Dave, did you find a solution? I have exactly the same problem; triple checked the geometry . . cant find any issues.by johnpanter - Delta Machines
Seemed to have sorted this by trial and error. Tried to calibrate extruder by sending different values using M92 Ennn. to firmware from pronterface. Eventually settled on M92 E635 which gives 101mm through the extruder using 1.75 filament. Stored the new setting to Eprom with M500 on completionn. Thanks again to everyone thats helped.by johnpanter - Delta Machines
OK. see your point. As pronterface uses mm/min, I estimate 5mm/s equals 300mm/min. I was already set at 400mm/min, but with the rate set at 300mm/min (5mm/s) as you suggest, the extruder still only pushes 16mm of filament towards the hot end (through the tube) when I try to send 100mm.by johnpanter - Delta Machines
Bob, Not tried to extrude at any speed yet as the extruder isnt calibrated. When I try to extrude 100mm, only 16mm is extruded; wanted to get somewhere close to correct before trying to lay down plastic.by johnpanter - Delta Machines
Rostock is now doing the right things, thanks to all the help from this forum. Now trying to calibrate the geared extruder by measuring the filament. Using 'Triffid Hunter's Calibration guide - After a pronterface manual extrude of 100mm, I get 16mm through the extruder. My 'E-Steps from my delta marlin 'configuration_adv.h' seems to be is 836 (see below) ====================== #ifdef ADVANCEby johnpanter - Delta Machines
Many thanks Andrew; it does look as though the endstops are now reacting. I suppose it serves me right, buying a board with no instructions. The Min pins were marked 'X', 'Y' & 'Z' 'endstop's. The max pins were unmarked. It just took your prompt and a leap of faith.by johnpanter - Delta Machines
And how do I change that Andrew?by johnpanter - Delta Machines
I've had a 'reprappro' mendel for about 8 month. Easy to build up and worked straight away; the firmware was already on the electronics board so getting great prints was just a matter of spending some time with settings - initially with skeinforge then later with slicer. I built a rostock delta about 3 months ago, sourcing the parts on line. The build went well. However . . . I have spent abouby johnpanter - Delta Machines
Andrew , have looked at pins.h board 33 but dont know how to do what you suggest . . edit pins.h to pus the Y endstop on the x-max pin, and plug Y into x-max. Ooooohh my head hurts. Can you explain the procedure it a little more ? I'm at a standstill now; just cant get the pronterface to control the rostock thru the ramps #if MOTHERBOARD == 33 || MOTHERBOARD == 34 #define X_STEP_PIN 5by johnpanter - Delta Machines
Have tried motherboard configurations 3, 33 and 34 in the marlin file 'configuration.h'. Each gives a different set of problems. Motherboard 3 (MEGA/RAMPS up to 1.2). Using this, X and Z endstops trigger when pressed (but no reaction from Y endstop), Any input to X, Y or extruder motor, results in the extruder going one way or the other at varying speeds?!?!? Motherboard type 33 (RAMPS 1.3 (Poby johnpanter - Delta Machines
Now seem to have got all endstop switches showing open (by reversing the logic in config.h) // The pullups are needed if you directly connect a mechanical endswitch between the signal and ground pins. const bool X_ENDSTOPS_INVERTING = true; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstops. const bool Y_ENDSTOPS_INVERTING = true; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstops. const bool Z_by johnpanter - Delta Machines
Still 'birthing' the Rostock. All hardware seems to be working; bhot bed, hot end, steppers, extruder etc. Still trying to 'home all axis'. When any carriage hits its endstop, the carriage doesnt move away and return slowly, instead the printer instantly disconnects from the PC. I then have to disconnect power and USB, close down pronterface, re-insert, re-establish USB link etc.etc. I suspeby johnpanter - Delta Machines
Many thanks. Sure enough, those splendid windows people had hidden the extension; Ooohhh I laughed.by johnpanter - Delta Machines
No; there's no 'marlin.ino' either. Have attached a screengrab of the file names in the directory; there are 5 with 'marlin' in the name. One (with no extension) is a 'processing source code' file ?!? Others following this procedure must have found the file elsewhere?by johnpanter - Delta Machines
Hi guys, Another 'Newbee' problem. Ive built my Rostock printer. I am trying to download the marlin V1 firmware to my Arduino mega /RAMPS 1.4.. I'm following the 'Configuration and Compilation' guidance, on 'Github.com/jcrocholl/Marlin/tree/marlin_V1 webpage. I'm at 'Start the arduino IDE.
