Koko76 - Care to share how you will build the probe? I'm interested in using my delta as a 3d CMM of sorts. Mikeby Mike-Ross - Delta Machines
The idea of doing this with reprap like hardware / technology has merit, however I think you need to step back and consider the process before you choose a platform. Forming appears to happen at 135mm/s(320"/min). This speed is likely very dependant on material type and thickness and tool size so this is just a starting point... There is a not much need for a large Z range (lets say 50mm max).by Mike-Ross - Delta Machines
Just wondering if there is anybody in the Ottawa area with interest in making a 3D scanner? I willing to make one by myself but I wouldn't mind having a bit of collaboration on making it. It helps to get through the tricky bits when you have somebody else to work with... Thinking of this model but am open to others: FreeLSS Raspberry Pi controlled 3D scanner I would fabricate my own structby Mike-Ross - Canada, Ottawa-Gatineau RUG
QuoteTraumflug QuotejamesdanielvI think this is a next gen technology I'll follow you here when the stepper is replaced with a DC motor. The entire point of a stepper is to avoid the need for a closed loop. Once you have this closed loop, using a stepper is moot. DC motors are not all that great - you have the brushes that wear out, arcing from commutation creating electrical noise and the lowby Mike-Ross - General
OK, I got it to verify and upload to my Nano clone. Details of what I did to fix this are as follows for anyone else that runs into a similar issue with this firmware. Note that I really haven’t tested it out yet – this was just the first step in getting it working (it does seem to accept serial communications though as it replies back “ ok: “ to sent text / commands.
