Thanks mate! Appreciate it. What do you have as your endstop max height?by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Does anyone have the arm length and radius for sintron metal + traxxas ends? Trying to configure a firmware but not at home right now. arm_length 196.8 # this is the length of an arm from hinge to hinge arm_radius 101.9 # this is the horizontal distance from hinge to hingeby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Aluminum tube? Edit: I see now! uuuuggggly ABS droop. Maybe print a different extruder/drive? I avoided the Sintron metal extruder, not sure why but went a printed direction. Has a much smaller footprint, nowhere for the ABS to droop. Take a look, very nice. You'll need a small(er) bearing though, maybe the metal one has one you can take. I also don't like where the extruder is placed on theiby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Thanks mate, I like the design - would you be able to upload the STL's you created/using? I would like to mimic the design if you don't mind. I'd like it all in one and the PSU i'm using (same as your's 30A) is too big. I was always planning on using a small 10A LCD PSU but wanted a heatbed. Just to keep it looking pretty I found this: It's a cable tidy for the 2020 kossel.by kingoddball - Delta Machines
@ Neb: Yeah, the head pausing is (from what I saw/read around) from the 8bit controller being too slow for the kossel and read-ahead. Something like that. Very slow - Which is why I skipped that and opted for the 32bit-100/120mhz controller. It cost me $100 delivered for the AZSMZ + LCD (Smoothieware compatible). That drop down/raiser is great! I like it alot! I think I may have to borrow 'inby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Quick pics of printer. Is anyone using BuildTak for the case? Its brilliantly sticky! I use this on my UP Mini and sticks better than the perf board.by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Has modified software been released? How do I get software from second post? Anyone used this yet? thanks!by kingoddball - Controllers
@ Nebbian - That print looks good. Like you said, a few blobs from heat. Are you using PLA? 0.3mm layer? The layers look big and loose (surely they are not, just looks). What is the PSU they supplied? Would you have a pic? I'm still building mine as you know - I'm up to the PSU. Not sure what size I need thinking 240w/20A. I have built >12 printers. When I see a design I like I generally tryby kingoddball - Delta Machines
@Nebbian - The printer seems to be printing great! My unit is together now - all axis, motors and extruder. Have not wired it up or tried to move any parts but together! @ All: I have finished up the 12mm magnet carriage I was working on. There's a pic of printed unit setup. The carriage above will connect to current Sintron parts (any 2020 extrusion and carriage).by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Thanks mate, I'll keep waiting. I ordered my parts from ebay (traxxis) USA which is taking for ages - I ended up ordered yesterday from the PerthRC store you linked. I'm stuck with an assembled frame, not much else i can do. But I have redesigned a carriage to accept the 12mm radius magnets, really good piece - strong and so far reliable. Once I have it working, I'll upgrade it to magnets.by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Effectors: Sorry to bring this back up (one page ago). I doubt I'll bother going to Sintron, nice enough service but not worth the effort. Has anyone been able to modify the effector (maybe cut parts out of the edges?) to fit these metal connectors? I'm thinking of chopping some parts out (Will post up my idea in an image). Would this work or is it just worthless to try? (I've ordered Traxxis)by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Cool, thanks! I didn't actually buy the whole kit. I bought the pieces I wanted. Printed parts, rods, arms and wheels. I'm using an AZSMZ controller and 2amp motors etc. I wanted better quality parts for somethings - So mine will be a frankenstein. I'm now going to setup a magent effector kitby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Hi Nebbian, Two quick questions; one: Whats a Nebbian? Two: Z probe; is this required for anything? Only asking as the heat plate bolts directly to the steel frame so there is be (hopefully) no movement of the bed, not like the old i2's.by kingoddball - Delta Machines
QuoteMiamicraft Kingoddball, I hope it prints OK for you. My current printer has a .60 nozzle for large prints and it will not print the teeth. I have a .40 but don't want to go through the effort to re-calibrate. The Kossel will have the small nozzle when done. Good luck, Roger Hey, Printed great, no ugly hole on the bottom - Teeth are strong and it comes out to perfect match. My carbon/magnby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Free? Well I like the free side! I use TinkerCad for everything! Brilliant page!! Made everything so far, only issue is fine movement is harder! I'll be getting autodesk tonight, price is right!by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Thanks for that carriage!! The one on Thingi (original) one was bad and was continually failing to print [100% correctly] for me. Do you have any guides for learning autodesk? Your files have looked really good and I've not used autodesk 360 before.by kingoddball - Delta Machines
@ Miamicraft; I have done another redesign of the carriage also using Kossel-Linco effector and changed to 12mm in openscad. My printer is not able to print the GT2 teeth for some reason? (UP! Mini) If anyone is going to use the magnet kit (12mm/10mm balls). I still need to wait for my parts to arrive to see if files are right, unsure when it'll arrive. I will post the STL soon (need to makeby kingoddball - Delta Machines
So, I've taken a look at started a quick redesign to accomodate the cylinders rather than balls. I think I need to change these to 12mm over the current 10mm. I'll upload once I print and see how it feels.by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Hey, That piece looks brilliant. I'm a little confused what goes into what piece. What I see is that there is a flat (curved one side) piece that goes into the carriage and balls are on the rods? Is it possible to turn the round pieces into the flat disk shape? My pieces have not arrived yet but the way they are designed is: Disk > steel ball on rod | steel ball > disk. I'm going to pby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Hey, Correct acetone has no affect on PLA (or none I know of). My parts are 100% PLA. PLA strands are also extremely hard compared to ABS (ABS feels softer, if that makes sense). If you need an effector in ABS let me know. I havnt made the megnet effector yet, only one I found was 10mm socket, the parts I ordered are 12mm I'm reprinted intricate parts in ABS but for frame I'm using the big rby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Hey, Parts are printed in PLA. PLA feels smoother, shiny and doesnt have much flex. ABS feels much lighter - all my replacement parts are in ABS.by kingoddball - Delta Machines
@ Miamicraft: Sintron have sent me the STL they use. Attached. Let me know if I can help Steed ball = 10mm magnet ball joint = 12mm Edit: It's the same piece I linked to above Comparing these and they are the same. Just like the "Borrowed" build guide! hahahaby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Found it - or at least extremely close! As soon as I saw the word "Cheap". hahahhaa Extra: Printable roller wheels for that ^^^^ (above)!by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Thanks mate, I have sent a request (via ebay message). Told them one of their printed pieces is not usable -- one I have the hole is gone. sagged pla. That would be great if you are able to add the magnet parts!! I dont think they make this piece themselves, its bound to be somewhere.. I'm checking thingiverse for now then i'll move onto other GitHubs.by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Yep! Should be good, communal help is wonderful thing. Has anyone found the correct STL files for the magnet upgrade that will work with these pieces? I have not found the parts that will work; found effector but not slide/runners... If anyone in AU (or wherever) these are the cheapest Traxxas I found: Carbon rods with magnet - Maybe not the cheapest but seems to be easier all in one kit; cuby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Hey! So, my corner pieces were not that bad. I placed the 2020 on the top of each hole and used a small (2.5lb/1kg) hammer and they went in fairly well. Nice, tight and straight (enough??). Pretty much one of each piece is poorly printed. I may need to reprint some. The tops pieces, same way but REALLY gently tapping them down - do top of top corner, take off and do bottom - now they are a nicby kingoddball - Delta Machines
Is anyone able to assist with setup? I have built the machine finally got it plugged in today but all of my scans are spaghetti monsters. Scanning callibration cube and simple pieces (pawn and can). Nothing actually works for me. I can see it like it's working then it kind of explodes. I will post a few pics. Crazy. Also trying other things like moving bed in closer (using a Logitech C170) aby kingoddball - 3D Scanners, Book Scanners, and Optics
Thanks mate, Great info! Mine seem to be exactly the same as yours, just too small and inconsistent to use. I'll see how they go, but want to avoid printing new ones because I paid $45 for these (to save 20 hours printing). How many T-Slots/nuts did you use? I'm unsure if I have enough, I've used top and bottom pieces - will I need anymore than this? 8 * 3 for bottom corner 4 * 3 for top corneby kingoddball - Delta Machines
@ Nebbian. The corners are fine as a whole - just the print quality is off. Delamination on the bottom layers, no support was used so they are drooping and the 2020 slots are not a good fit (far too tight) - they can easily be correct with a file or small knife A build manual I have been using is: You may already have this but it's pretty close - main difference is 2020 extrusion vs open beam.by kingoddball - Delta Machines
Hey, So I ordered most of this kit (using different electronics). Do you have the build guide/PDF that you would have received with this? I'm using sintron parts, but bought piece by piece. I have noticed the same issue with the corner pieces not being correct and delaminating on the parts. Seems likely they will split once I insert the 2020 beam. So far it's fairly straightforward (was hopby kingoddball - Delta Machines
