Installing Bugfix-1.1.x. worked for the MAXTEMP error I was gettiing, but I have a different issue now. I can move all axis in the positive direction, but not negative. I didn’t have any end/stops connected yet, so I connected the Z min e/s, but it didn’t make any difference. Can only move it up, not down. Is there another setting that might cause this? I just thought, I am using a two wirby charlieRC - Firmware - Marlin
Sheesh.... I ended up with several versions of marlin over the years and apparently I got them mixed up. I will try and download what you suggested. I am pretty sure I wrote down everything that I changed... but then, I also thought I knew which version I was running. Thanksby charlieRC - Firmware - Marlin
i am making some mods to my Cartesian printer and have tried to calibrate the z motors.. I first used an older version of Marlin (don't remember the version) and tested that the motors worked. I connected fine. I then downloaded and configured the latest and greatest version of Marlin, uploaded it and now I can;t connect. The only things I have connected at this point are the Z motors and theby charlieRC - Firmware - Marlin
Actually, you gave me the answer. In all these years, I have never had to pay attention to configuration_adv, so I didnt think to look in there. Something must have happened when I was editing configuration.h and configuration_adv.h was completely blank. I went back to the zip file, re-installed and re-configured configuration.h and bingo. It compiled fine. The missing POI for me was that BLby charlieRC - Firmware - Marlin
No, the only things I have changed is the motherboard, machine name, thermistors, max heat, and steps per unit. The serial port is still set to 0. Could there be issues related to the IDE version?by charlieRC - Firmware - Marlin
i am trying to reload Marlin on a newly repaired Mini Rambo controller. Using Marline 1.1 code and Arduino IDE 1.8.9 When I try to compile the firmware, I get an error in Marlin_main.cpp:: "BLOCK_BUFFER_SIZE was not declared in this scope". Can somebody help me to figure out what I need to do to get past this? I used this board for a couple years with an older version of Marlin firmwareby charlieRC - Firmware - Marlin

Nema 17, 24v system, about 24” to the controller. Awg 18 stranded wire ok???by charlieRC - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Thank you!! That solves my problem.by charlieRC - Controllers
I have a bunch of 40mm 24v fans and I want to use one of them on a case that I just designed for the Mini Rambo. I know I can pull 24v from the input power (24v system) but would rather find a way to pull it from one of the board pins. There are two fan connectors, but I believe those are powered from a 5v rail (although the docs I"ve seen are not real clear). I've tried to find something thby charlieRC - Controllers
So far, the spring-loaded mount has solved the issue...or at least, I’ve done quit a few prints without further issue. Hopefully, this was my solution. I can easily increase the upward pressure by moving the top washer down a bit, but for now, just knocking wood.by charlieRC - General
That was my first concern, but it proved to be a non-issue. I can feel no heat in the tube. I may try putting a temp probe against the tube, but I feel only a few degrees above ambient temp.by charlieRC - General
Spring loaded air tube The air ring is about a half mm above the tip, but can’t be sure it’s not dipping during printing, so I spring loaded it to see if tha helps. Also my speed may have been a little aggressive. I’ll see how this works.by charlieRC - General
I’ve been using the Berd air pump and for the most part, I love. Unfortunately I am having a problem with the air ring snagging on the part being printed. It happens every dozen or so prints, and when it does, the air ring and the part being printed are history. The maker hive site says I should not let the air ring touch the heat block so am using a silicone boot on the heat block and nestingby charlieRC - General
I have been very happy with the output of my printer. I am using 0.2mm layer height and the prints have been almost perfect. I was getting a nice little vertical line where the layer started (using "aligned" start). Now I guess something has changed because I am getting a nasty 1/8" gash for a seam line. I can't figure out what has changed. I tried going to random alignment and the pieces loby charlieRC - Slic3r
Yep! That worked after updating the firmware. Thank you very much for your help.by charlieRC - Duet
Ok, I hooked up the Berd air to the Duet E1 Heater connector being careful about polarity. I added a fly-back diode. I went into the webcontrol app and I still did not see an option for any heater beyond heater1. I am unclear on where I should be able to control this. I went into config.g and modifed by copying the p1 lines to p2 (last two lines below). This was just a shot in the dark.by charlieRC - Duet
Hmmmm... so what someone said about the newest duet WiFi having a larger misfit that allowed direct connection of the berd air was incorrect... or I misunderstood. Glad you clearified that. Thanks.by charlieRC - Duet
I probably should know this but I don’t. I am configuring a newly built CoreXY printer withe the Duet WiFi and the E3d titan arrow 24v. The titan comes with a 24v fan (I assume - no indicator on the fan). Is it safe or appropriate to use any of the full on or pwm fan ports on the Duet? I will also be using a 24v berd air pump, and I’ve been told that it’s safe to use on the duet fan portby charlieRC - Duet
I’ve been using slic3r for some time now and have never been clear on this: on the speed settings that allow a %, which parameter is the percent calculated on? The manual does not seem to clarify this.by charlieRC - Slic3r
Thanks. I will cut the extrusion multiplier a bit and look at my speeds. I have to admit that the speed settings for me are a bit of a dark art. Based on your response, I think I can come up with a small piece to use as a testing print and play around with the settings.by charlieRC - Slic3r
Using PLA and Slic3r, I have a slight issue with puckering on the top layer (see image). I say slight issue because for the most part it has not caused me any functional problems, only visual ones. I can get rid of most of it with a file. Question is, how should I go about getting rid of this. In slic3r, I have played around with the extrusion multiplier and that doesn't seem to fix the issueby charlieRC - Slic3r
Unfortuntely or fortunately, I have had pretty good luck with setting that i used in Slic3r for the past few yeasrs, so I have never had to learn how to improve on the original settings. Now i need to do some experimenting with accelleration to try and overcome some issues with missed steps when infilling small areas. There is way too much jerk and not clear on what I need to do to get aroundby charlieRC - Slic3r
Addendum: The folks at Duet came through for me. I recieved a replacement v1.04 board today. It took a while, partually because of some miss communication between me, Duet and my vendor. Once that got ironed out, they sent the new board. Unfortunately, it sat in customs hear in the US for a couple weeks before making it to me. I had a several people following this whole process and I wanby charlieRC - Duet

I hope I didn't flood you with PMs. I kept sending and when I would go back in, I wouldn't see it so I posted, I think three times. I still don't see it but I will hope you do. If not, I can post here, but I assume you didn't want me to do that.by charlieRC - Duet

Our standard policy is that where there is no indication that the user has done anything wrong, and the board fails within a short time, we replace it with a brand new board. We sometimes offer a refurbished board when the failure was most likely due to user error, or the board is technically out of warranty, but in these cases we make sure that tby charlieRC - Duet
I bought a Duet WiFi v1.04. One of the things I really liked was the blade fuses and the fact that they got rid of the erase button. After three days, the card just died. I hadn’t even got it set up fully yet. I followed the instruction on the Duet web site, contacted my reseller, filled the forms the required, and sent the board off to the address they gave me. I week later I was happy to geby charlieRC - Duet
I am running pronterface on a Raspberry Pi 3. The pi sd card got damaged so I built a new one. I reinstalled pronterface and I am having an issue with either pronterface, or the pi that causes the printer to just stop. The imidiate problem is that the console panel is not showing on the screen and I can’t find a place to turn it on. The printer just stops after a few minutes of printing and wby charlieRC - Printrun/Pronterface
