!

Hello all, I am working on creating a printer with a large heat bed (24x24) and I wanted to control it with a separate temperature controller, not with the RAMPS board on the printer. Basically what I'm trying to do is similar to how gcreate is controlling their bed: I wanted to ask if anyone knows where to buy a controller like this or how to make one similar to this?by ed328 - Reprappers
Maybe try upping the first layer width? I use 225%by ed328 - Printing
So I recently bought some alloy 910 nylon filament from taulman 3d and I am having great difficulty with the moisture issues. I have a (mostly) airtight container with about 20 dessicant packets inside as well as a tube to my printer. I dried the nylon in the oven for about 8 hrs at 180 F, and as soon as I started printing with it in the container there were bubbles in the print and cracking noby ed328 - Printing
So I have a prusa i3 set up with a servo for auto leveling and about a week ago, it completely stopped working. The mechanical probing of the bed at each point works fine without problem. However when I adjust the z distance from extruder in the config.h file so that it lines up correctly, nothing happens. Every single time it levels no matter how much I change the z distance from extruder, itby ed328 - Printing
I've been busy, so I haven't been able to work on it. I ordered a 600x600 silicon bed from alibaba about a week ago. I think that's the way to go. If I find any problems I'll tell you.by ed328 - Reprappers
Quotedougal1957 Quoteed328 Yeah that's what I meant. I guess my wording was not very clear. try I3 Alloy frame Thanks!by ed328 - Reprappers
QuoteZavashier Multiply external PSU and use relays. 13A/heatbed under 12v or 9A/heatbed under 24v. To me, the prusa i3 architecture is not scalable that much. You can increase a bit Y and Z but I would keep X dimensions as close possible as the original. Scaling a machine is not as simple as increasing dimensions. You should increase exponentialy structure profiles, guides and transmission. Pricby ed328 - Reprappers

I'm planning on building a 24"x24" prusa i3, and i wanted to know how to control the four 12"x12" beds all at once. Any suggestions?by ed328 - Reprappers
I was planning on building a 24x24 single plate i3, and I wanted to know if anyone had the regular 8" bed file (model, drawing, etc.)by ed328 - Reprappers
So I have been using the auto bed leveling feature that ZennmasterM made videos about. It has been working great until my servo arm decided to stop moving. When this happens, the words on my LCD display darken. I can usually move the servo arm manually so that I can actually use the command to move it again. This time, I can't. Does anyone know if there is a way to reset the servo? Every tby ed328 - Printing
I have a makerfarm prusa i3 8 inch and the x-axis belt has become droopy. The motor used to tighten the belt is as far over as it can be moved. I am not sure what is causing this problem, has anyone encountered this before???by ed328 - Printing
