Timely post. I have just ordered 32 bit driver boards, magnetic ball joint parts and last night I printed carriages and an effector to fit the magnets to an E3d V6 head which can achieve higher temps. I'm removing the Z probe, An inductive probe will not work on the Folger Tech kit because the RAMPS right under the plate makes the metallic footprint uneven. I may use FSR in the future. Thanks. that answer is exactly what I needed to know!by KevinS - Delta Machines
What do these numbers represent on a Delta and how do I determine them? Do they represent the motion across the bed or the slider position on the towers? Or something else? Here's what I have on my Marlin config.h but I have no idea if it's right. #define X_MAX_POS 102 #define X_MIN_POS -100 #define Y_MAX_POS 98 #define Y_MIN_POS -94 thanks!by KevinS - Delta Machines
80 is where I had them set initially before going on this goose chase.by KevinS - Delta Machines
Thanks. That's actually a big help. I found that by pushing a digital caliper down with the effector, these need to be around 81.25. It seemed to me the height was also too big but my cal object is only 10mm high so any error might be in the "noise floor"by KevinS - Delta Machines
Prints are coming out too big so I am trying to dial in the right steps per unit. I'm down to 75 steps per unit and prints are still oversized. This seems wrong as I'd expect this number to be at least 80. At 75 the Z axis becomes 310mm. This seems wrong. Does anyone know the stepper resolution for the NEMA 17s this printer ships with? 40mm calibration block is printing 40.4mm using 75 steps pby KevinS - Delta Machines
Hi David, I had just a few minutes this morning to try your edits to the BPE version and load it. Home command worked fine and I was able to lower all 3 in Z by 100. And they all went in the same direction! That's a big improvement. While building it became apparent that Folger has shipped slider carriages that are printed flipped or reversed from earlier models which are shown in their attemby KevinS - Delta Machines
Thanks. I'll take a look at your revisions.by KevinS - Delta Machines
There are two firmware versions on the google drive. Neither seems to properly run the printer. I got it to home up to the endstops on all three motors by editing configuration.h of the revB version. Any attempt to move anywhere and the Z motor goes crazy. Can someone point me to the right firmware and maybe even a manual to get this printer working? Thanksby KevinS - Delta Machines
Thanks for the information. I'm glad the reversed print doesn't matter on the sliders. That really sent up a red flag for me. Because the wheels are held at an angle, irregularities in the sidewall really bump hard when sliding. I'll check out the Folgertech thread.by KevinS - Delta Machines
The provided sliders parts are all printed opposite of what is shown in the Rev B manual. Like mirror images. They still go together but should I worry about this? Also they bend even at their loosest adjustment so the wheels don't track straight. Has anyone else run into this sort of issue?by KevinS - Delta Machines
