I've been using the PEI sheets ever since I've had the Prusa MK3S, both the smooth and the textured. PLA sticks ok to both of them. PETg and ABS, if anything, stick a bit too well and really need a release agent. Some of the Prusa textured sheets are bad, but apparently I got one of the good ones. The only things that are tricky WRT sticking are small-footprint PLA prints and the first layerby jsw - Printing
IIAC, Makerbot is now a subsidiary of Stratasys, and has been for some time.by jsw - General
Quotethe_digital_dentistbut that's not too hard or expensive compared to other ways of generating sound at 5 - 20 Hz... Actually, if you think about it (and not to hijack the thread even further), such a scheme would go down to 0hz, or DC. ;-) Now if we could only reach blue light on the tweeter end. ;-)by jsw - General
I'm very curious, but I have yet to hear from anyone other than the manufacturer and dealers that it's some kind of a magic solution to the PLA not sticking issue. I'm almost curious enough to try to somehow get a sample of it and try it on the I3, if I could get just one. They come in packs of three for US $ 39 at the Makerbot Store, and $59 from some reseller on Amazon, so I'm not THAT curiouby jsw - Reprappers
I'm not having any issues. I was just curious about the 'new' surface that Makerbot/Stratasys was hyping.by jsw - Reprappers
Streamline moderne diner for O scale model railroad. Layered construction, mostly Hatchbox silver ABS. Mk3S.by jsw - Look what I made!
Thanks. No, that was a layered print. Different filaments for layers. The streamline moderne style is easy to do in layers. I'll post a diner I did in a similar style. (LOL, I just noticed in the photo above there is a diode lying on the top. :-)by jsw - Look what I made!
I would think that if it were indeed PEI, they would refer to it by that name.by jsw - Reprappers
This was brought about by a thread on another board, but I thought I would ask here too. Makerbot is touting their 'Grip Surface' on the replaceable build plates for their new(er) Replicator Plus as being fool-proof, as in first-time-every-time adhesion of the first layer (at least with their proprietary PLA). Does anyone here know what, exactly, the surface of these 'Grip Surface' plates is maby jsw - Reprappers
Looks like some kind of X axis mechanical issue to me, among possible other things.by jsw - Printing
Based somewhat on the typical 1950s moderne-styled Sunoco stations that used to be commonly seen in the States. The car in the photo is not of the correct scale. Car is S scale.by jsw - Look what I made!
