Here's a photo of my attempt to make a nut from the Torqspline® Screws. I used epoxy and graphite . first waxed and then a couple of coats of spray PVA for release agent. Although the threads turned out perfect, the friction is just much too high. I guess someone could try and use a different type of coating over the threads to build them up but I think I'll just buy the nuts for now. Another aby Dannydefe - Delta Machines
This is just a preliminary set up to see how it looks. The corner caps were made off a temporary mold and the carbon /Fiberglass was resin infused. I've extended the carbon corners down to cover the stepper installation. Comments Welcome..by Dannydefe - Delta Machines
Here's the progress I made today, just doing first mock up to see how it looks. Tomorrow I will start on the side structure and stepper motor placement. Is there any opinion on how much Z this machine should have ?by Dannydefe - Delta Machines
that was a great help after updating to this version of firmware and calibrating. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the fan control on pin 9 ,this pins is selected in pins Hby Dannydefe - Repetier
I'm doing final setup and configuration on my DIY Delta and could use a little input. I have a good understanding of the Delta dimensions and this delta is extremely accurate dimensionally. After all of the adjustments I was able to print a very square test pattern. I was printing 40 mm which turned out 41.7 mm. So then something very strange happened in the Repetier firmware as I tried toby Dannydefe - Repetier
I just thought I would share a quick photo of the Roton Torqspline rods and nuts. They look pretty good although the nuts have a small amount of play in them. I think I might just do some rough experiments and see if I can't cast some nuts in epoxy after waxing the shaft .by Dannydefe - Delta Machines
okay I'm in, I'm going to attempt building a LISA Simpson. Here's what I ordered today from Roton (www.roton.com) 3x Flange Nut, 3/8 X 1.000 Right Hand Torqspline Part Number: 92054 Price: $18.55 \ea. 6 ' Screw, 3/8 X 1.000 Right Hand Torqspline® Part Number: 60998 Price: $11.87 \ft. I'm not quite sure what the final structure will look like, but my primary concern is rigidity. As farby Dannydefe - Delta Machines
Nicholas I know these rods are not ideal but I thought it would be okay for proof of concept bot ? 3/8 -10by Dannydefe - Delta Machines
Another interesting variation from the prolific brain of Nicholas. For additional stability and appearance enhancement here is my contribution to this design progression. I envision the corner post to be constructed from lightweight composite construction. I could put together simple infusion mold and pop out several sets of these pieces. the top and bottom pieces could have machined receptaby Dannydefe - Delta Machines
thanks Cameron, this was the problem, not having the both thermistors connected. heated bed is working...by Dannydefe - RAMPS Electronics
Yes , the 12 V is wired correctly to both terminals and in addition there is power on the positive side of D8 terminal which validates proper power on the board. Also when I select the command to turn the Bed on in Repetier , I get G code saying printer is on dry run until restart ?by Dannydefe - RAMPS Electronics
Greetings guys, I'm having difficulty getting my heated bed to operate. I'm using the following software. Repetier V0.90c Arduino 0022 Ramps 1.4 Temperature sensor is functioning, And the bed is functioning, I have a large enough power supply and the 12v input wires are wired correctly. #define E0_STEP_PIN 26 #define E0_DIR_PIN 28 #define E0_ENABLE_PIN 24 #define E1_STEPby Dannydefe - RAMPS Electronics
I finally had a few minutes to run a test on the holding strength of the .5" neodymium magnets. Have a look at the photos you can see the test revealed holding strength of 2174Grams. Repetire help.. Can any of you guys tell me why I cannot turn on the (classic mode) OPS operation mode (in the Firmware EEPROM settings in REpetier). if I do it stops the printer. That's great you are doing design for acrylic. I have 3/8 (.343 Nominal )dark smoked acrylic in stock. I was asking for Solidwork friendly files because I would probably cut the first prototype Sextupteron on my Haas mill. I agree with the Post from (Extent), STEP, or IGES would work okay for my conversions. You can also include the Autodesk Inventor files, I've got some friends that might beby Dannydefe - Delta Machines
Here's another thought on the Magnet joint configuration. Just thinking... what if instead of trying to secure the sphere, we use the dimpled steel receptacles like I mentioned on both arms and the effective. I could imagine this would be threaded into the effector or Press-fit? Of course these are not going to be off-the-shelf items , but it would be quite easy for my shop to make initial run .by Dannydefe - Delta Machines
Nicholas The magnets I used are .5" sphere Neodymium. I did quite a bit of experiment with different sets ,but this seems to be the best size for good holding power. But I think the real trick is what I learned from (Berry Bot 3-D delta ) He suggested using this shoulder screw from McMaster Carr (91259a546 ) and using .5"mill on it to dimple the end. This combination works exceptionally well.by Dannydefe - Delta Machines
