The thing against sheetmetal for the one off build printer is that unless you have access to a laser cutter the panels will be expensive; and unless you are a shit hot welder it won't come out square when welded together. For a one off build it is just easier to use aluminium extrusion with metal corner brackets. Inexpensive, readily available, and when you need to modify it due to some unforeseeby Seraph1M - CoreXY Machines
The leadscrew and the nut must have the same lead, otherwise they won't fit together. Check this carefully when ordering. I could not find motors with leadscrews with the short lead. Only seem to be available in the TR8 x 8 specby Seraph1M - CoreXY Machines
Hello masterviana, I am also working on the design of a new printer. I've decided to go with the Hypercube evolution, but adapted to make use of a load of parts I have salvaged from a Kossel. I am also a CAD engineer. However with the release to the market of the Ender 5 + the whole project has become a bit moot. And I have absolutely nowhere to put a printer bigger than my Ender 3. Hi AV8R1 I also have a Folger Kossel and the extruder drive does work. Check the speed setting that you have set in Pronterface. The speed and extrusion length can be seen at the bottom of the attached file. DjDeamonD is correct about the bed leveling. Mine didn't work either so eventually I gave up and did it manually with a feeler gauge. I installed endstop adjustment screws on the top of my caby Seraph1M - Delta Machines
Hello Adam, I too am just getting started in printing though I do have an operational printer. A Kossel delta. I am also a professional CAD designer. If you can send me the file I can have a look at it for you and give you a price. What format is your file in? .stp or .iges is best for me. Not .stl How many do you need? I live in the UK; where are you based? My email address is anby Seraph1M - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
Hi All, I bought the Rev A Kossel kit a few months ago also as a complete novice to 3D printing. What sold me on this kit was the excellent build review on YouTube. All the caveats mentioned above are true of course. You are not getting the latest tech but mine works well. and I have learnt a lot. Which was the point. I've made the following mods from the Rev A spec: Hopefully Folger have pickedby Seraph1M - Delta Machines
On my printer the nuts holding the linear rails seem to have lined up the rails OK by themselves. I haven't noticed any orthogonality problems, although I have only printed a couple of large objects so far.by Seraph1M - Delta Machines
Hello Giolangle, the length of the rod should be enough so that the rod does not become horizontal when the nozzle is at the edge of the print zone. Maybe 15 degrees from horizontal. Are you going to design this printer yourself? That is more challenge than I would want. Are you OK on modifying the software for the changes in size? If not I would recommend buying a kit. That is less of a challengby Seraph1M - Delta Machines
Hello Giolangle, I too am new to 3D printing and have recently finished building a Kossel. I chose it partly because they are beautiful compared to any of the other printers I have seen. The printer in your picture looks like a Kossel design. If so there seems to be two common sizes for these machines. The small machine uses 260mm for the horizontal extrusions with 600mm for the vertical legs. Thby Seraph1M - Delta Machines
