All, Good info, Ill see if I can give it all some time today/tomorrow! BTW what about the diode that powers the arduino? I can leave all that alone right? Also what size fuse should I replace with?by TheSniper - RAMPS Electronics
Imqqmi, So I can leave the 5A input connector with the current 12PSU. and in addition use the 11a input connector a 24vPSU.? if this is correct. then remove my 12v to 24v Heated bed stepup voltage device and just wire straight to my heated bed? (just to reitterate I currently have a heated bed. its a 24v model but uses a 12V to 24v step up converter) -Sam FWiW the image you provided shows onlyby TheSniper - RAMPS Electronics
All, Curious. In as short a question possible. Can a 12 and a 24V PSU be mixed together to supply a Ramps1.4? More explaining: My current setup uses a 12V PSU. with heated bed fans lights etc.... I want to be able to segregate my heated bed to run specifically on a 24V PSU. Is the circuitry on the ramps. such that the input for the heated bed side separate from the lower amperage side? Curious how did you handle the wiring ? Schematic? I have a 12 setup across the board. with a 12 to 24 v stepup converter for my heated bed. I want to leave everything as is. except for the HEated bed so I thought I would add a standalon 24V PS . Id lose the 12 to 24 step up converter in lou of the new 24v ps. But how to tie it in? I know on the out put side... it just goes to the heater. but Hoby TheSniper - RAMPS Electronics

dc42, Okay, so you were correct as well as my assumption about the Mins vs Secs relative to the mm. I determined that 210 was a comfortable Z speed minus say 15% left me with 2.98 I left it at 3. but 2 would have work just as well. This completely resolved my Motors stalling. So now I was ready to print my first part. But it failed. Having done the Bed leveling. Auto PID for both the bed and hby TheSniper - Slic3r
DC42, Perhaps Im looking in the wrong place. From what I understand. Slic3r gets its speeds from the config.h In my case These lines. #define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {80,80,4000,845} // default steps per unit for Ultimaker #define DEFAULT_MAX_FEEDRATE {300, 300, 5, 25} // (mm/sec) #define DEFAULT_MAX_ACCELERATION {2000,2000,50,10000} // X, Y, Z, E maximum start speeby TheSniper - Slic3r
All, Slic3r 1.1.7 When generating a Gcode output. my Feed rates are excessive. For example. Z moves of F7800.00 X moves F9000.00 When doing my first prints my motors stall. due to the G code output. I have looked near every where in Pronterface and Slic3r for the speed settings relative to the G code output. -Samby TheSniper - Slic3r
Ohmarinus, Curious How did you end up adapting a the i3 Z carriage assembly onto your MM1.5? What parts did you choose and can/could/would you provide Pics and or links. Looking to change my Z assembly from the typical MM style to the i3 style . Which looks like you accomplished. Which implies the Z carrage can now be selected from the i3 family. TIA. Borispider, That looks great the pics. I took a brief look at your Photo stream. Thats an interesting looking printer you have their. great job. Also it looks like you built your own extruder? I say this because the tip looks like its been sanded on etc... As for my printer? Sad. but its the same just sitting looking for some attention. Borispider, Im in Tampa. I keep threatening to pick up the pieces. but, probably not far from yr scenario Im self employed and when it comes to non profit projects I too have to pick and choose. So far im about 1400.00 in with no produceable results to speak of.. Tampa is not very seasonal at least not that Im aware of. But wow has it ever been slow here for business. istar scope club? All, Im still alive and well. My MM build is half built and half in the box. I have all the parts necessary but lost focus on it. (Sad but true) I was in the parts a acquisition phase. and mid stream I decided I wouldnt be happy with the bed design So I ordered the new bed slide system from TrinityLabs. while their great people it took 3-4 months for me to get the part. in that time I completelyby TheSniper - RepRap User Group - Florida, Tampabay
Archistrong, Thanks for the good info. The overall mass was concerning me. I was going to skeletonize the aluminum plate. to reduce its over all mass. i have tons on hand, should be an easy part to build. But after reading your post Ill consider Acrylic or plastic in general. both of which I have plenty of on hand. Excellent. info Will be most helpful 2 things further: 1:What do you mean by the "small tab" 2: What is the recommended height for between beds. fwiw my Build is using the same Y guides as in the pic @thingiverse. I was intending on using 3/16-1/4 plate aluminum for the lower and upper pretty comparable to the one on Thingiverse. All, Assuming one was intending on using a Mk1 heated bed. what would the Y bed size be? I intend on making a dual layers on with a spring setup keeping them separated. So the lower Y bed, then the springs, then the upper Y bed which will have the Mk1 pcb heater on then glass on top of that. Im guessing the bed should be larger than the heater foot print> which is 214 mm square. Last questionby TheSniper - General Mendel Topics
