This might be a simple answer - Hopefully. I am thinking i fried some stuff on my ramps board - my LCD is really dim and when i try to auto home my Z tower motor will not move.. (makes a grinding sound) When i dont have power applied to the ramps/mega i can move the x and y motors freely, but not the z. When i remove the motor from the ramps board it frees up and is able to move fine. I've alsby Rattfink - Delta Machines
Quotewrangellboy I'm running a duet now which uses different numbers, but if I remember right somewhere around .3v for the stock steppers. I also upgraded mine and could run the more powerful steppers up to about .5. I never tried the minimum before it skips thing, if they're missing steps, turn them up, if they're too hot (60c is my top) turn them down... not sure if the voltage was the issue -by Rattfink - Delta Machines
Quotewrangellboy Do your carriages run smooth if you disconnect them from the rods? Do all 3 motors jerk at the same time? If it's all 3 it seems most likely to be a software issue. If it's just one you can focus in on that tower, do things run smooth, is the stepper underpowered? Good tips - When disconnecting all three belts and running i do get the slight pauses in all the steppers - I will cby Rattfink - Delta Machines
Hello Everyone I am in the process of replacing my steppers and some other stuff - when i was testing the movement of the new motors there's still a herky motion when it's moving towards the build plate. I've linked a video HERE When i re-home the little pauses are not there.. this happened with my old motors too.. do any of you have any ideas? it would leave the drivers and the board doing baby Rattfink - Delta Machines

Quotedavidf01 I have the filament working well going through the extruder and down the tube. Now I have to test how it goes through the brass fitting and through the hotend. I hope it flows through the hotend and PTFE ok. If it does not what can it be other then the PTFE tube? I've had it happen that the small metal "teeth" that grab on to the PTFE tube break off and clog the hot end tube.. i waby Rattfink - Delta Machines
I used my digital calipers and locked them down at the specific measurements. Then used the backside of it to push the endstops up against. worked very well for me..by Rattfink - Delta Machines
QuoteTim Crap . . . after reading again, I realize that all the MAX endstops are correct . . . and I can't read. Since a Kossel only homes at MAX, I think you are already correct, and I need new glasses . . . . sorry . . . . No Worries! i hadn't committed any changes anyway.by Rattfink - Delta Machines
const bool Z_MIN_ENDSTOP_INVERTING = false; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstop. This line?by Rattfink - Delta Machines
QuoteTim This is a delta, right? All endstops should be set the same, since they reference the towers, and not the actual cartesian movements. So, looks like this will be "Set Z endstop inverting to 'true' for the win . . ." Tim, yea it's a delta - that makes sense to me! I'll check that out first and then if that doesnt work i'll try wrangellboy's idea.. appreciate it you two!by Rattfink - Delta Machines
Hey all - Things have been going great with the printer - but i realized while trying to print my AT walker it's printing in reverse - it displays properly in cura, i save to SD and bring it to the reprapdiscount LCD and print it out, it's in reverse (the parts that were on the right side of the build plate before and they end up printing on the left side) I got my larger LCD in the mail todayby Rattfink - Delta Machines

Quotetadawson Folger doesn't have any bearing on what will work or not . . . the Kossel 2020 is bone stock Marlin and RAMPS1.4, so if the display works with that pair, it works with the printer . . . - Tim I understand that - i am asking about LCD touchscreens and if anyone has one - suggestions or experiences.by Rattfink - Delta Machines
Does anyone have any suggestions for LCD touchscreens? i see the MKS TFT28 out there.. dont know if anyone has ever used that on a folgertech or not.by Rattfink - Delta Machines
Does anyone use the newest Cura? I have been using Cura 15.02 and am looking to go the latest version but they changed machine settings to use a '.json' file. anyone have that worked out yet? Thanks for the helpby Rattfink - Delta Machines
Has anyone changed out the plastic portion of the heat bed standoffs? i am wondering if there's some kind of adjustable arms to place the heatbed on, vs the clear plexi.by Rattfink - Delta Machines
Quotecman8 Quote3D52 Quotedavidf01 So I can get this straight I should plan on updating or adding: 1. update stepper motors to either the 76oz motors Seriouspete posted or the 0.9° step angle motors Koenig posted a few posts above. 2. update electronics to a Smoothieboard or some other board 3. update the extruder 4. Add some cooling fans to the steppers, or will upgrading them be good enough?by Rattfink - Delta Machines
Quotecman8 Sure. here it is on thingiverse Thanks dude - printing now..by Rattfink - Delta Machines
Quotedavidf01 Thanks for the info on Hatchbox. I ordered the printer with one spool filament from Folger. Is Hatchbox better then the filament I'll get from Folger? I will try it on my next order. I am pretty new to this whole thing also - i have ordered ABS from folgertech, but not tried it yetby Rattfink - Delta Machines
Quotethevisad I grabbed mine off of ebay from a local seller. With shipping I think I spent 12.50 per stepper motor. Thanks! i grabbed a set...by Rattfink - Delta Machines
Quotecman8 +1 On this rework. I downloaded and printed this design and works 10x better than the old extruder used to. Havent had any issues with it and prints are getting dialed in for sure. Between this and the dual fans on the hot end, everything is printing nice including overhangs which is what I was having issues with. Quoteseriouspete I melted and warped the original corners on my kit, then replaced those with aluminum, and replaced the steppers with some really nice strong steppers. Now my machine is super quiet and the motors barely get warm over hours of use. If it's a quick print they are cool to the touch, since they are all metal. I can't recommend replacing those steppers enough. I did the same. canby Rattfink - Delta Machines
got these going recently - they came untapped. I looked in the RevB instructions and they suggest using a screw and a nut on the inside. I thought that i would just get a 4mm tap and some screws and it turned out nice and stable!by Rattfink - Delta Machines
I should add that Hatchbox is pretty cheap and has been pretty good for me - plus amazon prime w/free shippingby Rattfink - Delta Machines

Ok - my feeble brain has been at this all day. I feel I'm on the right track but can't seem to get my brain wrapped fully around the smooth rod offset value to level the effector. I went through the link for adjusting in a previous post, I am at z-pos 0 at center, but around 2.1mm on each tower. So at least they're all pretty close on the towers, so this tells me that the effector is going awayby Rattfink - Delta Machines
I love my hexagon extruder. Never had a jam and it's been working great. What I like about it is that there is no cavity in between the push fit connection and the filament chamber. So you know that when its in, it's in. Inexpensive and it came with everything sans the mini push fit connector. So if you get it make sure to acquire that also. I think they sell it for direct drive. But you just unsby Rattfink - Delta Machines
Hello everyone I just got my aluminum base kit from Folgertech, and they are beautiful! i am wondering if anyone knows the size of bolt that is supposed to be used for the bearings on the top? I switched the bolts and T-Nuts out to M4, and they're much sturdier, but i am not sure about the bolts for the bearings that move the GT2 belts. Thanks much for the help!by Rattfink - Delta Machines
