I figured that I would need to replace the PLA plastic parts for ABS. I'll experiment with just a HBP and an enclosure to see if a fully heated chamber will be worth it.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
I am considering experimenting with a heated build chamber for the Kossel using a heat bed installed upside down from the top of the frame and enclosed by acrylic. I'm hoping this will allow for FSR as well has very tall prints. The bottom base would be covered by acrylic and/or cork to separate the electronics and motors from the heat, with the exception for the belt hole. I figure raising bottoby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Whats the strength on your magnets? I am thinking about using theseby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
As for the wobbling, you may want to try and make the magnets more recessed. This would mean that you would either add more thickness to the bottom of the effector or the on the top. The magnetic arms don't interfere with the locking of the hotend? That was one of my bigger fears.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Awesome, let me know when you get pricing together for individual or the kit.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
That seems quite inaccurate especially when you consider different sizes in effector plate?by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
How did you figure out your custom Delta rod length? I am definitely interested in your kit though. Can you cut custom lengths of aluminum tubing for you kit?by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
By switching to a heated build chamber! I am interested in this proposed kit of yours! Would want to scale it up a bit. Do you like the magnetic effectors much more than the traxxas u-joint alternatives?by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
How much did it cost Cecil4u?by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Has anyone else attempted automatic tool changing? Here's a demo of it, My kossel will have cross braces and I want to make use of it, by taking that idea and improving upon it. Multiple Recessed ND magnets should help its accuracy to "lock" into position on a slightly larger effector. Are there tutorials, or if anyone could lead me in the right direction to have set G-code run like in that viby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Wow, thanks for the insight, I'm hoping my cross-bracing and other modifications to the frame will help boost its rigidity enough. Now that I know extruders don't have as large of an effect as I thought, Airtripper and EZstruder are identical other than their difference in complexity. Is it a clear cut victory for the Ezstruder due to ease of use? I've seen people modify and used geared versionsby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Hmm, which extruder option would give the fastest possible prints?by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Hey guys, I realized only recently that the Kossel calculator was only meant for the Legacy after searching through this group. I ended up finding Jay's visual Kossel Mini calculator and had to do some readjustments. I had planned on purchasing 288mm rods from Tridprinting.com, but I'm going to need about 351mm rods center to center which means custom cuts, what's the recommended way to cut the tby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
I'll most likely go with Johann's for simplicity and then once I get printing, I'll try out other extruders. Thanks!by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
I see! The 5:1 geared nema stepper is a bit over geared right? So it slows retraction a bit? Seen anyone try to gear it down to 3:1 if that's even necessary? Im hoping an astroyn damper will fit too but it probably won't due to it needing to be close together.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
With accessible Wade's, is that directly usable with a Bowden? Its not designed for a pushfit right? Since its my first one, I'm really focusing on being able to get it from a kit since I can't print my own parts yet. But to decide between a standard nema with gears vs. A geared stepper seems to be quite daunting. I figure that a .35 nozzle would be a bit too finicky for someone so new, wantingby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Wow thanks again sheepdog. I'll look into the berrytripper. So many derivatives to look atby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Hey guys, researching extruders has been fun, but I'm at a standstill on what extruder to use for my kossel mini(750/360) Hopefully this thread will help other people when they are just starting out as well. Here are the options I've found: 1.) Johann's extruder - comes with printed parts kit, requires geared stepper motor, slightly pricier, is compact. 2.) Airtripper BSP - takes a regular Nema17by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Hey guys, I'm attempting to build a scaled up Kossel Mini (750mm/360mm) and am considering linear rails over wheels. However, I do not know the length of the rails for this scaled up version. 400mm rails are standard for the 600mm height version. Is 500mm enough for 750mm as seen here : Or 600mm as seen here : Thanks for all your help.by 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
Hey guys, first post here! I updated (partially) CidVillas' BOM. Any reason why use steel 6mm rods over stainless 6mm rods such as: I'm considering building the 3DR, but it does seem quite daunting for my printer, not to mention where to source the plastic parts. Can anyone tell me whats the print dimensions? 170mm for the bed and 200mm height? Would you guys recommend the 3dczar/Makerfarm Pby 3DRapidClone - Delta Machines
