I have a lot of sympathy for you. I agree with many of your statements. With the help of many on the forum I have got myself mostly running good. I replaced the extruder mechanism with a more powerful one (it's a beast). That worked until this past week. It keeps getting jammed lately. All the other issue I have been able to sort out. Josh is responsive, I will give him that, but I'm not iby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
So I didn't need the 3-in-1, it was printing pretty good. I just saw a video that said it was a good idea. I was struggling with my direct drive extruder, but now I have a geared one that would pull a car out of a garage, so I'm thinking that's ok... I'm going to look into Cura. I'm not sure Slic3r is doing it in some cases. I'm starting to think I'm having more issues with the slice than thby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I have a mini kossel. I got a lot of help so far and things are 'working'. Some prints are good, some not so much. Most recently the filament is not feeding. I watched a video to lightly oil the filament with 3-in-1 oil. So I am doing that now. It's only seemed worse frankly. I also notice that slic3r is good sometimes and pretty poor other times. Do you use other programs?by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
The auto PID worked perfectly. Thank you. Note: I didn't realize at first that it needed to be redone if your targeted to a different temp. Once I realized that (since I changed from 70 to 60 on my heat bed), all is perfect. I'm on to more exciting prints now. I just did the 45 degree overhang. That worked well. I tried a car with only the wheels holding the car up, that didn't go so welby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I'm going to run the M303 E-1 C3 S70. Are the results provided at the end of this process? I presume so. I will launch after this post. On the BED_LIMIT_SWITCHING defined to enable hysteresis. I see this in config.h but am not following what it is using. Both PID and BANG have max values of 225. In relation to an old config. I'm using Marlin/Arduino 1.0.6. I don't see specific values lisby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
Thank you, I will try this. I moved this response to my other thread. Thanks again.by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines

I didn't want to pollute the thread for those searching so I moved my heat bed questions to another thread. Thank you all for the help with the extruder, that is running like a champ now.by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I am trying to get my MakerGeek Heated bed setup and am having an issue getting it up to temp (sort of). If I set the temp to 70 in Slicer it will get to 66-67 relatively quickly and then take forever to get to 70. I suspected the plate was struggling to simply get to 70. Due to this I set the temp to 63, since it got there quickly. When I do that, the same type thing happens such that it gby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I will keep an eye on that the bursting into flames concern with the Sintron... Thank you. Here are my issues currently: 1. I am moving to the heated bed. It's struggling to get the bed up to temp. Interestingly I started with a target of 70 and it made it to 67 then really struggled to get to 70. I lowered to 63 to reduce the ramp time and it made it to 60 and then really slowed down. Heated bed is fixed. I never connected the second set of leads from the PSU to the board (11amp side). I just didn't find or notice any documentation on that. I was wondering what that input was for. I'm in pretty good shape now. This is what i'm working on. 1. I re-calibrated the x, y. It's good now. 2. I'm working on z. I'm running about 10.6mm for input of 10 (actual print size diffeby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
Uuuuuhhhh, of course??...... Maybe thats the problem... Thanks!by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
Love the video. I'm working on that now. In relation to the heat bed, no the board LED does not light up. There is not power where the leads pick up. Do you need to enable it in Arduino? That was my presumption. I tried searching on that and didn't find much. Working the calibration now which will keep me busy for a few hours.by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
Yeah that extruder caused me some heart ache. My x and y are pretty good as the pics show. Z is a bit off but the stopping didn't help. I will run off SD card next time. I'm sure it's not hard I just didn't look into it yet. I did a short vid to show quality. Looks pretty solid to me. I'm pretty happy for the first print. I see a few bulges but it could just be the stopping. I have a heaby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I think it was that extruder slipping I think. I put the geared one in I bought when I thought the motor was no good. It's a monster. The print appears to be great. 2 Questions: 1. I I am writing it stopped in the middle of a sweet print. It's going a few steps every few seconds now. Thoughts? I do have an SD card. Not sure how to print from it. I'm pretty sure the machine is doing itby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
215 was not much better. I was watching the extruder gear slip. I took my hand and tried to force the filament into the extruder, when I did that and it fed, it seems to print. I think I'm going to swap out to the high end extruder I bought. Something needs to change.by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
210 was worse. The extruder gear is slipping on the filament for sure. It seems like the filament just can't get through the hot end. Almost like the inside of it wasn't smooth or something. I'm going to 215.by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
1. When I pulled out the 1.75mm filament, there was a 'bulged' spot at the end and it measured just over 3mm. That pretty much confirms the 3mm head I think. 2. I applied these setting to my baseline: Layer height > 0.3 Perimeters > 15mm/s Infill > 30mm/s Travel > 100mm/s Extr 1st layer >205 Extr 2nd layer >205 Filament Diameter > 3mm dia 4. Good news on confirming 3mm hot end... The fan is on and blowing in the correct direction (I just double checked after the board switch over so thanks for the reminder). The hot end is 'getting hot'. Certainly burned my finger good last night... I will post my Slicr settings shortly. In relation to the 1.75mm: I simply heated up the hot end, pulled the 3mm out. Pulled it out of the tube anby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines

Here are the answers: 1. The hot end in the video is the one I have. I cannot 100% confirm the filament size it's supposed to take. MakerGeek website said it was a 1.75mm hot end in an email but their site says its 3mm. At start up heating at 220-225, I can feed filament relatively easily. Meaning if I click extrude, material comes out etc. 2. I believe the nozzle to be 0.4mm nozzle. I cby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I completely replaced the electronics. New Arduino board, ramps board and stepper drivers. Good news: Extruder Motor is unstoppable. However, I still cannot print. It's just not getting enough filament melting down. I was running 3mm, it started great and then go bogged down. Once it got bogged down, the stepper kept turning but the gear was slipping on the filament. I'm not 100% sure I haby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I did the check with the Arduino board by itself like the video. You couldn't get to it with the mega on top. It would be near impossible to reach and the connections are not through connections to get from the back. I think I'm just going to replace the entire electronics package when I get it (aside from the LCD daughter board which I'm guessing is good and not critical if it isn't).by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I watched the YouTube video. I have 12.4 volts going into the Arduino and the voltage regulator (measured by the video) is 3.5v. I presume that means it's blown. The video doesn't explain what it should read. I'm assuming it should read the full 12.4v (or close to it). Is that the case?by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I watched the voltage regulator video. I will do the test so see if that's the problem to know whether or not to replace the Arduino board too. Thanks for that link. I hear you on the RC Helicopters. I used to fly a T-Rex. Unfortunately I got good enough where I got board with normal flight. I had to keep trying inversion moves after that. Once that started, the hobby got out of control.by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
Yeah, so I guess I shouldn't have installed the new stepper after a monster week at work... A bit calmer this morning. Thanks for the further advise. I did check the Arduino board and upload a sketch and it did take it. So maybe the voltage regulator did blow. I will check that later today (have to head back to work unfortunately). I ordered a full electronics set, new Arduino, Mega and 5 sby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
I blew it. Literally. I put the new stepper on but I had two of the prongs handing off the end of the slot (so 1 slot off). Whole board is cooked. I'm showing .3v on the new stepper at the extruder and the other steppers show .5v. Display is blank, I cannot connect with Pronterface and I can't upload with Ardruino. Do I need to buy both the primary board and the secondary board? Probably.by Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
This is what I found: First I tried tweaking the pot up a bit per your note. The volts were going up but very very little with a quarter turn (1mv) Next I swapped the E stepper driver with the X stepper. The X motor won't work now. That supports the stepper driver is not good. BUT....The extruder motor, didn't change or if it did, not much. I can still stop it although it seems to take moreby Dark Skunk - Delta Machines
