The 80% rule is not really great to use. Its a rule of thumb. You want to know exactly how large you can print. Do some trig and calculate the minum angle to be 20 degrees. Add in your effector offset and you'll get something much closer to realityby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Traxxas joints are very popular with deltas. They are simple top user and you only do it once. But it has less usable angle than magnetic joints. You also can have slop and backlash over time due loose ball joints. Magnetic joints are slop and backlash free, but pop out at high temps and at high speed. They also cost more.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Before RAMPS was king of the hill, there is just so many people using, so much documentation on it while the 32-bit boards were still too new. That's no longer really the case. You got very well documented Smoothie and the popular azteeg now. The absolutel only reason to go with RAMPS is to save money.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
They require tweaking to print well. Once you fine tune it, they print extremely well. Id get stepper dampners for sure. There are ezstruder mods so that you can print ninjaflex as well.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines

The heated chamber only indirectly improves high speed printing. If I am going to use ABS to its fullest extent I need a heated chamber. ABS is better than PLA in regards to cooling and it bridges and does overhangs better. ABS has a lower heat capacity and higher thermal conduction so it cools faster (which is why the additional cooling when not in a chamber warps it so much) ABS also is leby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
So is your design the effector and the carriages? It looks like a Kossel mini derivative.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
QuotePaul Wanamaker 3DRapidClone, I'd like to see you succeed, I have a few worries tho... Thanks. and I hope to answer them all. I think that a 90C chamber temp will be too high. You will run into problems as with PLA where the filament does not freeze by the time the next layer goes over it. Stratasys recommends between 70C-90C. Realistically, I am going to be running the chamber at 70C.by 3DRapidClone - Reprappers
I now understand what you are saying about the 1600 Watts assuming higher temps on whatever you're trying to cool. Question, since my extruders are within the build chamber, Shouldn't I take in account the ambient air in my watt calculation? Say that stepper motor only uses 1 Watt (example) and runs at 30C normally. My axis motors are for the most part outside of the chamber, I just wanted to mby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Hey guys, I'm looking for advice or suggestions about watercooling my Delta printer. I'm using it to experiment with very, very high speed printing. It's going to have a heated chamber with a max most likely around 90C. At these temps, my fan on E3DV6 is insufficient, so I need to either to resort to watercooling or having cool air funneled in. I've decided to go with watercooling. I'm not surby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines

Delta printers don't really have to deal with ghosting either in their prints, we don't have the same kind of oscillation you get from swinging a heavy carriage around quickly.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines

Quotesheepdog43 Quote3DRapidClone Here you go, everything is neatly documented. It's a reprap, It's a Kossel Mini derivative that uses V-slot, and different ball joints, its similar to Ultibots, but ultibots uses a PG35L micro direct drive extruder. Griffin is designed for Geared Stepper motors. The extruder is a dual system, it can use a standard Nema 17 or a geared Nema 16/17stepper. I don'tby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines

Thanks for the reply! Actually the 24V bed will be 400W, 1.44 ohms, And I found out the board I will be using (CRAMPS will have 20A connectors so no need for a big mosfet there). Good points on not double down converting. I wasn't going to, but its good to make that clear. It probably makes the most sense to go with the 24V Power Supply.by 3DRapidClone - Reprappers
I have the option of using a 12V 650Watt ATX supply to power my 3DP or to use a 24V industrial power supply. I am powering several stepper motors, 9 in fact. a 40watt hotend, and a 360 watt Heated bed, 400mm diameter. If I use the 12V supply, it can supply up to 52A on the 12V line, but it also has 5V and 3.3V lines which is nice. I must tie several of the 12V lines together so that it can hanby 3DRapidClone - Reprappers
