Switching - Prometheus style Mixing (or 2in1) - Cyclops - A N Other Active mixing - ?? There is a trick to reducing or nealry eliminating toothpaste effect. "Non switching" is miselading as you can still user a static mixing (or 2in1) hotend to switch, albeit with normal retraction lengths of 1-1.5mm instead of 50mm+ my tuppenceby Mutley3D - General
Chris33 - I know you only mean well being an early adopter/beta tester, and strong advocate got Flex3Drive, but can I ask you to try and refrain from defensive posting as some may misunderstand your intended message. The guys above are all cool, its a big world and market. I dont have issue with open discussion as above, and I have to agree with Origamib's comment that people are most welcome toby Mutley3D - CoreXY Machines
Hi Richard, it was over 6 months ago on a beta project, it was unfortunate. I feel for letting you down and some day I may get to demonstrate that Meanwhile Ill just leave this here oops edit: Sorceress by Loubie3D 110mm version.by Mutley3D - General
@icefire, those settings are very low indeed. Check for binding on belt and bearings/rods, or even a faulty bearing locking up intermittently. There are many things that might be causing your problem, and from the sounds of it, im not sure it is a driver chip heat issue, under those settings, but could be. It may well be defective driver? Try swapping X and Y drivers around. I have drivers fail iby Mutley3D - General
Attribution is about doing it kindly and respectfully, not to defame or gain commercial advantage. The clause refered to was included because you both proved to be untrustworthy and deceitful. Subsequent events demonstrate that pattern of behaviour. You did not attribute. You used my name solely for your advantage. Looking good there DJDemonD, if you need files or support just ping me. QuoteDjDemonD At present piezo board is just lashed on. Planning to also raise the hotend, integrate the flex3drive and the piezo disc, and have a mounting point for the piezo board.by Mutley3D - Delta Machines
Hi Clifford I have sent you an email with the settings in earlier, (and just sent it again in case you didnt get it), but for the record see below You need to set the esteps to 1900 and set microstepping to x8 If you cannot set microstepping to x8 then run with 3800 esteps if using x16. Do not use any other value for esteps as it will be incorrect Set your E axis acceleration to 50mms (M201 E5by Mutley3D - Printing
Full stepping, ie the value without microstepping. 237.5 x 8 == 1900 which is the required value when using x8 microsteppingby Mutley3D - General
QuoteOrigamib What annoys me is why nobody ships an extruder with a fan?! E3D have been making their hotends for years and have not once considered making a part cooling fan that integrates with hotend+extruder? Flex3Drive ships with hotend cooling and print cooling solution using 25mm fans as standardby Mutley3D - General
@Mechabits ok cool yea I thought not, just sounded odd. Thanks for clarifying. Dont mistake real for fake and vice versa, easily done.by Mutley3D - General
Ripples are caused by several factors, each to varying degree and at different points along a motion path. They can have distinctly different visual characteristic. Identifying type of ripple identifies the path to solution. The subject is too expansive for a single post. Causes include but not limited to (in no particular order): Poor calibration of E axis or incorrect extrusion widths Bad linby Mutley3D - General
@Mechabits - My comment was in part a subtle hint to the party concerned in case they cared, just as someone else had hinted prior. Nothing "fake" about it so I honestly dont know where that comment comes from. If every 3d seller took every smallest opportunity to pimp their product on every possible thread, where would this forum be? full of spammy posts with no informative or helpful content.by Mutley3D - General
QuoteMechaBits There is no real 3D Printing news, it's all Fake. When was the last time a reporter came to you for the Real Story. Ok Maybe Mutley & Pursa get a few inquiries? LOL, the spamvertising on any unrelated thread where the tiniest excuse to "plug" exists, is plain to see.by Mutley3D - General
Origamib - I totally agree with you as do quite a few others that have contacted me expressing the very same. The spamvertising and hijacking of threads all around the various 3d print forums is rediculous and a lot of people are quite sick of it. Either shows they are desperate for sales, or greedy for sales. icefire - What do you think your findings are telling you regarding layer height and rby Mutley3D - General

@Origamib - Apologies, i follow you now. I'm not that upto speed on thingiverse stuff, hardly time to scratch my butt here sometimes. Have downloaded and will have a go in the next couple of days/week if I can find a break for one of the machines. Cant say I have ever noticed a difference between small or large footprint parts on PrintBite. Of course though an inverted pyramid or truncated coneby Mutley3D - General
Origamib - the post seems a little short on info. Do you have a link to the specific item/file as there are a few shown in a search. And what material are you trying to use? I woldnt use a raft, nor even consider thinking about it, as this would be worse than a brim no? I am not sure on the point you mention about "requiring maximum surface area". 100% fan so soon and sudden will work against you. Most slicers allow you to configure cooling that comes on gradually over the first few layers. Given the conditions it sounds like PrintBite has been doing a pretty good jobby Mutley3D - General
@gadgetmind - glad to hear you are having positive results in your first experiences with PrintBite. A few tips to keep in mind that will make things easier and less hassle for you. Regarding temps, if you allow the bed to sit a little once target temp is indicated, there will be more heatsoak through to the top surface, and you may find you can use slightly lower temps. For Printing Flexibles print onto PRintBite cold, with a high Z zero setting (ie no squish) and you should be able to easily peel off when finished. If it doesnt peel off easily, your Z zero is too low. Not sure about "soft PLA" but you could try a similar approach. Do update what you find works for this material, could you also link me to the material so I can see it. I have not heard of soft Pby Mutley3D - General
Quotetjhinton QuoteMutley3D If you follow the center line of a single strand of filament around a curve, there is always going to be a differential between inner and outer edge radii regardless of being linked or not? If I understand what you mean by linked, then yes. Curvature will change the amount of extrusion though. How would curvature extrusion when linked, be any different from existingby Mutley3D - General
@GRAYWOLF if your having to use gluestick send me a PM and I will help you correct that. You do not need to use gluestick with PrintBite. PLA is one of the easiest materials to print with if you are using the correct temps and have cleaned the surface correctly.by Mutley3D - General
I simply removed all jumpers, plugged them in without making changes or soldering wires or underside jumpers. Reversed motor plugs. Off I went at 12v. They ran better than 4988's or 8825's, but gave an alien high pitched beating sound when running especially when the heatbed and hotend were running on PID. Had them for some while like that but everything was running fine and good prints. Then mby Mutley3D - General
Hi Paul, A couple of suggestions for you. If using PVA and it is pulling chunks out of the glass, dilute it even further. I used to make it around 30-40:1 water/PVA but stopped using this a long time ago. If UK based, and you need glass, go to a BnQ for 220x220mm 4 pack of mirror tiles for £15, or some poundland stores have 200x200mm 4 pack mirror tiles for £9. Ikea also has the same for a littlby Mutley3D - General
There was another data sheet that I saw that had clearer presentation leaning toward an application/deployment note however for my life, I cannot find the darn thing. As soon as I do, I will post it here. I also found these drivers to work far better at 24v. If you do upgrade from 12v to 24v, make sure you do upgrade at least your hotend cooling fan.
