Im posting the stl link for a jig I made to assemble the carbon rods and ends that come with the Kossel Kit from Folger Tech. Its critical to get all of the rods at the same length for quality prints. Let me know if anyone has any questions.by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
I found my problem. I had partially clogged nozzle. The way to clear it is remove the nozzle from the heat end. Heat up the brass nozzle a little until you can insert a small strand of copper wire. I used a strand from 12 guage wire. The the wire strand will only insert once the nozzle hole is expanded.by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
I have printed a decent test cube. I can post a picture and video it you like. The pot has been adjusted to determine if it is the cause There was no improvement. Calibraion was doen as well....G1 E100 spits out 100mm Its like the extruder is pushing more that can exit the nozzle but I am not sure how to reduce the load.by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
It reverses through the whole print of the cube. the faster the print speed the more it reverses. It does the same thing at 200C. I am gonna give my nozzle and heat end a good cleaning to see what that gives. Currently I am printing a 7mm/s to get good prints with the extruder acting like it is. How fast should I expect to be able to print?by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
I made a video of the reversing during my last print I adjusted the pot but that did not make differenceby MarkIngle - Delta Machines
Why would my extruder be reversing while printing. I have cleaned the heatend and my extruder has been calibrated. I am printing a test cude with PLA at @220C. I think I have seen posts with this type of problem before but I cannot find them on the forum. Thanks in advance! Markby MarkIngle - Delta Machines
I'll do that when I get home. Just for grins I exported the stl to gcode and loaded in pronterface. The head printed in the middle so it must be the slicing? I found the extruder needs calibrating too . One step at a time! Here are the first couple of lines of the Gcode ; generated by Slic3r 1.2.9 on 2015-07-26 at 00:08:20 ; external perimeters extrusion width = 0.40mm ; perimeters extrusionby MarkIngle - Delta Machines
Thanks dc42. I have slic3r set to a circular print bed. I should have mentioned this in my first post. This is really wierd! This is my first 3d printer but I have done the calibrations and manually leveled the headby MarkIngle - Delta Machines
I'm am trying to print a simple test cube on my. Kossel but the head moves in front of the Z tower and bottoms out my X carriage. I have confirmed that x and y are in the center 0,0 after G28 but for some reason the head does not start in the center. What is going on? I am using slic3r and Pronterfaceby MarkIngle - Delta Machines
Kossel with Arduino and RAMPS. The probing goes toward the x any y towers.by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
I have auto level working but I am not sure it is working correctly. When the probe touches the bed its pretty much in the middle of the bed and starts moving toward the front. Seems like it should start somewhere near the rear. Struggling!!!!by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
While running auto level last night (for the first time) I noticed that the X carriage, violently, drops lower than the other as it leaves the home position. By violently I mean the X carriage oscillates up and down very fast before leaving the position (I can see the end stop LED flashing). When I issue G1 Z50 F4000 the oscillation does not happen. Any thoughts on the problem or how to researby MarkIngle - Delta Machines
Paying attention to detail is so important!! Thanks for all of your help Tim!by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
Yes the 16 came from Folger Tech. Below are the radius settings... #define min_software_endstops true // If true, axis won't move to coordinates less than HOME_POS. #define max_software_endstops true // If true, axis won't move to coordinates greater than the defined lengths below. // Travel limits after homing #define X_MAX_POS 76 #define X_MIN_POS -76 #define Y_MAX_POS 76 #define Y_MIN_POS -by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
I have 16 tooth pulleys. Do I see need to recalibrate? I used a online calc to get my stepsby MarkIngle - Delta Machines
It seems I have missed a step or have a bad config somewhere. G29 cannot complete because my z probe keeps going off the print bed causing a head crash. Is there a section in the config file that defines a bed radius buffer of some sort. I have attached pictures. One pic shows my settings for z probe offset which was determined using a procedure from builda3dprinter. The other is a pic of thby MarkIngle - Delta Machines
Thanks Tim! I have Z level on all points now! However I noticed my X carriage bottom out when testing height on the right side of the bed. I'll dig around for setting limits on print radius. Thanks so much for the help!!!by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
Thanks Tim! I thought about that but won't that also lower the z height for xyz? I ask this just to get a better understanding of the relationshipsby MarkIngle - Delta Machines
I confirmed tonight that the Z height for X, Y, and Z tower do not match center Z height. Z at center is higher. The height between xyz is the same. How can this be corrected? I have a Kossel 2020 printer kit that was purchased from Folger Tech. Thanks in advance for any help!by MarkIngle - Delta Machines
I made it to running auto level and my nozzle is hitting on side of the print bed. Any ideas what might be causing this? Or is there any troubleshooting suggestions to determine root cause? Thanks in advance for the help! I have Kossel printer form Folger techby MarkIngle - Reprappers
Please post something if Folgertech has some options. I needed to get the printer going so I had to figure something out. I basically used the longer 10mm screw to get the tnut to bite and pull in the corners. If a screw pops it will probably exploded! Lolby MarkIngle - Reprappers

I got mine from them when all they had were a couple of samples. Same thing, no threads for the belt bearing axle or any way to keep the bearings in place. Then I realized that the load would be vertical from the belt around the bearings, so any shaft placed through the bearings really wouldn't be loose enough to come out horizontally. Just for the heck of it, I placed a piece of heavy tape acby MarkIngle - Reprappers
Is there anyone on the form that built a Kossel from Folgertech using the aluminum corners? I am trying to figure out how to install the axil (M3 x 25M) for the bearings. The hole on the pieces are not thread so the screw just slides in and out. This does not seem right to me....any help is much appreciated. Mark Ingleby MarkIngle - Reprappers
I received my printer yesterday but the aluminum corner pieces did not ship. I will be working on the rods and hopefully the pieces will ship soon.by MarkIngle - Reprappers
Thanks Tim! You are correct! I sent an email to Dan and he responded with a 2-3 day turn around on shipping. I am pleased with my decision to go with Folger Tech!by MarkIngle - Reprappers
Placed my order today for the Kossel 2020 with Folgertech. Fingers crossed! Hope it does not take long to shipby MarkIngle - Reprappers
Great! thanks guys! That really helps....I'll post here when it is orderedby MarkIngle - Reprappers
I have not been able to get anyone to call me back from Folgertech. Does anyone know if they are still operating? It appears that there store is above a pizza resturant when using Google Earth....by MarkIngle - Reprappers
Quotepencilpusher I ordered a prusa from folgertech and they delivered a Kossel 2020. It is my first 3D printer ever. There is a 10 day packaging time and I received an email with UPS code on the eleventh day and it was delivered within 3-4 days. The instructions start off pretty good with descriptions and photos but by the time you get to the wiring part the details and photo references get veby MarkIngle - Reprappers
