As per thread title. The first thing I printed on my Ender 5 was the cat from their SD card, and the way the carriage banged into the end stops was shockin' missus! I've read that the firmware can be altered to reduce the homing speeds. So do I need an update? As I can't imagine there's any way to make changes through the basic control board. Which firmware is currently recommended? Thanx in adby cheapo - Firmware - Marlin

I've just been to the Tevo website and their suggest firmware upgrades are Repetier, available from Dropbox. So I presume the installed one is also Repetier. The LCD says Migbot 3D Printer, and no, there's no access to port settings via the screen. Unfortunately Tevo don't even offer the board or screen as a spare part. Of course I suppose I should get something done under warranty as I only boby cheapo - General
Thanx for your help Dust. Yes my machine is detecting the device, both in syslog and in lsusb, but syslog says there is no input driver, so it's ignored. And that's the same with or without the end stops plugged in. Heh, I guess if someone was pretty kack handed and forceful they might get them reversed, but they are handed, with two 'keys' that fit two slots in each socket on the board. Termiby cheapo - General
Tevo Tarantula is simply not detected by my Linux Ubuntu PC. Using the same USB2A to USB2B printer cable for my HP inkjet printer and that is immediately detected and ready to go. I bought a new cable from RS-Components.com and the result is the same. I'm using Cura software, which is part of the approved software repository in Ubuntu, but it says "The Printer Is Not Connected". I can print via Sby cheapo - General
Did you fix your problem yet Prakash? It sounds exactly like mine! If not, does the nozzle actually get warm? If it stays cold, you'll have to check the heater. Mine was no good from the start. I removed it from the hot end and disconnected the wires from the board, then I applied an independent 12v power source to them. Cold! I see what you mean o_lampe, But I still say they're not right. Delrin is a good product, we sometimes machine it for one or two of our customers. Anyhoo, let me try and post a pic or two of what I've done to the extrusions. I had to carefully file all the edges at the end of each extrusion to remove any burrs and sharp edges. And there's a pic of cutting down 50 M4 bolts. That was tedious letby cheapo - Extruded Aluminum Frames
My first post, my first 3D printer and my first "DOH!" I'll be honest and say I wasn't expecting a Rolls Royce, but yeap, the poor quality of the T nuts and matching (hahahahahah) bolts, is preventing me from completing the build. After I kick started my old steam powered verniers, some of the M4 bolts only measure 3.8mm diameter on the thread. That wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for some on theby cheapo - Extruded Aluminum Frames
