Take a look at ours. We had a 5lb toolholder sitting on the hotend olatform, and it moved just as well. The motors arent straininng, every one move in cartesian is split into 200 segments for the delta math. So motors sound a little different running all those diff moves.by johnoly99 - General
Indiegogo.com/rostosckmax Look in the gallery section. Im going to start uploading a ton to flickr too here shortlyby johnoly99 - General
Well, if rotated anyways. Lol. You can move 125mm from the center of the bed straight towards any of the three t slot columnsby johnoly99 - General
You got it. The simple build volume answer not counting the heated bed or the odd shape at the true max is appx 200 ( larger in some areas ) and 350mm tall.by johnoly99 - General
Dark, the beds we are using are the ones we happen to have for our H printers. We are going to be making a roundish heated bed that more accurately depicts the primtable area. Its not a perfect circle, its a circle with a bowed out triangle rotated between the arms. There are holes to mount two of the Phebe PCB beds we use sideways too. But, hopefully we eill have the roumd PCBs next month. Btby johnoly99 - General
Nevermind jolly, found 'em And, here they are MK7 STL Filesby johnoly99 - General
Where are they, we'll post them up here if I could find the source?by johnoly99 - General
peddiparth, it's not glass. It looks to be acrylic, based on machining marks on the edges. If that's the case, and they are printing on acrylic un-heated build plates, then hmmm, I mean, we were telling people about using acrylic, and even selling them on our website like 6-8 months ago.by johnoly99 - General
Just to let you know, I'll be on ustream tonight finishing wiring up the RAMBo board. Johnny @ UltiMachine helped finish off getting the firmware working, it's a combination of Johann's Rostock Delta and tonokips RAMBo supported Marlin. Stop in and chat, ask ?'s, and hang out!by johnoly99 - General
Push-to-connects are nice and easy. If you search around on ebay etc... you can find them fairly inexpensive. Thanks!by johnoly99 - General
Here's some photo updates on the MAX, we finished modifying the Steve's Extrtuder for a bowden setup, and Brian Laser'd the extruder/spool mount out of the white laserboard. It's looking like tomorrow night, we ran out of thermistors so I can't put a hot-end on it yet.by johnoly99 - General
Thanks rich! Yeah, we're thinking of making the arms, platform and U-joints as a kit, so you can bolt it on your printed rostock. Those are the really critical parts, and these are CNC machined u joints, the platform and arms are glass-filled-nylon injection molded, and the holes in the arms are drilled after they have "normalized" from the injection process for a day to make sure the center-ceby johnoly99 - General
Ok, so here we go again, better than ever, I hope! Rostock MAX on Indiegogoby johnoly99 - General
I've tagged it all for reading, you def. have something when you talk about how much knowledge gets buried in the past. Anyone say Nikola Tesla? Streaming live again, testing more, hopefully adding hot-end/extruder Ustreamby johnoly99 - General
Viktor, There have been others for sure, WAY before any of us were doing it. I havn't seen all your stuff, good stuff for sure. Well, Sousoux portedin the digipots that repetier added to his firmware, so I now have Delta Firmware WITH RAMBo digipot control for the stepping/current! THANKS Sousoux and Repetier!by johnoly99 - General
Well, broke down and threw a RAMPS board on it, stuffed Johann's latest firmware on it, and BAM! Nive linear x,y motion, as well as z. Excited to get the extruder on it next. Still bummed i couldnt get the RAMBo digipot stuff into Johanns firmware, or sousoux's repetier firmware either. These deltas are still just new enough, and digipot control too, that everythings one iteration behind. Thanksby johnoly99 - General
With three arms, using the two parallel arms on each column, none. With 4 or more? Prob. could get some cool movements going for sure!by johnoly99 - General
Yeah, I'm working thru the bugs in my firmware-kung-fu, repetier has been AWESOME at helping me make those changes, he added RAMBo support and others to his firmware last night, it's in the dev branch on his github, and I'm hacking into souxsoux's repetier firmware with delta to add the rambo support. I failed miserably my first few attempts. I just got an email from repetier back, he looked atby johnoly99 - General
Got the speeds up to ~400/sec., it looks so cool moving that fast! Still don't have the delta FW for a RAMBo board yet. Sousoux has working repetier firmware with delta moves, and repetier has RAMBo support but no delta, there are marlin FW's with Delta, and with RAMBo, but none with both rambo and delta I'm close to getting it delta'd out with RAMBo, not quite there yet.by johnoly99 - General
Gonna be streaming to Ustream today, have some ppl we're going to chat with online about the machine, thought it'd be neat to leave the feed on all day for anyone who wants to take a look at it. SeeMeStream ustreams ads suck, but if you have ad blocker plugin on firefox, that works There's a chat widget, I'll try and check there occasionally tooby johnoly99 - General
Ok, so apparently our site and forum is involved in the great go-daddy outage of 2012. Sucks. Just posted a quick clip on our Facebook page of the MAX running with the molded arms. Still trying to get the RAMBo's digipot control into the newest rostock firmware Johann has up. The RAMBo uses the firmware to set motor current and micro stepping, which isn't in any of the existing Rostock-basedby johnoly99 - General
Yeah, sorry aboit the slow reply idol, had to go fishing for steelhead, in Indiana haha. Back home in washington, salmon is all over, and when I heard they stock the st. Joseph river near me, Im there every sunday theyre running now. Anywho, ill get that out to you. Dark, yep. We were def a bit naive when it came to selling that many kits. We were hoping like 10 or so, so the success was a bit ofby johnoly99 - General
Hmmm, could it be as simple as adding a G4 dwell in there before each M240/M241 line? Would the dwell cause it to kick off the M code next? Like this? G1 X100.000 Y100.000 G4 P50 M240 G1 X200.000 Y0.000 G4 P50 M241 G1 X300.000 Y200.000 G4 P50 M114 etc.... I believe G4 P(p is for milliseconds) or S(s is for seconds) is the syntax on these firmwaresby johnoly99 - General
crispy1, correct. You got it. It's pretty smooth isn't it, for a few dollar linear axis! Also, I'm uploading another video as i type. I got the MAX up and running all three arms on it's own "brains" today. The RAMBo boards we got in from UltiMachine have their new USB vendor ID associated with them, and I couldn't get the Arduino drivers to install. Finally figured out it was their ID#, hby johnoly99 - General
Ok guys. First off, I apologize for not posting the link to the firmware sooner, It's saturday, and if you check our youtube channel, you'll see I uploaded a new video of the Rostock MAX we're working on. Just got the RAMBo board all firmwared up, and fired up all the axes together for the first time. What's AWESOME is that even after ~600 printers, I still get all goofy ass when one comes toby johnoly99 - General
Hmm, Dark Alchemist. I beg to differ, and we are NOTHING like what you described above. So, what part of our 'projects' as you say makes you feel that way? We're new, we all have our problems, but I still will bet we have the best customer service out there! And honestly, in response to your comment about a consumer wanting the new TV analogy? Do you really think that reprap is to the poinby johnoly99 - General
All good points Idol, and appreciate it. We are going to be doing a video assembly of the rostock for sure, it goes together MUCH faster than the H printers do. I'm posting my firmware as we speak.by johnoly99 - General
Davew, unfortunately, the middle of the night is the start of my day. I am lurking on here, our forums, and the 'net' in general at all hours of the night. Where would we be without smartphones and 4G and wifi, OH MY! That, and clicking on the "follow topic" that emails whenever there is a new post helps too! Idolcrasher, as for our machine running on "proprietary" software, that's just totby johnoly99 - General
