Old thread but still a pertinent question. So a couple of things not said above. mechanical switches are classic example of the application of positive feedback. Once they get to a certain point they snap in the opposite state because a spring reaches a 'tipping point' and applies even more forward force. This gives a relatively fast and reliable transition. opto sensors gives a continuoby wrapperz - General
Well I got it working after wasting a lot of time. The problem was the fact that they supply a broken ( or badly configured ) std Marlin version . When I tried the autolevel "AC" version it worked ! Obviously they do not even test the software they send with the printer. I figured it would be wise to run std Marlin and worry about the AC feature once it was build and tested. Apparently they asby wrapperz - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Thanks for the MKS tip I will check that out. The sensor is not short-circuit, neither is there a short at the header pins, so that makes it unlikely that there is a short seen by the processor. That points to a configuration problem. I have got the printer working by compiling and flashing Merlin-AC ( auto-levelling version ) provided by the manufacturer. The problem was found when I used tby wrapperz - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Thanks Robert, If fact I think the photo is a MKS gen L v1.0 though I don't have access to the board to check, the owner is supposed to email me tomorrow. It is billed to be fully RAMPS 1.4 compatible and Marlin was set to RAMPS_14_EFB but this fails as soon as it starts with MAXTEMP on the extruder sensor. Still can't determine whether this is a defective board or a config problem.by wrapperz - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Hi, I'm trying to help out a friend who has bought a 3D printer but is way out of his depth with the software which he , not unreasonably, thought would be installed and working. There seems to be config problem but the chinese manufacturer is oddly silent about what he actually selling. He talks about all the features of the machine except the most important one: the controller board. Canby wrapperz - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Is was is being tested and discussed here is the same flsun as shown here: If so could someone link me a working, tested configure.h and indicate what version of Marlin it applies to ( apparently they have not maintained compatibility and older configs no longer work with more recent Marlin versions. ) Shame that the chinese supplier can't manage to provide something which works once assembby wrapperz - Extruded Aluminum Frames
Hi, I am trying to help out a mate who bought a chinese flsun "metal frame 3d printer". First some background info on the setup: It is apparently delivered totally virgin state with no firmware and an SD card with Arduino, Marlin and windoze drivers and Repetier host software for Win. There is a problem with the driver for windoze which after much time wasted going round in circles I am noby wrapperz - Extruded Aluminum Frames
